I'm not saying it's a good reason, I'm saying it's a reason. Ronaldo probably has to pay much more than anyone else and I'm guessing that the reason he didn't pay his taxes was that he (wrongly) felt that it was unfair.

Of course rich people avoid it, rampantly*, but it's a socially unacceptable and irresponsible thing to do.

And yes the government wastes tax on many areas, mostly military, but that's what you get from democracy.

These Spanish cases are somewhat unusual as even Mourinho, far more intelligent than the other high profile accused, will have little to no understanding of tax law and will be doing what an adviser tells him.

The Spanish tax adviser to the rich community will be reeling at these allegations. Good.
