First ever game tonight away at Malvern Town, expecting around 1,000 fans for that game. Over 3,000 tickets have been sold now for the FCUM game on Saturday.

Won our first game back at edgar street! 1-0, with 4200 attending the game. Was absolutely fantastic to be back at the street again!

It was such a great day, to be fair. I couldn't have given a toss has we lost 10-0.
The legendary Meadow End was in full voice throughout. I couldn't speak much after about 10mins.

A word must go to FCUM. What a fantastic club and a great bunch of supporters. Great drinking buddies before/after the game.

I know people on here hate FCUM for some reason. I just do not get it - They were the perfect visitors today, and I will wish them the best of luck for the forthcoming season.

There are mixed reactions to them on here.

When they first started they had an attitude (at least on the internet) which was along the lines that they invented non-league football and were bigger and far more important than everyone else, even conference clubs.

Important to get a good result on a day like that I think, will drive a few extra season ticket sales with a feel-good atmosphere. I'm sure a loss wouldn't have hurt too much though.

Good to hear that today went well, was checking twitter throughout our friendly and your attendance flashed up on my timeline and couldn't help but smile.

As for FCUM, play them competitively and there's a good chance you might change your mind about them, that's when I did, a year after our first encounter with them in a friendly as well, I can't be doing with them at all now myself.

We won 3-2. Attendance at Malvern was 2006 tonight, which is absolutely outstanding.

Amazed their ground fits that many in! Well done there, anyhoo.

Pretty much my experience.

Congrats on attendance, hopefully they stay high for the season and beyond.

I do like FCUM as a club and they obviously have a decent core of supporter but, they are horrible when your a threat to them and there best keyboard warriors appear. They have the moral high ground as they are non profit blah blah blah......

After our 6-0 defeat to a very impressive West Brom U21's, We've just drawn 2-2 away at Southern Premier newcomers Merthyr Town. two of our new signings scored the goals today.

Where's your first league fixture? Do you start on 8th August like us?

We have signed John Mills, who scored 57 goals for Didcot in the league above us last season. Along with his strike partner Pablo Heysham, who "chipped in" with 13 for them....

John Mills was being mentioned by clubs at Step 2 as a possible signing so that's quite a coup.

With those sort of crowds I'm guessing you lot will be paying pretty well? What's a decent match fee for that level? 50-150 a game?

As I understand it those that buy divisions can be known to pay that or more. Rumours obviously inflate numbers, but it's a realistic range to assume

Average would be lower

Just read in NLP that your first game against Dunkirk is all-ticket. What a shame if that's the case.

Our budget was 650 with 200 St's sold. however, that has been increased a little to help with the signing off Mills. We're up to 1150 season tickets sold.

It is all ticket, the FCUM game was a sell out, similar crowd expected for the Dunkirk game as well.
