I'm not saying it's ridiculous, just improbable. The promoted teams from last season look better quality and, although they've done well, don't look like making the playoffs.

On what do you base better quality? We have a relatively young squad of players and I'm sure the management know the areas that require strengthening just as any club but you only have to look at games won and goals scored to realise we have enough quality at present to compete in League 1.

How anyone can claim they are going to do this and that before the close of the season and signings/sales etc. have been made is crazy.

If this conversation was being had late July/early August 2017 it would have some merit but at the moment its pointless.

Wigan walked it last season in the end and Blackburn surely will be tough... not that we will be there to experience it! Blackburn or Barnet... depresssing thought!

Seconded

I'd take Barnet over Blackburn if given the choice....much easier trip!

Fuckin Bradford tho, nowhere getting over 50% capacity crowds till they were selling ten bob season tickets. As for us we average around 8k home fans without away support so your rather on a wind up or really bad at maths. Bigger than Millwall yeah right who's told you that one and are you really gullible to believe that.
It's actually turned out to be a very good business plan and now being copied by other clubs. Perhaps Rovrum should try it. The 2nd biggest club in South Yorkshire(Donny 1st) should surely sell at least 18000 tickets and have a waiting list to boot.

Rowe is better than all of them.

We will finish above you next season, your very short time as a club better than us is over. The two divisional gao with us in the championship and your lot in league 2 will be back soon sadly for you.

By very short do you mean recently because Donny have only had a better team than Rotherham from 2007 to 2011 other than that we've always been above you or in the same division.

Seems like you never met SERNWA?

Yeah i know who he is and if he said we're bigger than Millwall then he's on a wind up and a quite a few posters take the bait which is quite hilarious.

It isn't false at all cos it is easy to remember the name and I remember laughing at your boast to be promoted immediately back to where you belong. I laughed(at you specifically) the following year when you actually did return to your natural hunting ground. For you and others to be disrespectful to a club like Rochdale is actually quite disgraceful. Positioned so near to 2 such big clubs and working on low gates, Their management have had a difficult balancing act to do. The players they have attracted, the football they have played and the results they have managed are a great credit to them. This year they might have a bit of money from the Hogan deal. If so, I am sure that they will spend it wisely. They also have a ticket incentive scheme and I really hope this works out for them. They will finish above Donny once again.

No one took him seriously, that was the point. Sorry but you're going to get a load of shit here next season when everyone uses the sticks that Rovrum fans crafted a couple of years ago to beat you round the head.

If you want to voluntarily go down in our place I wont stop you ;)

Honestly doesn't bother me all that much which of the two divisions we're in - plus the additions to League One look about as enticing as a steakhouse to a vegan. Doncaster, Plymouth, Wigan, Rotherham and Blackburn - hardly any different than trips to Blackpool, Exeter, Crewe or Morecambe in terms of interest for us as a southern club. All of them are sodding miles away whichever way you slice it!

Although tongue in cheek with regards to 18,000, I don't think it would be a bad idea for clubs like Donny and Rotherham to follow our ticketing policy. Both clubs have far bigger clubs more or less on their door step in Sheffield, and I know there are a lot of Leeds fans in the Doncaster area. Clubs like these need to think of their future fan base and the best way is to compete is to make it affordable for families. Unfortunately though some owners have a short term thinking policy and aren't to bothered about who will be the fans in 15-20 years.

We haven't got the stadium to that, we wouldn't sell nowhere near 18k but i reckon we could shift about 12k at those prices we would have to expand wembley of the north to get some room for the away fans. Great idea for clubs who stadium are too big for them ilke Donny, Coventy, MK Dons and few more.

We have a very good board who have put plans in place for the future with cheap season tickets for kids which increase in small amounts up to the age of 24

Do you honestly think you will fill the home end next season? The glory brigade will be back in the pub or buying Wednesday tickets if they make the prem.

It's League One. No-one will fill their home end. Not on a weekly basis anyway.

The fact that your board kept faith with their choice of manager following relegation confirms your statement and for that reason alone, you deserve your promotion. Good to hear of another club looking at cheaper ticket deals, especially for youngsters. They are the future of our game, on and off the field.

We'll probably lose 2k home fans next season which is generally the case for any team getting relegated from the championship so im expecting around 6k home fans next season and maybe 7k at a push if we're in the top 2.

Not sure what he's been like for you but Tommy Rowe was probably the worst player I've seen in the last 10 years at Wolves, and I've seen some truly awful players in that time. Maybe L2/L1 is his level, but he certainly doesn't look like he can make the step up here if you are serious about going for promotion.

There was a reason why we were more than happy to flog him to you on a freebie.

I really liked Rowe here and I wanted us to try and sign him.

We ended up getting Morris instead and I suppose that worked out for us.

I was happy Doncaster got promoted due to locality, really hope their time in League 1 goes a similar way as either of the last two seasons that they were here for after reading this though...

There's a reason Rowe has been playing in league 2. Personally, I have always rated Frecklington as a better player but have seen better than both in Div 1 this year.
