Most clubs will have played 6 or so home games since fans were stopped from attending matches.

1) how much in terms of income i.e. cashflow would you estimate your club has lost to date ?

2) From local kjnowledge is this shortfall threatening the existence of your club . ( Just answer Yes / No to this )

I'm assuming you mean revenue rather than cashflow.

We're around £100k-£120k a game excluding secondary income i.e. match sponsorships, ball sponsorships, Club Shop (although we have one in the city centre that's open anyway) etc. Commercially we were down £500k at the end of September.

As of end of September, Covid has cost us c£2m, so we'll be closer to £2.5m now.

I think we’re entering the end game now for a lot of clubs. It’s just not viable. We must be losing around £200,000 per home game.

As a side note. Why do I just get an ad for Betiton when I put my usual link in for this site and not the home page. It’s fucking annoying in the extreme.

I think the will be no money from central government, quite rightly in my opinion.
We have all stuck 2 fingers up at the Premier league helping clubs out.......So either the owners are going to dig deep or teams will soon be going bust weekly.

Not got a clue how much Bolton are losing........8000 season ticket holders will see us through as long as the majority dont ask for a refund.
I would certainly not have any issues with fans who have been laid off etc asking for a full refund.

Our Chief Exec has stated the Club will be out of money by February and other clubs are in a worse state but we will only last that long if fans don’t ask for refunds on tickets and HMRC doesn’t demand payment

Pretty much how most clubs are, I’d think. Power has come out and said he is struggling to continue financing the club. There is a meeting today between the EFL/PL and a government committee to thrash out a bail out. Long time coming. Not holding my breath.

Have we not already refused help from the Premier League. Anyone who thinks the government is going to step in is deluded. Better run industries than football have been allowed to die. As have Bury and Macclesfield.
I said in a early post that salaries should be capped at 1k in lge 2.

It's not been refused, it's been rejected because a) it falls below the level required and b) was a £20m grant and £30m loan with strings attached.

Strings attatched......we are talking 20 perhaps 30 clubs very near going to the wall.....Beggers cannot be choosers
The premier league does not need teams like Lincoln,Salford etc........They never offered us a bean when we was 12 hours from liquidation and we had been in the premier league

In that case, you're part of the problem with your short sightedness and willingness to get shafted. This is the PL being opportunistic. They'll step in eventually pretty much as needed, as will the government in some form. They'll be a few concessions no doubt, but the EFL would've been stupid to take the first offer. No-one shows their hand early doors.

Bury had nothing to do with Covid and likewise Macc. The Wigan one was quite clearly dodgy and nothing to do with Covid, that was just a well-timed excuse.

Hence the cap in place for L1/2.

Some clubs may have been living beyond their means, but the vast majority were still paying bills. It all means fuck all in regards to a bail out though, we are being refused our single biggest revenue earner.

I agree r.e. Club's living above their means - Bolton are a perfect example. Most Club's live beyond their means but is manageable.

This isn't about that, though. This is about a rescue package due to the lack of fans in stadiums, which is what most lower league club's rely on as a massive chunk of their turnover and all other associated revenue from a match day.

I Knew you would bring Bolton up....so predictable but you are correct.
Football is at the bottom of a long list asking for hand outs.....the arts will be looked after first

The arts have already had their bailout. Governments of all hues have been anti football for decades - or, more likely, anti football fans.

It’s no coincidence our owner has come out in the last few days declaring impending doom just as there is a meeting to discuss the matter today.

Tbh, I’d be very conservative who I handed relatively large amounts of money to as there are number of owners who would pocket it. There must be a mechanism as to how any bail out gets spent.

Your owner could not pay good enough contracts to your manager and your top scorer last season.
That today looks a decent call.
Swindon is a wealthy part of the country in all due respect how has your owner managed to take a club on with his wealth???

The arts have already had 1.6 billion pounds of taxpayers money in handouts and customers have been allowed in theatres, cinemas etc.

Again, that’s not true. He, quite rightly, wouldn’t give a ridiculous 3 year contract to Doyle. Unbeknown to the fans, Wellens had a buy out clause in his contract that, if met and he wanted to go, that’s that.

Obviously, he’s gone to a club which, come what may with Covid, will survive financially. We are certainly amongst a large number of clubs on the brink so jettisoning Doyle, Anderson, Woolery etc has proved to be a good decision. We haven’t even spent up to the wage cap. I think, and hope, that the club will be sold soon.

He’s still not clicked on Bolton budget is way above £1.5m.

I don’t know what else to suggest, other than putting him down.

Still not clicked that it is peanuts on what we have had in the past
We have 3 maybe 4 on decent wages the rest are just gambles.
Now a team like Mansfield with a squad of 40 and in Maynard the highest paid player in the league

Mr Radfords piggy bank will be well used this season

T A stop being a sheep and fuck off to the pie and peas sunday league

Our wage bill is not up to the cap limit - nowhere near. I guarantee your wage bill is way higher than ours.

Neither is ours hence Evatt/new manager will have room for new players January
A goalkeeper and a decent left back who can defend is what we need

Love it when you rattle his barely existent head, he consistently responds by making stuff up, ie 40 man squad, or Maynard who came in post-cap the highest paid player lol.

What’s the squad limit this season, 22? I think it is :D
