I just don't see ETU lasting the pace, but I guess that's just me thinking based on the size of the club overall compared to the others in the mix & not really going on form

It's been announced that the Alan Turkey Super Awesome Cup final will be played on Dipre FC's plastic pitch in Carshalton.

The (only) positive, if we get through the semis, is that it's one of the closest Isthmian grounds to us so not much travelling involved.

Actually I've just thought of one more positive... it isn't Imber Court.

Really? The Isthmian league cup final is going to be held at Colston Avenue? Is that really the best the IL can do? Leaving aside my obvious bias, it's an awful place to watch Football - no view from behind the goals, and whilst the terrace down the side is big, it's also crumbling and offers a poor view of the pitch if there is a decent sized crowd. Plus the temporary clubhouse from 2000 and a tiny main stand. Colston Avenue would never host the SSC final

Agree, totally... & what makes it worse is that Dipre will be making money from it.

However, as I said previously at least it's local (providing we make it to the final) & it's not Imber fucking Court.

Imperial Fields would be a better host venue in the Northern Surrey/Southern London suburban badlands than flippin' Colston Avenue. And you wouldn't be giving living turd of the year Paul 'King of Clipart crest design' Dipre either cash or publicity.

But this is the Isthmian league we're talking about. They probably see poor relations with supporters, local residents and the local council, and Clipart crest design as a badge of honour, something to aspire to.

Imperial Fields isn't owned by T&MU though is it? I don't think the Isthmian committee like playing their showpiece (lol) games at venues not owned directly by a club or ownership group connected to the club, so the hosting team make money out of the game... even if it is a detestable cretin such as Dipre.

It seems the Ryman league are quite the fan of 3G pitches

The last 4 finals have been played on them. Maidstone twice, Whyteleafe & now Carshalton

Bill & Ricay just beat Farnborough 2:0 to go in to the promotion play off zone although they've played more times then anyone else.

Current promotion race:

1 - If Beavers could fly (PLD: 33, PTS: 64)
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
2 - Sneaky nobodys now in second place (PLD: 33, PTS: 63)
3 - Clearly too hip for automatic promotion (PLD: 34, PTS: 61)
4 - Here by virtue of playing 35 games (PLD: 35, PTS: 59)
5 - Sutton United in Kent (PLD: 31, PTS: 58)
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
6 - Would rather win the FA Trophy (PLD: 29, PTS: 56)
7 - Just biding our time outside the top 5 until the time is right (PLD: 31, PTS: 55)
8 - Probably a bit much for these guys & under to catch up now (PLD: 33, PTS: 52)

Looking good for the Angels (atm)... 3 wins on the spin now and only 1 goal (freak effort!) conceded in those games. The two goals the Angels put past Staines on Saturday were pure class (we won't mention the penalty miss). It certainly makes for an entertaining season with the likes of K's, ETU, Bognor and Hampton coming up in quick succession for the Angels.

Angels played out a 1-1 draw with Grays at the mightily-impressive Aveley Football Club..... I'd been there before a few years ago and it was a pleasure to go back to the salubrious environs of South Essex. Yes, I'm joking, the place is a f**king dump. How the hell it passes any ground grading at all is beyond me. If you haven't been there before, and you think Whitehawk is a bad, you're in for a treat!

There's not many grounds in Essex that aren't a dump tbf! One of the few good memories I have of our stint in the pub league south is that we didn't have to go to Essex, well, once or twice to play Chatham before they got shifted north.

Yeah Aveleys ground is certainly somewhere im in no rush to ever go back to. To call it a dump is an understatement

Feel sorry for Grays fans who have to go there all the time. Its depressing enough going there once, let alone 20+ times a year!!

Chatham on a whole is a right shithole, but their ground is actually pretty good....in my opinion one of the better ones in that league

I always try to pop along whenever Maidstone are away/i cant be bothered to go.

Yeah, we're not going anywhere this season. We lose every time we come up against a half-decent outfit *sigh*

Unfortunately, I missed the Angel's win at K's as I decided to head off to Boring Wood for United's fifth win of the season (get in!) .... by all accounts the Angels turned on the style in the second half.... let's hope they continue that form tonight with the visit to Stad de Longmead of in-form Bognor... if it hadn't been for the re-arrangement to a Tuesday night when some poxy team take on Messi et al on the box, this could've been a big crowd for the Angels... ah well, those who care will be there!

Having seen all of the title contenders in recent weeks, Angels and Bognor were the best two out of the top eight. But is there some reason why Hamlet can't seem to play when it's muddy? Last year all over again...I'd like to see them go up, but I don't think it'll happen.

Dulwichs style of football just doesnt suit muddy/boggy pitches....thats the problem

They always start great but when the conditions get bad there slick passing football doesnt work

Bognor visited Longmead last night and tore the Angels apart. I thought ETU looked useful, but Bognor were just another class. Their team has strength in depth and looked very comfortable on the ball all over the field. The Angels never really got going and looked a bit jaded after a recent run of good form. If BWG's chip had crept in after about 20 mins it could have been a different game, but after that The Rocks had the run of the entire pitch. Prior should be playing at a higher level. The Angels suffered two crucial casualties last night with Nick Wheeler going off at half-time and Sonny Miles suffering what looked like another shoulder injury... two very vital players for the Angels this season and hopefully they won't be out for long.

Next up at Longmead... Hampton... and who have Torquay got next? Yep, in-form Bognor..... two very tough games.

So it looks like AFC Sudbury up as Champions in the North and Folkestone in the South. What`s peoples thoughts on that?

Invicta look a very decent side this season and have a good little set up at Cheriton Road with a ground that would put some to shame at higher levels. If the Angels don't make it up this term, it'll be good to have Folkestone visit Longmead again. Have seen many Kent League games between the two and they always bring a decent following.

Not really fussed who comes up from the north/south to be honest... as long as there's no bank rolled sides next season (providing we don't go up...)

Tonbridge losing at home to Bognor makes things even more interesting.

I see ex stone Ian Draycott is still banging in the goals for Folkestone...71 goals in less than 2 seasons :eyes:

Good player who for some odd reason we never gave a chance at Ryman Premier level

I know. Chessington already have a football team (who may or may not still be included in our Stade de Chessington plans) & moving in to a new ground there would make me feel like we are 'doing a Wimbledon' to them. Unfortunately our board don't seem to have a plan B...

Kingsmeadow? Chelsea don't want us there.

King George's Field? If we went & set up shop there (which we still may be doing on a temporary basis in the interim of leaving KM) then we would really be 'doing a Wimbledon' to Corinthian-Casuals.

Beveree? Not even in the borough, again though it's another temporary option while Chessington is being built.

Wombledome or GGL? No. Just so much no.

Then there's Geoff Chapple's gracious offer of letting us play at Kingfield... as much as it's appreciated from our greatest manager in living memory Woking is ridiculously far & as seen with Hayes & Yeading it would be a bad idea.

Anyhow doom & gloom to one side... We've got the magic of the Alan Turkey Cup tomorrow night. Wingate & Finchley come down to our home KM in what is quickly becoming our only shot at some kind of glory this season.

CARSHALTON, CARSHALTON, WE'RE THE FAMOUS KINGSTONIAN & WE'RE GOING TO CARSHALTON!

Beat Wingate on penalties last night so we are in to the league cup final where I believe we face Faversham Town of the Division One South.

So the farce that is Farnborough continues on and on
http://www.farnboroughfc.co.uk/2016/farnborough-fc-statement/

Cant pay off their debts, but can some how afford to spend 300-400k on a 4G pitch.....what a joke!!

I just wish this shower would fuck off already. How many times can they get away with mugging off creditors and then racking up debts? Terrell Forbes and Dennis Oli joining them on deals until the end of 2017, those two won't be cheap having been playing at Hemel this season.

K's have signed Joe Turner from the Met Police, another ex-Stone to go to Kingsmeadow. Should do well there.
