Hi guys,

Came across this forum when looking for help with watching iFollow in the UK. Last season I had no problems using a paid VPN to access iFollow and watch all the games I wanted, however this year, I've had nothing but issues. Biggest problem I currently have is when I go to buy a match pass on my club's website (Bradford City), I get the error message "Your Access Is Restricted From This Location" when I try to log in, so I'm stuck. Now I have noticed some people stream games via an Amazon Firestick but unsure of how to do this. If anyone can help with either of these issues, it would be much appreciated!

Thanks

It should be banned across the board, Saturday. Tuesday, abroad, mars wherever.

Whereas that’s not so good on folks away from the ground it’s going to be open to misuse and folks will find a way round it.

Abolish it and be done.

Don't talk rubbish Adam, it's a chance for money cash for some clubs, I know you have one call customers to fund you until they run out, but other clubs don't have that luxery.

Until there is proof it is detrimental to attendances and not making money from people who normally don't go, you can't have any idea whether it is bad or not.

Ha sorry, I’ve just had 3 weeks off the beer and well, yeah.

I’m not convinced by it at all, taking into account I’m one that would benefit from it not loving so close to home. If it is to happen it would make sense if all monies went into a central pot and was divvied out.

So say Grimsby come to Mansfield on a Tuesday as you did this season, 100 Grimsby folk watch it from home - you get that money as opposed to Mansfield getting gate receipts etc. Or visa versa. Hnm

Yeah but if they were not going to go to Mansfield anyway, how have you lost anything?

‘Have you lost anything’ argument is rudimentary at best.

About to say.

Should we be in the same league with Grimsby next season and play on a Tuesday night we should halve the following to say 300. That’s extra money mansfield get and Grimsby miss out on £6,000 (assuming the average ticket is £20)

Cracking commercial sense

That would make sense if 600 turned up normally but now only 300 turn up and 300 watch on iFollow.

I'm talking about if 600 turn up and an extra 100 watch on iFollow. That's 100 extra that didn't watch before.

Like I said there is currently no proof ifollow is making attendances lower so until we know otherwise you can't say its a bad thing and I can't say it's a good thing because clubs make more money from it.

All I know is if its on iFollow and I can't make the game, the club have just made money from me that they had no chance of getting before.

To be fair, having watched quite a few games on iFollow I can't see how you would choose it ahead of going if it is a game you can get to. It doesn't compare. If you weren't going to go anyway, then it is excellent and a bit of extra money that nobody was going to otherwise get.

Where I think it would have an impact is in future years with a new generation of supporters who wouldn't be in the habit of going away. If you're already going to away games, you won't stop to watch a hit and miss feed on a laptop screen, but in a few years younger supporters might never develop that habit if they are used to streaming them.

I don't think it would affect home attendances, though. The sort of casual fan a club like Colchester would need to attract isn't going to suddenly decide to stay at home and stream the game online instead of going to the pub watching Soccer Saturday. And, again, it doesn't compare so those who already go would still choose to go I reckon.
