Well done City.

I see AF has turned into a monster from set pieces, reminds me of when (Oooh) Shaun Taylor scored about 14 goals from CB, that man was fearless.
We have been telling your lot Flinty's a different player nowadays and we, obviously, know all about Oooh Shaun Taylor. Flinty is growing into our captain, I reckon, as he's a natural leader.

A great day out and the win was never in doubt from the start. Next big game is our revenge on Swindle Town. :)

Terrible game, great day out and that was what it was about from the beginning.

Got to say that other than some monumental cock ups with transport and people barely joining in with chants until 2-0 I've had a great day.

I realise not everyone wants to sing and chant at games, but a lot of these people were in the "singing section"

Was hard making an atmosphere when a chant is ending by the time the next block join in, and then when they did it was going at 2 different speeds, its a shame cause the noise made in the 10-15 minutes or so after FT was fantastic.

Same as what we did. Singing section where most people didn't sing. Ace.

Congrats City!

One of my Mansfield supporting mates goes to Uni with a big City fan and they often go to Stags/City games together and he's been putting pictures of you all enjoying your day on Facebook all day. Looks as though you've all enjoyed it

You all know it was 1987 that really mattered though..

Good win and a good day overall.

Was I the only one who saw Greg Cunningham absolutely smash the ball at a blokes head in the warm-up? Sending him flying and nearly knocking him out? He was sat down for the next 5 minutes holding his head, think he was a photographer walking behind the training net at the time, where the players happened to be practicing their shooting  One of the funniest things I've ever seen at a football game

Good day.

Apart from the game. In which we were absolutely pathetic from start to end. Didn't compete, didn't get at them, didn't get in their face. Freeman ran the show. We have no motivation and are low on confidence.

Walsall FC in league 2 next season.

127 years of dissapointment.

Smith treading a fine line if we don't get ourselves safe in the next 3-4 games. Big time. Disgrace that was today. Unambitious, just awful.

At 1-0 I thought you looked like equalising for large periods. As soon as we got the second it was very comfortable though

Heard this morning that Oskar has the money he needs now to have his operation, massive well done to all involved for helping getting the funds needed. Including bristol rovers fans, and wallsall fans who was putting money in the bucket for the guys that walked from bristol to Wembley (including 2 rovers fans I think)

No better full back in the league than Mark Little. Superb today.
He's really not that good, one of the first players I'd be looking to improve on next season. As for the game it was a non event really. Walsall passed the ball well enough as soon as it came to the final third they were awful. Freeman, pack and Flint standouts. Though Agard did a cracking job too. The atmosphere was shit, but to be expected when you have 25000 that havent been to a game in God knows how long!

Not let's get over that line and go up as Champions!

Agreed. Should be improved next season as I'm not sure how he will do in the Championship where his pace and power won't be as useful against better full backs. Although he has been good, he does struggle when he has a full back that is physically as quick and strong as him, as his actual footballing ability and end product are fairly limited. Dont get me wrong he is very effective at this level, although I'm not sure I'd rank him as the best full back in the league

By the way, I forgot to say congratulations Brizzle fans. Very gracious in victory. Spent the entire evening in an Irish bar called 'The Parish' about 10 minutes from Wembley, talking to a Dundee fan who had come supporting Bristol and a season ticket holder of yours, both nice chaps, both talked a good and fair game and both respected our following and relative position, one was a member of your forum OTIB. Was a nice atmosphere between both sets of fans all day I thought. Excellent turnout.

Enjoy!

We were 1 game away with a worse team than this (although a weaker championship) but I'd like this one confirmed first.. :animatedf:

I have watched bits of the game back, same old story - Plenty of posession in parts but with no end product.

On another day the first could have been disallowed for a foul - I am not going to bleat about that because I thought we were gash and BC deserved their win.

As were we last time we won this league. The Championship has been shite this year, if it's the same next year I'd fancy you for top half at least.

At least we're making noise about if we go up, we have a recruitment plan for that level and have bought this year with the aim of taking players up who can step up/already should be at that level.

It didn't quite seem that way last time we went up and we have a number of January League 1 signings who took us over the line in League 1 and had no future once up. It was a disjointed as hell squad.

We were carried by team spirit and a determination not to concede in the championship last time we went up, I seem to remember we had a stupidly low goal difference for a team that was competing for promotion

The current squad as it is would finish top half on the championship IMO. Good recruitment in the summer then who knows...

Just watched the highlights and I admit I wondered at the time, it certainly was one of those ones where it could have been a could given, but at the same time ive been to plenty of other games where that kind of jump has been seen as fine so think it was just down to the referees opinion on what is too much.

As for the ref I thought he was pretty good, only 1 tackle that I can remember that was bad and that was just a late one where the player was booked, the fact that not many fouls were given showed e referee was happy for the game to be played.

Didn't think walsall were particularly bad, until it came to the final third where the final ball was very lacking
