Far better than the oil stain/bird shit attempt of last season at the very least.

Think we'll be starting the season in our vests, pants, plimsolls and whatever is in the PE teacher's office like Forest Green did that season.

I think you mean the season we went with Hummel as our kit provider...they kept promising to have our kit ready for the first game of the season, away to Grimsby, but didn't manage to hit the deadline. This resulted in someone from the club making a trip to Batemans in Stroud, buying a set of kit and hoofing it up to Grimsby in time for the game on Saturday.

We used the kit, both home and away, for about the first ten games of the season until the new supplier...player layer...had a kit ready for us. The irony was that the kit from Batemans actually looked pretty decent, with a pale blue top and white shorts...was kind of hoping we would keep it as an away kit.

The shame of it was that Hummel kit that never materialised looked class!
It tangentially related news we for some reason (greenery mainly) have a travel wear partnership with rock dinosaurs the Grateful Dead! Didn't see that coming: https://www.fgr.co.uk/news/fgr-announce-partnership-with-grateful-dead

That t-shirt is pretty niche, probably only appeals to rockers over the age of about 50...just when you thought the club couldn't come up with a more bizarre partnership than some we already have...they excell themselves.

I suppose tbf the Grateful Dead have shifted some merchandise over the years, might put us in the running against Wrexham for the lovely US dollar.

The only team in this league who I would say can genuinely claim ‘sleeping giant’ status is Bradford City.
Loads of other teams in this league are probably lower than they should be size wise but let’s be honest none of us could ever be considered fucking giants could we?
Even Bradfords bigness is based more on their stadium and fan base than their league history which isn't hugely different from our own.

You could argue that they've wildly underachieved given the size of the city and number of fans.

Donny seem to love a rugby league style shirt
We love our hoops even if they are thin ones. Plus Oxen make lots of kits for Rugby League clubs, they are a local business although it’s the last year. I’m all for supporting local businesses but most of the kits have been meh, I do like our home kit this season but apart from the sponsors logo it’s more traditionally us

I don’t like it I’m afraid. Red, black, green and yellow?

No.
Nor me and yes it’s the sponsor bit that doesn’t work, green and white or yellow and white hoops would’ve worked better

Not could argue, should argue.

We're embarrassingly underperforming and have been basically forever. Apart from a period in the 1910/20s and the 80s through to about 1999/00.

Rest of the time. Shocking.

No red on the home shirt is a no from me but otherwise it's better than last year, with full stripes on the back. Away is simple and stylish though I think

I believe the name and numbers are meant to be red on the back. I don't like the away, just looks like a plain training top.

Really not a fan of the collar on that home one. Do we know if we're in red socks or not?

Really like the away one though, pre-ordered that today. First time I've bought a full price footy shirt as an adult I think.

People finally starting to get the home top they ordered weeks ago, We've still got the away kit, which is white apparently and a black 3rd kit to release

It is a shame. I'd have liked to see us do another local game before flying out. I can only think Parkinson wants to keep things in house and the intensity up before we go to the States, as they do seem to be working hard this week. Seems like that will be a bit of a media circus over there and that's not really his style.

Still got my old Umbro shirts from back when we had our previous kit deal with them back in the Jim Harvey era (great times).

Much better than the shite quality PlayerLayer produced, the stars are already peeling off (which is apt).
Wish we'd made a go of it with Hummel.
