It’s a testament as to how strong the league is this season when you have a better squad that the last two promotions and still aren’t guaranteed to go up. The gap between the top half and bottom half of L1 this season in terms of quality is the biggest that I’ve known it to be.We should have stayed up last season we were forced to play 8 games between the 2nd to 24th April because of the matches we were forced to postpone due to Covid issues in the squad.
We could be accused of not being careful enough but it did feel like we were being punished by the EFL, who lets face it would much rather we weren't in the Championship.
TBF the Championship can be a pretty dispiriting place when you are just hoping to get to 50 points but I do believe that if this team/squad were playing in the Championship this year, we would have a realistic chance of staying up.
We might lose a few players in January but Warney is quite adamant we don't have to sell. Having said that, I don't believe he would stand in the way of a player leaving if it benefits all parties.
If we CAN hang on to everybody, we certainly have a good chance of Yo Yo ing once again, this is a better squad than the last 2 who got promoted,
