Pray-offs is a good term for them!
If that was a genuine pun and not fat fingers on a keyboard, then that is excellent, as that is what they come down to, praying!! :hail:

Akinde's fantastic chest and volley from the Nuneaton game on Saturday.

The bearded Nuneaton player cracks me up after the goal. Doesn't know which way to go or what to do with himself, and ends up giving someone a little clap.

Those Hendon vs Maidstone highlights are about the worst I've ever seen. Is the cameraman some very slow learning apprentice of the Welling Utd cameraman, judging by the fact that over half of the footage consists of fouls? Is he aware that it's necessary to always keep the ball in shot?

Yeah the referee seems to be the main ''highlight'

I think this was Hendon's first attempt at filming a game so im not gonna be to critical...........but yeah its certainly not great

No, I've not seen Hendon put up videos of their matches before. Yes, the camera kept on panning into the referee's gestures.

Don't know who the ref was for Alfreton v GTFC but one of the best I've ever seen at this level.
Let the game flow, showed common sense, really impressed.

Edit: Just checked it is Darren England, hope we get him again sometime.

Double Edit: He is a Premier League Linesman, ran the line at Chelsea v Stoke on Saturday, don't know why he is Reffing in the Conference but happy to have him here. :)

The referee from the Gateshead game is also a Premier League Linesman too and he was bloody awful. Not sure what game it was but he was lineman at a game the day after and missed 2 obvious offside decisions..

Edit..He was the lino in the Palace v Man City game on Easter Monday when Palace's first 2 goals were apparently offside.

It's not uncommon for linesman to ref at this level to get experience towards becoming a league ref. We had John Brooks earlier this year at Welling. He was the linesman that told the Man City players to go and thank their fans at Arsenal as they'd paid so much for their tickets.

I wish we had good referees.

John Brooks was our ref against Gateshead.

A common lament at Conference level.

Indeed. Some of them are truly atrocious, it gets to the point where if we get one who is only mediocre or below average, I'm quite pleased.

Some of our players have been posing at the behind the goal camera after goals recently, Ellis Harrison took it one step further, what a bloke!

Check out Payne's goal at 1:45, every other week he scores wondergoals. Also carry on watching to see how shit their keeper was.

Here are the highlights from our game yesterday, in case anyone missed it in the other thread Jon Parkin's brilliant goal is at 2:35. Fair play to Macclesfield's Scott Barrow for showing good sportsmanship and congratulating Jon for his goal, nice touch.

Watched the highlights and it just reminded me how good the game actually was, excellent finishes for all four goals, though the lob from Parkin was pretty outrageous. To be fair though, he has already scored a few from distance, you would think that opponents might have scouted him and warned their defenders and keeper that he will shoot from anywhere. If the goal from Bennett really was a shot, rather than a cross, then fair play to him. Considering the strength of the wind from behind that goal it was a bit of a surprise to see the ball end up in the back of the net, rather than curl back towards the penalty spot. He might be a defender but all the goals he scores are a bit on the spectacular side. I thought Macclesfield actually looked a little more assured when they had the ball than Rovers did, a bit less frenetic at times, definitely a good game for a neutral.

That 3rd's a cross all day long for me. Looks like we had the chances to get back level but that's been our problem all season, putting away relatively clear chances each week.
