Yeah and he is shite too
When on loan with us he came on as sub against Notts county in his first game and looked really good. Hard working, feisty, and made some good runs. Unfortunately missed a late one on one with keeper and that was basically his highlight. The rest of the month was completely forgettable

He was absolutely on fire when he got his move to Barnsley, culminating in a match winning display at Macclesfield where he looked classy and unplayable. I truly believe his goals would have kept us up comfortably. But then he heard we'd knocked back a bid from Barnsley and declared himself unfit to play in the next match. He made it clear he didn't want to stay at we gave Barnsley the nod and off he went. Then Barnsley sacked their manager and the new guy didn't fancy him. 3 years later he was back at The Shay on loan, looking several leagues above his natural level. Funny how life turns out. :ds:

Just for reference after his megabucks move to Barnsley Shaun Tuton came here on loan and now plays for Alfreton I believe.
We had him on loan here for a bit too and Hurst was playing him and leaving either Bogle or Amond on the bench. :bl:
Edit: shit it wasn’t Tuton it was somebody else, wrong season.

Yeah I was getting my memories a bit confused and twisted there, I remembered there was somebody on loan that Hurst kept picking instead of Podge and Bogle (Tomlinson) and I can remember being away at Mansfield having to park the car on a grass verge on this windy road and walking back to it after the game we saw a few Town players walking up there including Tuton and I had it in my head that it was in our non league days but of course that would’ve been our first season back in League 2.

I really feel for them, because we've all been there but at the same time this is hilariously enjoyable watching...

Ha I watched this at the weekend and his Nanna is even more biased towards Barnet than my lad is towards GTFC.

I think my favourite bit is when they announce 6 mins of injury time and matey says something like "doesn't matter, they're just gonna keep playing until they score" and someone off camera goes "yep". It's funny because you can sympathise with them so much. Those matches when you're convinced everything is going against you.

I don’t…they’re Barnet fans plus somebody wearing a replica kit deserves being humiliated in.

Haha I think it's quite nice, not enough young lads taking their nans to the footy in my opinion. Even if she did call Blundell Park a shithole.

Rare to see a manager do this kind of thing publicly about his own team, but it’s a shame we didn’t get any analysis of Woking sticking four past us by just lobbing the ball into the box.

I have to say SOC (if I may shorten your handle), this was the best this that has happened to SUFC in the last 5 years bar none. It wasn't like it was a chore for him to spend the time and it is realistic, open and frank. Three things that are lacking a lot of the time in professional sport.

I would be interested to know what you think when you have seen it in its entirety.

Cheers again for your feedback.

Yeah, I'll let you know when I've finished it definitely. I do love a good fans forum after a big event. There's a good amount of detail about the process of the interview, which is really interesting too. Don't really recall a club talking about this before, it's certainly never happened at Grimsby unless I've missed it.
