Barring winning at least 8 of our remaining 17 we will be down here for the first time since the Football League was invented.

Its going to be a right pain getting the title off our stands!

We know this is a tough league so we could be here for a while. Few others have started such threads and stayed up so there is that!

Just putting feelers out to see what you guys n gals are like.

Don't give up yet Brother.

I'm looking at the table and positively salivating at the sight of Crawley, Yeovil, Cheltenham, Morecambe and Macclesfield all down near the bottom.

Dear Leader,

I am writing to express my utmost faith in the natural order to deliver unto tinpot purgatory, two improper clubs forthwith at the end of the current campaign.

Whilst the Brotherhood is open to all proper, historic football league clubs (and shuns false phoenix creations), the potential for 8 esteemed brothers competing in the same public house league in the following season is a tragedy too much to bear.

The natural order has not been carrying out its duties in a timely manner and I trust in its doctrine to action a positive impact on the football family this current campaign.

Ta,
Soup Ladle.

Best section on this site and softens the blow a bit, a single weekly match thread, a plethora of supportive BROTHERS, a smattering of very knowledgeable tinpotters, it's bloody lovely.

We do have our own Carver but he only turns up when Halifax 2008 FC win.

Apart from a few bad apples (watch out for a pillock calling himself Master B or something similar), we're all great. As a member of The Brotherhood of Great & Historic Football League Clubs (i.e. the clubs in the Football League in 1986, whether reformed, renamed, whatever) you'll be in good company. As a member of the Brotherhood you will be required to back your brother clubs against the Tin Pot army. For future reference, I alone created The Brotherhood and make the rules. This was long, long before Wrexham, Hartlepool, Orient got here and attempted to hijack it and make their own rules and institute a hierarchy into the Brotherhood. For clarification, the members are as previously stated. No member may leave, no new members may be admitted. There is NO hierarchy, all members are equal. in status. That is all for now. :ds:

We might actually beat you for once. We’ve played Notts 3 times in the FA Cup since I’ve been a Sutton fan, and we’ve lost 3 times. Vengeance and all that.

But in all seriousness it’s crazy that a club like Notts County are on the verge of being at this level. Meadow Lane is too good for this level

Not really that crazy, we should start to expect that these hobby clubs will replace some famous old names in the league. Stockport, Bristol Rovers, Tranmere, Luton, York, Chesterfield and plenty more big teams show us that it's becoming the norm.

Once here. you're likely to be here a long time.
Yep. Welcome to the graveyard league, ruined by bitter ex league clubs and sugar-daddies. Compared to 20 years ago, there are few true part time non league clubs living on their raffle income. You will be judged on your ability to generate 10,000+ crowds without spending a single penny on transfers. Every defeat in your first season will be greeted with the same joy as Frickey Athletic beating Manchester United away in the cup. In short, this league is completely insane.

Don't think we will be getting 15,000, 18,000 like the last two seasons in this league even with the £2 offer. I "think" I'd be happy with a 5,500 average.

If this league is insane sounds like the best place for us, with us holding, amongst others, the record for the most relegated side and most stressful side to support all us Notts fans are insane!

With the regards to our posters generally all follow the straight and narrow.
Some will throw a couple of fish, one or two may catch you and bang on about it every time you post on one of our threads.
Won't say who they are, you'll guess inside a week!

LongEaton Pie : Dont wish yourself in this league, although you would be our local rival (something to look forward to)
You will end up like Soup Ladle, when even the prescribed viagra doesnt work, retire yourself into a dark room and ally yourself with other bitter old dumplings hogging the metaphorical jukebox, talking about the good old days and occasionally shouting at the young kids on the street, before locking themselves in the backroom together, turning off the lights and crying.

Look at current top three in the table. An ex EFL club, a true non league club there on merit, and a bankrolled club in third. That's pretty representative of his league.

I think it's correct that there are very few part time players any more. Not convinced being semi pro is that big a disadvantage as the pro clubs are all fishing in a very limited pond.

Its not a s bad as you think as long as your stay is for one season only. We averaged around 6500 thousand and had one gate at over 110000. The problem would be a second season . Note to B2TF I believe the Brotherhood should be extended to clubs that lost their league status in the 60's & 70's as well.

You get a decent parachute payment when you come down, which I think drops to 50% in your second season. Trouble is a lot of those relegated are in financial chaos and fritter the money away. So yes, a quick return is essential.

Absolutely love this league!
This is heady heights for us, the best division we’ve competed in. Competing against the likes of Wrexham, Orient & Hartlepool in league games is stuff I didn’t think I’d see let alone give out a few drubbings to those as well.
Love where we’re heading, slowly and steadily we keep building and it’s awesome to dream about where it could end up.

Being a real student of the game and a bit of a traditionalist. I refuse to contemplate a time when Notts are not members of the Football League. Pull your bloody fingers out for goodness sake. The players should be utterly ashamed of themselves.

Then again this would mean another local club in non league for Alfreton

However in my experience if you thought Chesterfield were arrogant wait to till you see some ( i hasnt to add not all) Notts fans....eek.
