Apart from Alty who are a club I have a lot of time for and will be an insane awayday, what an unappealing set of semi finalists ffs.

I hope alty come up, would’ve done the game had they not had the bye.

I’m firmly in Barnet’s camp for these play offs. They deserve it over the course of the season. The manager down their Brennan has done an incredible job, they’re a proper outfit now, really good going forward

We came down with them back in 2018 too so fitting to come back together.

Alty would be my second choice of course.

Solihull- poxy ground and no fans. Bromley dirty anti football with unpleasant manager. Two cheeks around the arsehole of non league.

With Barnet being a wanky away day theres now only Altrincham battling against the forces of evil in the NL playoffs.

Guess I'm firmly in the Alty camp then.

Yeah Brennan would have seemed a much more likely candidate for our job than the bloke who did get it.

Quite right, nothing like the Mansfield conference years when *checks notes* Histon and Rushden & Diamonds made the play-offs.

Yeah but the only year that matters is when you win it when *checks notes* Luton finished 7th, Lincoln 16th, Cambridge 14th and Stockport got relegated!

Got me down a bit of a rabbit hole looking at clubs that were in the NL in the Blue Square era, it's unbelievable to think some of these clubs were only 1 league away from the FL

Histon, Sailsbury, Grays, Hayes and Yeading, Telford

Top manager is Brennan. Really like how he comes across too, respectful & knowledgeable. Been mega complimentary about us all season. Polar opposite to Woodman in the Bromley dugout.

Grays had some quality players to be fair - Aaron McLean, Michael Kightly, Freddie Eastwood stick out.

Telford are quite well supported for a step 2/3 side aren't they. Certainly more potential there than a lot of tinpot sides who come up at NL level.

The first time we dropped in 2010 we won away at title favourites Crawley first game and I thought it was gonna be a right walk in the park.
Then next we played Hayes and Yeading at home - and lost 2-1. :bg:

Watched the Moors game. Nobody there, truly pathetic for a play off game.

Solihull v Alty in the final could break the all time record for the lowest ever final maybe?

Alty for me...easy access from Manchester and maybe about 45 minutes from us. Solihull second...again close and Solihull is one of the few reasonable areas of the dump that is Birmingham. Bromley 3rd because i love a London away day. All 3 purely because I like having a new team and ground that I don't think we'd ever played before. I'd imagine there'd be quite a few teams that will outnumber home fans at these grounds.

It’d probably beat the 8049 who attended the 2019 playoff final between Salford and Fylde

Barnet even at The Hive is an easier London away day than Bromley.

Food and Drink in a decent spot and then just hop on the Northern Line. Bromley is a pain in the arse.

Not sure why Barney is considered a shit away day? Have your fun in London and get the tube out for the match, same as going Wembley really.

That being said, would prefer Alty for distance and a new face.

Same here. We beat Stevenage 5 nil, thought it was going to be a breeze. 'Bonkers' Brian Little taking us straight back up.

Fifteen years later....

The Conference just hasn't been the same since Blue Square stopped sponsoring it. Pretty sure it had its own forum on the league website.

Alan Alger tipping us to go down every season.

Histon got particularly close and are probably the smallest club out of those mentioned, even smaller than Hayes and Yeading!

Must have been difficult for Cambridge to suddenly be competing with a local village team that were superior for a short time.
