No idea what side we will go with. The only one two I could predict are Jenson as we have no other keeper and Benning as we don't have another Left back.

Praying that Dagenham beat us. The paint cup is a bit pointless to the big sides.

Starting line up must feature

six of last starting line up or
six of next starting line up or
top six most used players
How tinpot. Has any team actually not done this and if so, what have they done about it?

What does "most used" mean as well? Is that in terms of starts, minutes, appearances?

I'm proud of this achievement

We might bring fewer fans to our tie at Yeovil than our club squad and officials!

Hold on lads, I said pointless to the big sides*, not to everyone. Everybody's saying he cba'ed and it's not right.

*By big sides I mean the likes of Luton, Pompey and us.

Great news for those of us who had to play our reserves at the weekend anyway.

Why must it so that though, that's daft - its Upto ypu what you do and don't play in your side. Don't see such quotas for the fa cup - so why this?

I won't even bother looking for the score, let alone all this who should and shouldn't play bollocks.

It's so it doesn't devalue the competition, but it can be argued if you have to put quotas in to make sure teams don't take the piss the competitions starts off as devalued.

Yes indeed. I may have upset him slightly by pointing out his abject deficiencies in that match. Wonderful captain, wonderful promotion campaign, but boy was he inadequate in League One without Zakuani to save his bacon. Good standard "speccy salute" in my direction, if I remember rightly.
The penny has finally dropped who you are Matt! Good to see you on board! :bg:

PS you're far too optimistic these days :cool1:

I would really like us to wrestle back ownership of this competition from Brizzle City, but I can't in my heart of hearts say that I would rank getting into the next round above getting a second win of the season in the Barnet game.

Hope we put out a weak team and get fined again, already have 5-8 first team players out through injury or suspensuion so would be daft to risk any more. Also, why is it on deadline day? What stupid timing for a game.

Also, surely its a fix, we seem to play Hartlepool every year in it...and no disrespect but I'm sure we're bored of each other by now.

I hope though for the Blades fans' sakes that Hartlepool play Bingham in that game. If they do then your fans really will be the envy of every club outside League 2 (apart from Bournemouth). Everyone expected Bingham to step up at least one division but he selflessly chose to join Hartlepool, out of affection for the club, respect for King Ronnie and a desire to save football from the bottom-up. Sheffield United now though, have the chance of a lifetime to see the great man play.

Tbf I've lost count of the amount of players ive heard in their first interviews say words to the effect of 'i turned down clubs in the league above to join Sheffield United as they are such a big club with huge potential etc. etc'. When the honest reason should be 'i signed for who offered me the most money'.

When your forced into a team selection you have to wonder why the FL persist with it ..... If a club wants to blood youngsters and risk an early exit let them , same if you throw your best players at it and risk injury ....The atrendence tell you all you need to know

I recommend you read the Bingham thread, then come back and let us know how excited you are for the Tuesday night game.

We'll make at least 8 changes for our game against Exeter but expect them to make a good fist of it given that they beat Derby a few weeks ago and were unlucky to lose to Reading last week.

You really need to put the Stags out of their misery and start a Matt Green one... flicking through the Bingham thread, there are a lot of 'we're gonna start a Matt Green thread' posts from them... and if Jabo can have a thread then surely Green needs one to complete the holy trinity.

I always hate all that made-up premiership b*llocks.

when has the cup runs ever really hurt us in the league...............we got to the final 3 times while winning promotion and twice winning the league......all them times with making next to no changes for most of the cup runs.

This resting clap-trap began with manchester united years ago and because every club wanted to be them its drifted down and down through the leagues over the years.....devaluing every cup competition since.

I remember us playing macc on the tuesday in the area final with a full side out, going to extra time and then having to play our biggest match of season 3 days later on a friday evening away at 2nd placed Northampton and thumping them 3-0.

what we do midweek won't in any way, shape or form effect the Barnet game, my own view is we should always be trying to win every game, once you get into your squads head that some games are more important than others they lose than winning mentality.

A ) not maNY are intersted and B) gives a chance to take young uns to a game without the late night problem .... I think it saves on the leccy bill also .... in fairness it has worked we were dipping to around 1000 before , now I think it's 1900 - 2200 most games , mind you itss normally Sheffield U we play ... wait till we draw Accrington before we add things up

5 tuesday night trips to your place in the last 6 fucking years.
