joe riley. hmmm Aiden walker jimmy knowles josh scott

you absolute tool

Always be a scab town with scab people

Yeah I did forget about Joe Riley to be fair, he’s out for the year and not included in the squad due to that, EFL rules let you make that choice this season.

Walker, Knowles and Scott are youth graduates who are out on loan to non-league clubs, come on, I want you to knuckle down, think really hard and come up with something better, nobody likes being called a nonce, you need to step up.

MUGS!!!!
As I said to you in the L2 forum a few days ago, it's a 22 limit of over 21 players, not a hard 22 squad limit.

I know exactly what it entails.......I know because we have been under a transfer embargo going on three years.
Nothing new having a 22 man squad and 5/6 youth

He’s probably returned, due to him not really being in the squad they don’t announce all the time if they are going out on loan or coming back, obviously with it being the Stuffed Crust Cup it’s nice to get some youth lads out.

I appreciate the effort though, but you are quite a way off still, keep trying mate.

Right bringing this back on topic.

I watched the whole of the interrogation of the chair of the Premier League and EFL ... if any one else wants to view it's available on Parliament website player.

In my opinion despite all the words of wanting to support the EFL there were too many questions unanswered or lack of clarity in answers and it struck me as swerving questions by focussing on what the pandemic has cost the Premier league, rather than bringing some balance back to the game and providing some short term funding quickly to support the EFL.- a condition incidentally imposed by the Government as a quid pro quo for allowing them to re-start Premier league earlier and save their Premier league TV deals.. Used existing consolidation payments as an attempt at mitigation.

To be fair Premier league stated they did not want any club to close and they would ensure this would not happen by providing support ( if asked) No detail on how that was to be given , on what basis, how it would come about and what strings would be attached.

On a side issue they( and the Premier league clubs) were challenged / criticised seriously on their pay to view plan in ther midst of the pandemic. (This policy is now under review)

No more positive on the EFL contribution. Acknowledged they want a deal that covers a 3 divisions not just leagues 1 & 2 that is on offer to those clubs at the time. Therein lies the real impasse alongside the no loan wanted in any deal that the Premier league want included as a condition for league 1 and 2.

They were urged by the committee to agree league 1 and 2 settlement separately and immediately with an understanding that the Championship would be negotiated quickly but later.

As a result of the dialogue , which the select committee said nothing had moved since the last meeting 6 months ago, they basically put both bodies on "report" every 7 days and they must detail the meetings held with each other in coming weeks.

I would recommend a view as the meeting covered many matters including the recent discredited attempt to re-structure the game, that hasn't gone away and also involves the FA.. Whilst the EFL were broadly in support of the original proposal of "the 6", it was explained whilst supporting the proposal there were unhappy with a number of elements within in it. So some comfort.

To answer the original question - millions of lost revenue gone in our case.

No fans in this season at all - we probably lose over £3m in gate receipts and season ticket sales, let alone other matchday sales and commercial opportunities.

No idea on the actual figures of our own situation but I’d like to point out that the ManU/Liverpool offer of ‘help’ was rejected by the majority of premier league clubs. And therefore was never offered to the EFL as such.

They’re leaving it long enough for the financial pips to squeak at a pile of EFL clubs who’ll probably be only too happy to accept what’s offered - irrespective of the strings attached.

Our owner said recently that we would be short by about £2 million, I think, this season. I am pretty sure that if we had had fans in all year we would not make a loss, rather a modest profit I’d expect. And this on top of the losses at the end of last season, I think they were expecting an extra £200k plus on the Exeter game alone.

Which clubs are banking on their season ticket holders not asking for their money back, or at least a percentage, for this season?
How many will continue to be financially viable if the no or limited attendances continue into the next 2021/22 season?

Unfortunately, it’s not only the lack of football income that’s threatening clubs.

Owners whose businesses are also suffering will be their priority - not their football clubs.

We have just over 8000 season ticket holders and have been offered incentives for the next coming season if we do not ask for a refund. At first glance they look ok, but these can all be altered to benefit the club ie
Next season minimum 10% off season tickets........bump the prices up 10% sorted
15% off merchandise from the club shop......Again prices can be changed
20% off Hotel accomadation and food.....good offer
Names of this seasons ticket holders put on a wall under each stand.... will appeal to many etc
New Junior club being set up next year for the younger ticket holders.
I think most will take these offers up, but if anyone lost there employment through this pandemic...its only right they have the right for a refund

I suspect, hope, most clubs are doing similar incentives, Argo are ( we all got an email this week). Our names are also going up but they are on the wall in the changing room building just by the exit door, so they will be the last thing the players see/pass as they go out on to the pitch. I like that.

EFL statement today that £50m will be made available for L1 and L2 clubs immediately. Discussions regarding the Championship are ongoing.

I presume the £50m will be divided with L1 clubs getting a bit more than L2.

Presuming as your (L2) salary cap is less than L1 then the split of the £50m would be the same sort of %.

The money is, after all, primarily for wages.

It is for last season and this season....we have both spent a season in each

It also does not state if it is a 0% interest free loan, or money without strings attatched payment

Tbh, I don’t think club owners care much by now.

Doesn’t matter really what period the money is supposed to cover.

Of course it matters so you think Sunderland should get the same as Burton....
Bolton the same as Crawley?
What about Barrow and Harrowgate, they will have lost very little............Macclesfield will they be able to claim for last season in which cade they may have stayed in the league

Says to cover gate losses in the statement, so I'm guessing they'll either take last seasons average or perhaps take an average over the last three and x7 or however many home games have been played by now and keep paying that much after every home game.

Let's hope it's done better than the NL attempted. What a farce that was.

That would be the fairest way......The championship is the sticking point. I think teams like Luton will be struggling to find this months wages, yet Stoke will be a breeze.
It needs some of the Championship teams to say they dont want a pay out

yes i knew what you meant.....two months ago they may have actually put demands to the premier league......Today all of those have gone, they just need money to stay afloat.

Surely the money is to cover wages. In which case as every club in each division is (supposedly) paying the same, the payout will be the same.

Why should owners at some clubs get more than others when their wages are the same.
