20+++ matches without a win but still not relegated yet. Realistically, even if we beat Accrington and Fleetwood and Gillingham lose, there's no way that we'd get the 7 goal difference we need over Fleetwood.

So hello to L2 after six years, our first relegation in 20 years. We do have a lovely new ground which is a much better experience for away supporters than Kingsmeadow was, albeit more expensive.

As I sign off, good luck to Sutton if they make the playoffs. The closest I have to a second club. If you get there, fantastic, if you don't, I'll welcome my many Sutton supporting friends to Plough Lane next season.

If we stay in league 2 I'll be looking forward to this away trip. I have a mate who lives in Earlsfield and it's like a 10 minute walk to your ground with some decent boozers along the way.

Hiya Meadow x

Sorry we will be passing ships, would love to have gone to your new ground. Maybe soon.

Not fussed about Sutton, though league one needs more grounds in the smoke

How has Luke McCormick been for you this season Meadow?
Ive seen him score a few but also left out of the starting line-up often?
He was immense for us last season in L1. POTY in an awful side

Oh my. An actual proper London club (albeit with zero animosity between us) in the same division? Been many years since we were this lucky!

First time for a few seasons we get an away trip where you can get there using just the tube by getting off at Tooting Bec on the Northern Line.

I only need this ground and Boltons to complete the 92, so I am looking forward to visting New Plough Lane.

First time for a while we've shared a division with another London club bigger than ourselves.

Sutton don’t count then?

Unfortunately Sutton as a place exists in this strange halfway house between London and Surrey. Whilst Sutton is a London borough, and is covered by TFL and the Metropolitan Police it only became part of Greater London in the 1960s and has a Surrey postcode. Sutton United are affiliated to the Surrey FA and not the London FA and our club badge is a slightly modified version of the crest of the pre-London borough of Sutton and Cheam.

Not bad. Up there as one of our best players from what I've seen. He was injured for a while and needed a rest a couple of times.

It’s possible that there will be a reversal of 2008 when were relegated from the Conference South to the Isthmian Premier whilst you did the opposite journey.

I was looking for an excuse to visit New Plough Lane - and if we do stay down it would be nice to have a proper local derby, since we’re on the lookout for new local rivals due to leaving carshalton behind

That’s like saying Exeter fans are just Plymouth fans who don’t want to travel.

Which is to say a ridiculous notion.

Looking like two successive L1 relegations for Luke. His next club had better watch out..

It's 45 miles to Plymouth and takes an hour on the mainline train.
Carshalton is a 20 minute walk from Sutton if you don't have any legs.

Carshalton's stadium address is literally Sutton.

But no Exeter fan would support Argyle would they? Like no Evertonian would support Liverpool or a Bristol Rovers fan support City.

I think it's more like no Swindon Supermarine fan would support Swindon Town... How many people do Carshalton even get at a game?

They’ll be playing at Tooting & Mitcham United’s ground next season. This is after failing to agree to extend at Corinthian Casuals, where they moved after not extending at Leatherhead.

Maybe Kingstonian are the issue here?

Btw Kingstonian moving into Tooting & Mitcham’s ground literally means Tooting Bec of the Combined Counties League were made homeless….

I wouldn’t count them as people, more as individuals who make poor life choices….

Officially they get about 400 or so, however if you watch their highlights on YouTube (great for comedy value) there are only about half of that number there. They probably count the kids who attend their Saturday morning soccer schools as attending 1st team games.

They might well be the problem I wouldn’t know, but having met some of their fans at Wembley in 99 who seemed a real decent bunch I feel sorry for how they’ve lost their home, especially as it’s actually still in use with Chelsea playing there. Must be pretty galling.

My views on Kingstonian FC are affected by the fact my experience of them is the opposite of yours. As a fan base they really hate Sutton. And they’ve never been shy of sharing it.

Mwah! See you online elsewhere and hopefully in L1 in a couple of seasons.

Tooting Bec is a fair old trek. Tooting Broadway is closest. The Misery line reopens next month although the journey from Waterloo to Earlsfield is much nicer with the above mentioned boozers along the walk to the ground.

Earlsfield is a lovely place. It's got a nice feel to it and only a shortish hop to Richmond Park. The Leather Bottle is a decent boozer on the way and there's also a really good microbrewery near Wimbledon's new ground. Only 10 minutes train journey from Waterloo too! Cracking away day.
