StalePie... you'll love it. The FL is over-rated anyways.

Absolutely love this league!
This is heady heights for us, the best division we’ve competed in. Competing against the likes of Wrexham, Orient & Hartlepool in league games is stuff I didn’t think I’d see let alone give out a few drubbings to those as well.
Love where we’re heading, slowly and steadily we keep building and it’s awesome to dream about where it could end up.

This is how I feel about this league with the possible exception how you feel about Hartlepool......

For all those who moan about this league, you’ve never had the privilege of a Tuesday night at Harrow

A truly characterless ground in the middle of Metropolitanland and a club with very little local support.
The National League isn't proper non-league football anyway. As CodAlmighty put it, it's a decompression chamber between the Football League and non-league football.

You've heard of a wet Tuesday night in Stoke?

Its nothing compared to a wet Tuesday night in Barrow.

While The Magpie Viking is cut from the same jib as B2TF, Notts aren’t tinpot and would join the Brotherhood so respect will naturally be there.

Look at current top three in the table. An ex EFL club, a true non league club there on merit, and a bankrolled club in third. That's pretty representative of his league.

Funny I assumed Solihull were bankrolled as well, as their progress since last season has been extraordinary and this is only their third season in the NL, but looking at their history before they were promoted, they were always a solid 6th-7th tier club both as Moor Green and in their present incarnation, kind of like Burton.

Aren't Harrogate bankrolled too?

Harrogate have an owner who has invested heavily in infrastructure. I have no idea whether that also extends to wages. But some clubs sit in more than one category. Maidstone spent a short period in the Football League, but at heart are non league. How many of the ex EFL clubs break even?

Just remembered as per my avatar I also support a non league side too, currently in the Midland League Premier (step 5) so in theory I am on both sides of the divide already. They are my actual home town and watch them when not watching Notts.
Although this season it been more them than Notts!

We've broken even in 9 of the last 10 seasons. Sacking 2 managers in one season can be expensive.:£

I think that applies more to Kidderminster and Boston, Maidstone aren't the same club that were briefly in the League.

Wouldn't argue with that. We needed to move away from that unhappy period and reinvent the club. Our main problem is one of checking unrealistic expectations following several promotions.

As for Moors, depends on the definition of bankrolled. We are a CIC so no one can come in at present and make money or sell the club etc. Looking at our accounts for the past couple of seasons we have not broken even, but the amounts overspent are in the form of reletively small loans from directors presumably to cover the costs of ground upgrades.
When new Chairman Darryl Eales came in some months ago, an interview with him confirmed our budget is still very modest for the NL, that said we have transitioned to a more Full Time model and recruited some players that must be on decent money.
The club montetised its assets in the car parking to get promoted (again not big budget but quality NLN players) and there is a plan to get into the FL.
However if one looked at balance sheets, I think it would be difficult to categorise Moors as bankrolled. Im not sure whether we would be ready to be a FL club but am delighted with how we have bedded in to fifth tier football, after a tough transition, this season has been incredible.

You’ve answered your own question, almost full time on your crowds means your bank rolled. Every full time (or almost) team in this league will be bank rolled to some extent. Gates can’t sustain full time squads of 20+ for any team in this league even the like of Orient who get decent crowds.

There can't be many teams though that have 20+ players

We’ve got around 24/25 plus a few youngsters. But we are MASSIVE.

Same with us.

We have to do it to try and compete with moneybags clubs such as Salford, Fylde, Harrogate and Solihull.

We have 23 senior players, the majority of which will be signed by York City next season.

We have to do it to compete with Barrow and Boreham Wood for 14th place.

We're actually beginning to make a fight of it now with 4 points from auto-promotion hopefuls Lincoln and FGR.
We have just had a great transfer window which gives us hope.
Big ask but stranger things have happened.

Told you it was too early ya big tart!

And big ask? Come on man, you're 4 points from safety with Morecambe and Yeovil parachuting down the league without a parachute.
