It really isn't a problem staying in it, teams have big squads for a reason so they can easily field suitable sides for mid-week and then weekend games, but at the same time I don't think many of us would care too much about going out. You sort of coast through the first few rounds not bothered about it and then all of a sudden you find yourself in the Area Final and a game away from a Wembley fixture which is always nice, not least for the finance it brings in.

I didn't go but from what I can tell, Dagenham were very good and we were very bad (again), and the score could easily have been 4 or 5. We're there for the taking in every game at the moment.

To be fair, we were without Carroll, Amevor, Sprockel, Thompson, Noble, Milsom, Adams and Hewitt today, who would all at least be in contention to start.

Mansfield didn't look as arsed as they did for the league game and we basically ripped them to shreds, should've had six or seven if not for some very wayward finishing.

We're very good on the ball and lightning quick, if Moniz can add the less sexy parts to our game then we could be really impressive.

Well done County, we were wank haha the irony of scoring a penalty also. Does the JPT count?

Totally outplayed us, although it's a minor cup game and we made changes you have to be professional and get your basics right which we didn't do tonight. The better team won.

Also worth saying that if any team doesn't really look that interested in the competition and lets is just have the ball, as Mansfield did tonight, we're capable of battering them. Wouldn't be surprised if we did well in this but keep struggling with battles in the league.

Second time our reserves/youth team have lost away from home at the overwhelming favourites in the last minute in cup competitions this season. Excellent work, lads.

Was impressed by Campbell though, very quick and never give up on a ball.

He was great apart from the fact he should've had a hat-trick and a couple of assists. That one where he hit the post early on is basically the reason why Krystian Pearce is still in League Two.

Our third-string were knocked out by Exeter 2-0 and now we're getting a fine for making too many changes. What a load of bollocks, there's a reason this competition is treated with so much contempt. It's not worth the effort when there are higher priorities in the league and far more prestigious competitions to be involved in so at least don't penalise clubs for giving the youngsters a go.

I left at 2-0. No idea what the idea with Chapman playing as a fucking sweeper was. Not going to overreact but Nathan Thomas, Adi Yusseff and Beardsley were all shite tonight. Will give the first 2 a chance but Beardsley is a joke of a footballer.

Well done Notts. Well deserved winners, McLeod took his goal well. Thought the game was shite first half and you just took control in the 2nd.

Beat a much weakened Pompey tonight 2-0. We made 6 changes but still had a strong ish lineup. Goals from Harley and Nicholls.

Fair play to 500 plus Portsmouth away fans who made the trip. Top effort.

Mansfield were horrific. Tonight was basically glimpses of the fact we can be good - Burke completely ran the show and McLeod was a massive threat throughout. 2 weeks off should do us good now, I think we'll have an extra 6 first-team players to choose from by then, everyone except Murray and Milsom (if he even exists) basically.

Krystian Pearce was terrible, not seen a centre-back get terrorised like that in a while, got out-muscled and out-paced every time the ball went in the final third and his head basically went for the last 20-30 minutes. The other centre-back (Collins?) wasn't much better either.

Anyway, glad that's done with, don't need to think about League 2 football for a fortnight now. Glorious.

I think Colchester need a striker. If they had a decent one they'd have won. Anyway, we are through and I want Gillingham away.

How many games are you banned for for swearing at the fans? Can't remember it ever happening

Green shoots of recovery, really should have been six or seven not counting the two clear penalties

For a team which had serious money troubles not too long ago, I don't know how I feel about the fact that Pompey just decided to pick up a fine for no good reason and make an unnecessary 11 changes. Just doesn't sit right with me I guess.

Anyway, they were rubbish I thought and we were comfortable. Could have been more but we never bothered getting out of second gear. Good support from the Portsmouth fans as per though.

Onto the next one. Hope we have another home tie in the next round.

We played a very very young side and by the end had about 6 youth teamers making their debuts, as much as I couldn't careless, I felt for them at the end to lose to a deflected goal. Even though Luton did deserve to win the game, I thought our team played well overall given one of our players was only 16 years old.

It was worth going for the sending off of Jack Marriott, who was sent off for sticking his middle finger up at our fans after he got a load of abuse for missing a header. The worst thing was, no one was bothered but the linesman spotted it and reported it to the ref!

Wouldn't want to be him in the morning in John Stills office, thats a 3 game ban for nothing in a meaningless cup game. Silly silly boy.

Think on the balance of play Luton deserve their victory against Leyton Orient tonight - albeit from a wicked deflection off Stephen O'Donnell's back after Ryan Hall's shot, in the 90th minute! Yep... another one of those!

Leyton Orient really didn't get going until they got a very soft penalty midway through the second half.

Jack Marriott was dismissed for supposedly giving the Orient fans "the bird". No one battered an eye lid until the linesman called the referee across, who seemed to make some very strange decisions tonight and informed him of what happened. Fans can do it, but players not? Surely a yellow would've sufficed?
Jokes aside its a red, you can't go around doing that to the crowd. As much as yes you're right it was funny and no one gave a shit, its against the rules. Silly boy though.

County are reading far too much into beating a reserve team that couldn't be arsed.... this trophy wont stop you playing conference football. County are a shambles at the moment.

Didn't go tonight but that sounded very encouraging on the radio. Important to get our first win on the board more than anything else, even if it was in the JPT.

Think I'm right in saying none of our eleven tonight had actually started a league game so far, picking up a fine is mad though.

Hey, if he starts six of them on Saturday you won't get a fine. Are you playing York?
