I four one thought some Isthmian league action did happen today, and I'm not one four imagining things usually.

For instance Carshalton followed last weeks home defeat to Kent league Herne Bay with a home defeat to Combined Counties League Chipstead

All my fault, I'm afraid. First match I've been along to for some time and, um, yeah... my presence was clearly a bad omen :err: Tbf, 4-1 didn't really reflect the balance of play but our defence looked uncharacteristically leaky. ETU were good I thought and were simply a lot more ruthless than us.

Before anyone talks about today's Isthmian action... it didn't happen. Today didn't happen. We are all imagining it. Nothing to see here.

Strange... it seems there was no Isthmian action on boxing day to speak of either... :dk:

Was what I was expecting. Get working on your 6-1 puns.

I think 'ha, ha you lost 5-1' was almost as imaginative. Almost.

Still best to get the slump in early, prevents disappointment

I say chaps. It's all gone very quiet on here.
'Amlet and 'Ampton opening up a slight gap after todays games.
Still pretty tight though eh ??

It's all gone tits up for us. At least we kept the score down this time at 3:1 to the beavers.

Still very close and your team have ben quietly sneaking up on the rails! We had a very hard-fought 2-0 win against Enfield yesterday.
Our pitch is holding up really well. the groundsman (whoever he is!) is doing a fab job. Another ridiculous crowd of 2,249 at the game - it's all gone rather bonkers!

Good crowd at Hampton yesterday too, I see.

Dulwich and Hampton definitely look like the two standout teams this year. The other three playoff places are probably up for grabs. Think I'll be a bit gutted if Dowson takes Hampton up.

Some good cheer at last for Ks though - Andre McCollin has returned! And he's gone and bagged a brace in a 3-1 win over Burgess Hill! Lovely stuff.

The dream is finally being lived... we defeated Leiston 2:0 at their Victory Road ground to progress to the final 4 of the Alan Turvey Super Trophy sponsored by a bloke called Rob for the first time since 1997.

I'm not entirely sure who we are playing in the semi final, I think I must have missed the draw through all the hysteria but I *think* it's the winner of Sittingbourne v Corinthian-Casuals at home (not that we play midweek cup games at home - another thing to be thankful to the Wombles for...)

4:2 win over Needham Market at Kingsmeadow today after being 2:0 down. Good to see former academy player Malachi Hudson get on the score sheet (twice) with our Lord & saviour Andre McCollin also banging one in. The other goalscorer was Dan Bennett.

Back up to 7th place. With Dulwich Hamlet & Hampton both only managing a draw each we are slowly closing the gap!

Only one team above us managed to record a win which is good (admittedly four of them were involved in matches against one another). Now that the three teams we lost to are occupying the league's top three places, I feel a little bit better about our recent rubbish stint.

Hello my Surrey friends (and yes I include Dulwich in there as I'm old skool). Happy New Year. Thought I'd pop in and say hello, but more importantly many thanks for taking McCollin back as it seems to have firked Cray up big time (mind you, what was he doing there in the first place?).

The Urchins are, as you'd expect, the best team up here in the Norf (as we were, of course, in the Ryman Prem last season too), or at least that's the propaganda each of our title rivals peddles. Purcell's like a kid in a sweetshop. But looks like we'll have to settle for a play-off place as Sudbury are tearing away on their plastic pitch. Surprise package is Tilbury (who have a fan on here occasionally) but the rest is more or less shaking out as forecast.

Anyway it's nice to be winning a few games and visiting lots of hick towns in East Anglia. Keep up the good work in keeping this thread going as I do look in occasionally and hope to be able to spar more purposefully next year. I'm not counting any chickens mind.

Nice to hear from you again! Rather selfishly of me I hope we do not find ourselves in the same division next season. I do hope that your lot get back up to the rock star life that is the Isthmian Premier, however, the man you mentioned is poised to deliver us to the greatness of National League Conference South.

Not sure how lord McCollin ended up at Cray... I think we wanted him back as soon as he left Aldershot (as did our former boss Dowson over at Hampton) but for some reason had to wait for this mid season gift of optimism.

Seemed like a decent point for Dulwich at East Thurrock, but apparently (I wasn't there!) we absolutely murdered them in the first half and should have been at least four up at half time. Admittedly we've won a few games where we've been outplayed, but we've lost and drawn so, so many where we've played other teams off the park. I hope our profligacy doesn't come back to bite us.

Looking at the remaining fixtures, Tonbridge and Bognor look to have the hardest last third of the season, while East Thurrock look to possibly have the easiest with lots of games against lower mid-table teams. Hampton also look to have a lot of games against teams towards the bottom.

Nice to have you drop by. I do hope you make it back up (if Dulwich get promoted there's a serious possibility myself and Paddy may be left all alone again in Ryman Prem land). Obviously, I'm discounting the possibility that we might escape this wretched league as someone needs to fulfill the role of glass half empty Ks fan.

Still, if our man McCollin keeps scoring goals for fun who knows. Bagged another brace tonight in a win against W&F. Up to sixth, just outside those playoff places.

I thought our match against ETU was similar in that the scoreline (4-1!) really didn't reflect the balance of play. They looked a good side and they took their chances well but, whereas the general consensus seemed to be that we were well beaten by Dulwich and Hampton, that really wasn't the case against East Thurrock. Still, they look a real threat now - second only by virtue of an inferior goal difference.

Frannie Collin, Steve Watt & Alex Brown all now at Leatherhead

All key players from our Ryman winning season. Either Leatherhead have suddenly come into some money or they taken some big wage cuts

Frannie was on £600-700 a week for us

That tenner I whacked on Bognor to win the league at 20/1 a few weeks back is looking good.

Raymond... On last night's showing, I'm surprised if Mr Collin is on £6-7 per week! He was woeful against the Angels who battered Leatherhead 4-0.. and it could and should have been quite a few more but for the agility of the Tanners keeper.

Aberstone...I think East Thurrock are the best team I've seen all season long and they're banging in goals for fun. Wouldn't be surprised to see them pip Hamlet for top spot. It's very tight at the top especially those play-off spots.
