Margate like ourselves have struggled for goals thus far.

True, but your defence is tighter than a nun's whatsit!

There's always one isn't there! At least their money is legit & organic I suppose (much like the food of choice of the bearded Hamlet support).

I've come to terms that the only way we'll ever get out this league through the play offs... given the situation with us at the moment the window for that is ever decreasing too.

Yeah, I've no particular axe to grind against Dulwich - obvz they're far preferable to the likes of £££££hawk and £££gate. It 's just always a tad frustrating when there perpetually seems be one team with a significantly bigger budget, meaning the play-offs become the only realistic aspiration for everyone else. As you suggest, that frustration is compounded by the knowledge that we face a pretty uncertain future. The resources we have at our disposal now might be the best we'll have for some time...

Prolific Isthmian striker John Sands has signed for Boston of the Conference North.
Do we think he will cope with the step up? Big loss to Leiston.

So Wimbledon fans vote overwhelmingly in favour of selling Kingsmeadow to Chelsea. Not much has been said by them about Kingstonian in all this, hopefully they're not dropping them in it and they can at least have a say in this. If they can't and aren't given guarantees of tenancy then this sale shouldn't happen, AFC were meant to be against clubs being displaced from their home towns/boroughs.

Yup, last shred of dignity in my eyes. But, if you can have what you really truly want then why care about anyone you step on, be it highly hypocritical or not, to get there... like... setting up a football league team in Milton Keynes or selling a ground that shouldn't belong to you to a faceless corporate machine like Chelsea.

I understand. I'd do it to them given half the chance.

Yeah, got very little time for them, frankly. They're not different, they're not special. As ever self-interest trumps all other considerations. Fuck 'em.

Oh, but they are slightly different. Most football clubs don't pretend to stand up for values & beliefs, pulling the wool over the eyes of any news paper with a hard-on for their own little sob story.

There was apparently just 19 people who voted against the sale... I'd like to say I appreciate that. Those 19 are the REAL supporters of Wimbledon, the non-hypocritical minority who actually give a shit about what that putrid football club says it gives a shit about.

To be fair when your board have been making noises about not having a long term future at Kingsmeadow (or whatever it was), there could be a set of fans who believed them and felt it made no major difference to you to sell (playing devil's advocate a bit here).

Really hope this doesn't screw you over, and I don't understand why Chelsea are unwilling to work with K's for them to continue to share for the long term?

Irrelevant from supporters of a club set up under the auspices that the fans are the club, not the board of directors. They are fully are of the Kingstonian supporters point of view on this & our almost unanimous disagreement with how the board of directors handled the situation.

If any of them thought "oh the board of K's wants to move so then everyone involved wants to move" they are, by proximity of the situation, legitimizing the old Wimbledon's move to Milton Keynes & therefor further devaluing what little remains of the club's morals.

Really hope this doesn't screw you over, and I don't understand why Chelsea are unwilling to work with K's for them to continue to share for the long term?

The validity of Chelsea not wanting us there is in question, they've remained silent on the issue & our board have also not commented on any ground sharing possibilities afaik - which leads us to believe there is nothing to negotiate, otherwise they'd be negotiating it!

Reading the last couple of postings, I've lost a lot of respect for AFC Wimbledon as a club.

Getting a new ground should not come at the expense of another club losing theirs. I was always under the impression that the Dons were run by fans who genuinely cared about the well being of clubs at lower levels, setting up things like supporters direct, but doing this puts them in the same boat as the likes of Winkleman. Poor.

Hope Kingstonian can survive this and remain in the borough.

My worry for Kingstonian would be that Chelsea will give even less of a toss about them than Wimbledon seem to have done.

It's a reasonable enough point but, much as I have been critical of them and much I don't think they've played their hand particularly wisely, I reckon our board were in a fairly difficult position. The agreement negotiated with AFC Wimbledon seemingly affords us far less protection than we thought it did. Kicking up a fuss would likely only result in a less "generous" settlement than we're expecting from our wombling overlords. Whilst I would probably maintain that it was a mistake for them to come out so early with a declaration that Kingsmeadow is no longer a viable long-term option, I think it should be self-evident to Wombles that they're selling us out, even if the Ks board have made it easier for them to argue otherwise.

Re the Chelsea situation - from what I gather from an interview conducted with one of the co-chairmen, we haven't actually had any discussions with Chelsea. To a large extent that's understandable - there's a selling party and there's a buying party, and we are neither. The suggestion is that they wouldn't want us there. Why that is I don't know. What rankles is that nobody seems to have made any effort to explore the possibility of us continuing to play there. Our board seem adamant that it's in our best long-term interest to move. The rest of us remain slightly unsure as to how they've arrived at that conclusion given that there's currently no viable alternative site.

Pretty much. His debut for Chelmsford was against us last season, had a great chance to pull a goal back for them but fluffed his lines. I don't think he'll cut the mustard in the Conference North but we'll see...

Went to East Thurrock 1-1 Wingate & Finchley today. Difficult conditions for both teams, wind swirling every which way and the pitch wasn't exactly conducive to passing football. However both teams did try and pass it about and sometimes had some very nice pass and move. First half was very meh, East Thurrock had much more of the play but I can't remember them actually having a meaningful shot. About 10 minutes from the end of the half W&F started to play - lovely goal, some great passing ending in a back heel flick Ronaldo would have been proud of into the number 11 who finished very well across the keeper into the bottom corner.
2nd half I witnessed why East Thurrock have scored so many goals this season. From the kick off they basically went for it, a formation that looked like 2-2-6 and W&F just played on the counter. W&F had all the best chances at the start of the half though, the E.Thurrock keeper kept them in the game, couple of very decent saves and one good block from a 1 on 1.
About 15 minutes from the end E.Thurrock just ramped up the pressure, had one cleared off the line and started getting chances. W&F will be disappointed at conceding so late but the defending was shambolic, they never cleared a cross they had about 10 opportunities to get out and ended up leaving a player completely alone to head in from about 8 yards out.
Right at the end W&F ended with 10 men, I was over the other side but even from my position it looked a clear stamp after the two number 6s went in for a ball and the Wingate player seemed to take offence at the slide tackle. The ref, who was pretty decent and hadn't shown a card all game, had no choice.
Decent game even if that wind did make it bloody freezing.

Were there more flags than W & F fans there?

Lewes 1-2 Kingstonian

Up until the last 5 minutes of the game it looked like this was going to be a very disappointing defeat to a Lewes side that have been struggling so far this season... then on comes Ricky Sappleton off of the bench to score twice & snatch victory from the jaws of defeat!

Back in to the play off places!

Sadly not - no flags at all. Judging on the people that celebrated their goal I'd say there was 6 away fans in attendance.

We're up to 6th place in the north. Haven't lost in 15 games now and we're playing good football too from the few games I've seen.

I was so confused following this game on fwp. It was 1-0 and then it was suddenly 1-3 (with a ONE MINUTE HAT-TRICK), then 1-2, 1-1, 1-0 again, 1-1 again and finally 1-2 :conf: Important win though.

Wow! I never knew they could deduct goals as well as award them! Maybe we'll see a team scoring minus goals at some point too; like Kingstonian 8, VCD -4

Bognor 2 - Dulwich 3

An excellent game by all accounts and a great win for the Hamlet against a very good Bognor side. Good to see we've broken our run of poor results against them. 7 wins on the bounce for us now.

Yes I was surprised to see no Wingate flags at Rookery Hill either.
Considering the Rocks are still without hamstring victim Sam Higgins, and had current leading scorer Lewis Smith serving a one match FA suspension, plus a number of other players out injured, they must have been well pleased to take a point from a very good Wingate side.

Anyone here seen Met Police? If so, what can we expect on Saturday?* Joe Turner was with us last season so I know what he's like, but the other 10 players...

*No awful police puns/jokes please.

Jekyll & Hyde sort of team. We owned them 7-0 at Kingsmeadow at the start of the season but lost to them the other week at their place. You'll be very unlucky/shit if you don't beat them.
