I wouldn't say so.

Winning fuck all and finishing second is objectively better than finishing fourth and winning fuck all, unless the difference in quality and expectations between the two clubs in question is chasmlike which I don't think it is. Making it to a final means nothing in and of itself.

To expand on my previous reply, in terms of confidence moving forward and overall achievement, reaching the final of the Champions League is more of an achievement than reaching the FA Cup final. Of course, neither is winning anything if we lose to Real, but the difference can't be ignored.

As for 2nd or 4th. I'd see where you were coming from if you put up a challenge and were pipped to the title by City. But this season the rest of the teams are so far behind it's not worth the argument.

Quite honestly, if Liverpool fail to win the final, this will be a bit "two bald men fighting over a comb", won't it really.

We've had an amazing spring, the kind we've longed for since 2007 and will remember no matter what.

United have been arguing amongst themselves if there are better alternatives to Mourinho. Which is "objectively" the better season is not that interesting, there isn't a sane fan in the world that would choose United's season over ours.

Would you say the same if you had dropped into the Europa League at the end of the season?

If you win the CL, I'd rather have had that season.

If you lose, I'd rather keep the one we've had, with the higher league finish.

I'm sane.

That just looks like a picture of a very unhappy Mourinho.

Yeah well you also thought Sanchez chose United for other reasons than money so you're basically United's Rawk.

We don't really have a RAWK-style poster on here, in terms of United anyway.

Who do you reckon would be the Liverpool representative from here?

Well everyone but me and Pags. So we're in a constant argument with our own fans, the other fans, and fairly regularly ourselves. I admire us.

A guid dram
Saw Mourinho on the news earlier, looking like his face is tripping him, refusing and blanking transfer questions from reporters. Surely the fans are tired of this, and the season hasn't even started yet!

Possibly just an inane grin that arrived on his face with the onset of fear.

Following his comments over the weekend, are Utd fans still happy to keep Jose?

Though his complaining is both predictable and tedious, I have to admit I've got a bit of sympathy with him this time round. Not the slagging off of his squad but more his issue with the club's transfer activity over the Summer.

City are well out in front and Mahrez is a very good addition. Liverpool have obviously gone big and strengthened several areas they were struggling in.

Despite finishing second, there is a chasm between them and City and it does strike me as odd that they haven't strengthened considerably. Is trust the big issue because it obviously isn't money. I would imagine the club aren't desperate to spend 60m+ on 29 year olds like Willian and Mourinho has never really trusted youngsters. Surely they either back him or find a new manager?

I have sympathy with him in terms of the lack of transfers, we are falling even further behind City and seemingly being overtaken by Liverpool (on paper, at least).

In general, though, I'm sick of Mourinho's overal attitude of negativity (both football and non-football oriented) and not far off giving up on him entirely.
