I thought Cup games were never covered?

They're not, problem is - on the old 'gas player' I could still listen to cup games though. Now I don't even have the option to listen to the game.

I tried last night and it said that due to rights ownership I can't listen. It's a small price to pay for being able to watch every league game, but still, it's annoying that by paying extra, i've lost the opportunity to listen to the cup games. Now i'll have to follow the forum online

It's been a while since I subscribed to one of these but how are the highlights packages nowadays? They could potentially offer more extended clips after the games are done maybe. Feeds into every football fan wanting to be an analyst these days.

The ifollow £40 per season subscription gives you access to brief highlights, extended highlights and uninterrupted 90 minute video of the game from midday the following day.

It's not the distance, but because there's an existing contract between the EFL and Sky that covers their operations in Ireland.

It works fine from the UK with a commercial VPN, but you won't be able to use TOR (or probably any free VPN because you won't get the bandwidth needed).

A "friend" tells me that you can find cup matches on P2P sites. At least all televised matches in the UK are covered and some others for international audiences. Hunt around. This same "friend", allegedly, had rigged up his computer to a large screen in a Kaohsiung hotel lobby due to Wifi restrictions in his room and watched an entire Cup game between Scunthorpe and Grimsby. Some hotel guests and staff were puzzled, but everyone seemed happy as my "friend" told them that is was Villa versus Newcastle.

Don't really know what that means, but it definitely tricked the location as the people on the live chat said I was im Paris..

My concern was whether my internet was stable enough. Emailed ifollow but they didn't care. Anyway, I bit the bullet and went for it - A bit jerky for 35 mins but bearable then nothing. Had to revert to radio commentary. Probably it for the rest of the season so I paying extra 65 quid for what i had last year. My new timetable means I don't get to watch HCMC either!. Season seems to be written off already.

Which VPN did you use? I used IPVanish today and it was terrible, couldn't get a clear picture.

ExpressVPN was fine for me, good quality, not HD but certainly watchable.

I have the UK £5 a month ifollow package and watched our game on my phone just fine this weekend using private Internet access vpn which is also £5 a month, which I've had that for years.

Using a VPN means that it changes your IP address which would trick the system to thinking that you are in a different country.

Yeah, I know exactly what a VPN is. But what UK subscriptions to iFollow allow people to watch live, and why would you need a VPN for a UK subscription anyway?

It seems to be a fault when you use the VPN that allows you to watch games on the smallest of subscription. Poor design which isn't a surprise coming from an EFL product.

Cheers Robie. Out of interest, can you watch games from other teams/matches the next day as well? I remember you always used to be able to listen to other commentaries.

No they have taken away the ability to do that now.

Aye, i have a UK subscription, and with a vpn on you can click watch live video and it let's you, so £45 instead of £110 by using a vpn.

You also don't need to leave the VPN on, it only needs to be on for the initial check, you can turn it off after that and the stream works fine if you don't refresh/reload it.

Bet it is. Not sure if I mentioned on here, but I actually decided not to get a season ticket this year so that would be very useful.
