I must profess to holding genuine concerns for Jose ,he just desperately wants to be heard ,but to the world and his wife it sounds as irksome as someone rubbing a polystyrene block across their chin. The fact that we finished second last season is a damning indictment of the strength of the teams in chasing pack last season, rather than a glowing report on United.

None of this is knee-jerk.

I said before the season even kicked off that we were heading for a sixth placed finish and that Jose wouldn't see out the season - it's still very early but I haven't gained any hope.

You did mention that the season was only three games old - my point was that the attitude shown towards our failures and issues is older than that, a new season isn't always necessarily a clean slate.

Mourinho's a calculated man - he may have applauded the fans out of appreciation, or he may just be trying to keep them sweet at a time when a large portion of them are getting sick of him, his general attitude and his football.
