I always relish that kind of thing though, when a cup draw results in you playing the same team twice in a row... adds a bit of spice to what would otherwise be a regulation league encounter and a meeting in an unloved cup.

Correct,this game is in the week starting october 5th then the league game on the 10th. Please knock us out i hate this cup, needless to say i won't be going but will be there for the league game.

Neither is Coventry, but they have to divide the country into four equal quarters, so those in the middle could end up anywhere, Think Coventry were North West last season.

I can understand going North/South, but splitting it into four regions, with only eight clubs in each, is bloody ridiculous. It makes a tinpot trophy even more tinpot.

I guess they're desperately trying to make the competition a little more palatable for the clubs involved by reducing travelling times as much as possible.

Personally, though I'm disappointed we went out. Not just because we'd have gotten Blackpool, but because we like to thing this is our competition, and because we were enjoying the momentum. That game at Vale Park is the only game this season where we haven't scored.

That's my point. It's a stupid concept and forces false geographical pairings. Should be North/South and that's it. All this does is make an already second rate competition into a third rate one.

But splitting it north/south only has the same issues. Teams in the middle belt could be in either and be forced to travel miles for a game. Once you have regional groupings, the issue is there. Making it north/south or NE/NW/SE/SW matters not.

For what it's worth, I think the current set up is the best option. Not many would travel too far for a JPT game so confining it to 4 areas is better. Obviously there's a few that will feel hard done by but that's life. No point in whining about it.
