Drinking around 10 pints in a night on an occasional basis is easy, the guy I work with has pushed 20 pints in a night and worked the next day more than once, or so he says (he's a big fucker though, I can believe it). But averaging around 10 pints every night? Nah, that would kill you in less than a decade, or at least fuck up your health so much you'd want it to happen. Must be on a windup.

Been gradually reducing my intake over the past several months. I'd quite easily go over a couple of litres of spirit a week more often than not, but averaging about about half that in units now. Introducing beers and ciders to my arsenal helped quite a bit, shots are too easy to down.

No reason to lie about it I personally don't see it as a problem. Few of my mates do 90/100 a week

I'd say averaging ten pints a night is a drinking problem in anyone's language. I've no doubt there are full blown alcoholics who drink less than that.

Outwith the medical considerations (personally I don't give a fuck what anyone drinks as long it does not interfere with me or mine) your mates must be on a thick weekly wedge mate.

Using the lower figure provided, and assuming we're talking about drinking out, 90 pints a week at three-and-a-half quid a pint (and that's being conservative these days) is around £1200 to £1500 a month depending on how many weeks in the month between pay days. You'd need to either be clearing a minimum of three grand a month or live at home with your parents for free to afford that and pay all your other outgoings and bills.

And also, how could some someone who drinks 15+ pints a day possibly hold a job down? Not having a dig, I'm genuinely curious.

I'll stick with my 3-4 bottles of not too expensive wine per week....

Anyone else feeling thirsty right now?

I've got 6 bottles of Doom Bar at home. After taking part in this thread I'll be polishing off at least 3 of them tonight when I get in from work.

Got a disappointing selection in at the moment. Mainly bottles left over from those real ale sets you can buy, that I get for Christmas, which aren't particularly exciting.

Enjoying the fact that now it's getting cooler, pubs have more stouts and porters on though. Had a couple of good ones lately.

Average price where we live is about £2.60. It really isn't that hard to get up for work after 10-12 pints , being a bricklayer it's worn off by snap time. I don't drink 15 every night I may do the odd night but that's a few too many for a school night. I'm in bangladesh at the minute resorting to drinking our own vodka and gin in the hotel lobby because everywhere where you can get a drink shuts at 11.30. Wouldn't want to live like this haha

I'm starting (tonight) to gradually decrease my alcohol intake with a view to stopping it entirely.

Started an hour later than usual and was already sweating a lot.

Help!

Dunno. Maybe about 20 pints a week on average (or whatever the equivalent might be) - try to do at least one day off a week but do drink moderately most days + a bit more at the weekend. Vaguely feel I'd like to cut down a bit but I have quite LIMITED WILLPOWER

On average, 4-5 pints a week. It's normally 2-3 pints but the average is bumped up by a day of getting on it once a month. October's weekly average is currently sitting at 0 pints a week (due to Stoptober) and to be honest it's been far easier than I expected.

Seeing how much a pint costs in your areas makes me sad. If I pay more than £2.50 I feel ripped off. :(

Is there anywhere cheaper than Bunters Bar in Truro? Certain drinks cost only £1.99

Pagnell being 'conservative' with £3.50 a pint. He definitely isn't that young boy from Liverpool anymore, proper gentrified. £3.50 per pint, nah thanks.

Blademan already made public his very disturbing alcohol intake in the how much money you spend on booze thread. That guy needs to get to aa pretty soon.

I'll usually nail around 10-12 pints on a Saturday from early afternoon until around 10pm. After that its 2-3 cups of tea with a slab of cake then bed. I'm all for a piss up but I hate being rough the next day. It's a waste of a Sunday to lie around and feel bollocksed. Plus I'm at the age where a bad hangover can seep into a Monday and that's certainly not a good thing.
