What's this about Peterborough owing £14.5 million to some Canadian company who want to place them in administration? Not another cheater in the league! There'll be very few clubs left who are playing by the rules at this rate!
There's been warning signs there for a long time.

Macanthony gets praise by some but he has a history of fraud, and got out of a lot of trouble for a big MRI scam because there being lack of jurisdiction for Spanish prosecutors. His behaviour is constantly erratic, he's promised to quit numerous times including last season. He also seems to fall out with people quite easily, the fallout with Canadian backers seemed very quick and also very public.

The club overall has this attitude where they feel far superior than they actually are.

None of that are healthy for a club.

For people watching them closely it's only matter of time for their bubble to burst. Every 6 months there is some sort of hushed rumour about ownership. Supposedly there's a belief among the local media here that their problems are very serious this time.

But I guess time will tell if these rumbles finally come to fruition.

McAnthony has said on twitter or X whatever you want to call it these days that it’s not going to happen… have to see how it plays out.
Yeah, I don't think it'll happen either but it's a hell of a mess to get themselves into for successful businessmen.

It's another of those clubs who are of a similar size to Vale, yet seem to always have a significantly bigger budget. I know that they make some profit from player sales but their income can't be much more than ours. We sold 1,000 new away shirts in the first hour or so yesterday and even more for the home shirt. We've had biggest average crowds since the 90s, a playoff victory, hospitality sold out week on week, business packages flying out the door and yet we're still scrabbling around unable to compete with Peterborough. Another team who I suspect is circumnavigating financial rules. I hope it goes belly up for them, as I do with all these teams that cheat to the detriment of clubs that are playing by the book.

They had some big player sales a decade or so back which helped and always seem to recruit right from non league.

Not sure they overly spend big but seem to have had a model which works.

If it goes ahead and I don't see any reason why not. This must be great news regarding the new ground and also incoming transfers ( including ) this window. Could totally change the dynamics of this football club.
It’s going to be very interesting for sure. I can’t say I’m absolutely buzzing because we know so little, but I’m delighted Wael will still take us forward.

I really hope all this is linked to the FM. A dream scenario would be if they bought the land and the sale of the Mem paid for the build. Perhaps I’m asking for too much :D

So they still haven't paid HMRC. I thought that would be their priority...

Nah, they'll be trying to avoid another suspended points deduction for not paying wages on time.

As Southend demonstrate HMRC is an overdraft facility.

From what I can work out, they have 16 contracted players and can JUST about field a team.

If any team deserves to be relegated this season, it's Reading surely? The whole on and off saga with HMRC whilst signing players is a total joke.

Sorry for the fans but the people running the club deserve the luck they are getting.

Good news for us in that we have a home for the next 20 years:

But the fact that Barry Hearn is still milking us nine years after he left leaves a bitter taste in my mouth, as he is our landlord and the club has to pay him every year to play there.

Talk of a new ground for us maybe one day, but sadly there are no sites for a new football ground in the immediate Waltham Forest borough.

Our East Stand does need a decision made on it though, it can't operate at full capacity and despite alot of efforts to clean it and make the facilities as more modern as possible, it is old and in need of replacing.

So it’s official, Kuwaiti investors now own 55% of the club as we can expect to see an increase in budgets and transfer spending (for this window too apparently).

This investment will also be linked to the potential new stadium plans in the centre of town. Hopefully exciting times ahead!

Were you ever compensated over West Ham moving to the London Stadium and paying a pittance for rent?

Haha of course not! Had to take it on the chin, very rarely though are we both at home at the same time and if we are, the visiting team here will be a club with a small away following. It’s happened only 3 or 4 times.

The EFL highlight show is changing this season. No studio set-up and it'll filmed from a stadium every week, with no guests and ran closer to a quick fire goals show instead.
Tbh, I didn't think it was too different. Yes, they saved 20 odd minutes with no studio guests but they still managed to drag out the Championship highlights.

Spoken like a true fan. Fuck the ethics and morals of where the owners get their money, just build us a stadium. Not a dig at rovers but too many clubs are now run by foreign money which is great till it goes tits up.

The ‘previous’ ownership, who still own 45%, are from Jordan and have been excellent in growing the club organically. He will remain president of the club so I’m quite positive about this.

But hey, why not just assume that the money comes from something ethically/morally negative because he’s from Kuwait. Isn’t there a word for comments like that?

Foreign money/ UK money. All the same to me. Not only its the foreign owners where it all goes tits up. You only have to look at Yeovil Town for that.

Redbridge have been desperate to get us over to Fairlop Waters for years. They’re gagging to cut ties with Frankenstein FC who only bring income for Barking. We’ll use that as a bargaining chip with Waltham Forest. Keep an eye out for a WF u-turn on the New Spitalfields site.

Having worked in the Middle East for 15 years, I can assure you there are more on the take than not. But of course there are good ones, you are obviously lucky.

I have no doubt mate. ‘Previous’ owners are from a bank, the new one we don’t really know. Was just pointing out that it’s extremely unfair to just assume because they’re foreign/from Middle East

I get that. I just always can’t help thinking- what do people from the Middle East etc want with a lower league football club. Is it to milk it ? Perhaps I’m too sceptical. And I know how many shisters there are born in this country. List is as long as your arm.

I thought it felt like the Plymouth Argyle show with added EFL goals.

In the League 1 roundup they showed about 4 or 5 other bits of action aside from goals. They've clearly cut that right down, which is very disappointing.
