So apparently Reading placed under a new transfer embargo for failing to pay HMRC. With this hanging over them why the fuck the EFL let them off the previous one I don’t know. Whole thing stinks.

It just goes to show that agents run the show now. Clearly, Smith and Knibbs did zero due diligence of their own and Reading have clearly bullshitted that they can afford these players on pretty decent wages you would imagine. Who at the football league ratified and allowed these signings p? Why have Reading made them when they know they can't probably pay them? Throw the book at them. 20+ points deduction and cancel any transfers made. They've tried to get away with cheating again.

Reading's financial problems were hardly a secret so if they end up with wages being late or not even paid, and the consequences of such, then they only have themselves to blame.

Hopefully Reading at least suffer a 9 points deduction for the late wages but being the FL and the Disciplinary Panel it will probably be mostly, if not all, suspended.

Just looking at the BBC front page for League 2 since I haven't updated my bookmarks to L1 yet.

Of the news items on page 1, they have one for every signing, as you'd expect, a couple that relate to the league as a whole (the latest being the new rules for timewasting) and then of the ones that are just about specific clubs, one each for Stockport, Swindon, FGR and Notts County and SIX for Wrexham.

Glad we've avoided being a sideshow for now, it's worse than when Salford came up and thank god that died down.

In our playoff final there were 9 minutes of first half injury time despite being no major stoppages, reminiscient of the world cup so I wonder if the refs were already applying these guidelines at that point.

Honestly feel that these constant battles which club's face to have a home is partly why so many clubs often end up getting rid of the classic historic grounds and end up getting copy and paste soulless stadiums and pushed out of their traditional areas.

NIMBYs appear wherever. We have one who objects to everything in the local vicinity, including a Beach Volleyball Court in an already existing large park, with sports facilities, because someone once sat on that particular but of grass and had a picnic.

We had a few objections when we built the new stands, mainly to the enabling development of student flats behind the ground, but I'm pretty sure work didn't start until permission was granted and all conditions discharged. Still, doing things by the book doesn't work for some clubs
