I'm pretty pleased with L1 make up next season as I can get to most places pretty easily direct on the train or with only 1 change.
Only Bolton and Reading will be new grounds for me, although I last went to Charlton in 1977!

So uncle Tone is not returning - totally the right decision for him and his family as health comes first.

Football wise he would have been the perfect fella to get us up, massive decision for the club now, god knows who we end up with

Skubala?

Grant McCann could be a sensible one. Got the job done with Hull.

Skubala has been ‘linked’ with several clubs already. Can’t see him moving from here IMO, not because of the length of his contract, but because of the risk of moving, timescale at our club and the fit between us and him. If he moved and suddenly had a bad run of games, with impatient boards he could put all that hard work getting where he currently is in jeopardy. We are finally a well run club at our level so although possible I would be surprised if he moved for at least one more season, depending on how we get on.

Even so, I'm not sure Club's would (or should) be willing to make a move so quickly either, he's only been in senior management for, what, 7/8 months?

It didnt stop Liam Manning swanning off to our neighbours. Bigger club in the same league would be less of a risk imo

names on socials range from Alex Neil to Dave Challinor, a new name appears every half hour - yet we will probably end up back with Rowett

Of course, anything can happen in football. Money talks but I would still be surprised if Skubala gets tempted away for at least another season.

Crawley co-chairman, Preston Johnson, has stepped down for personal reasons.

He's the one who was vilified for sitting on the bench the other season to show support for the backrooms staff after Matty Etherington left after three games in charge.

I'm not a friend or in the know but he has had some health issues recently.

I know it's not L1 anymore but Piley has handed over his controlling interest in Fleetwood to, er, his son.

So he'll be a scummy Blackpudlian piece of shit too. Bye Fleetwood.

Burton have been seemingly run really well for a long time. Their chairman had them running at a profit or break even for years if memory serves (dont know if that changed in recent years).

Bit of an interesting one, how far can Burton go with their capacity / catchment area of fans?

Suggestions online that Appleton may be headed there as boss. Charlton fans no doubt glowing with praise from his time there...

This will be interesting to see from a Shrewsbury perspective as this Nordic group tried to buy us but couldn’t reach a deal with our chairman Roland Wycherley so moved onto Burton instead.

Talking of takeovers, we’re close to one ourselves for the first time in 28 years. Apparently it’s a group of Yanks involved. Hopefully be completed soon!

In fairness, Wycherley needs to sell in order for ST to compete further up the table. I feel that without extra investment, there is only 1 way you'll be heading...and it ain't up.

We could do with our derbies again as both clubs need each other.

Wycherley has done an incredible job at the helm. The position we’re in now compared to when he took over is night and day. ‘New’ stadium, no debt, plenty of assets, no financial issues, been one of the most stable clubs in the 92 in his 28 year tenure. He’s not getting any younger though and now is the right time to let go.

We definitely need investment to get to the next level as we’re stagnating at this level now. One promotion push in the last 10 years at this level isn’t exactly going to thrill the supporters or entice new people to fans watch. If what I’m told is to be true, then we’re certainly in for an exciting time under new ownership.

I don’t know what to make of it all.
However I’m glad Robinson is stepping down - he was in danger of tarnishing his legacy.
Done great things for us in 50 years ( only 1 relegation and that from the championship) but was running out of ideas, bad appointments and pooor communication with the fans resulting in failing attendances.

With his daughter rumoured to be leaving Wrexham, I thought she would be returning to help out the family business at Burton Albion.

Not rumoured - it's fact. Fleur has re-joined Burton as their new CEO as part of the new ownership.

We have appointed a new CEO as well in a lad from Miami FC, who has also previously worked for Inter Milan as CFO.

Pretty sure Burton get continuous external investment.

Pretty sure we don’t. Off the field we generate decent revenue and it’s kept us going. Plus cup runs and selling players. It’s just keeping a tight leash on finances.

I haven’t looked at accounts, just what I’ve heard from a Burton fan I know.

It'll be interesting to see whether the new lot trim the playing squad because you always seem to have 35/40 players on your books!

Very true - burton has the lowest unemployment rates in the midlands as we take them all on as professional footballers…
Let’s be honest, 30 out of the 35 are no good usually.

Well, Fleur was Burton → Wrexham → Burton.

Williamson (the new guy) DC United → Inter Milan → Miami FC (Not Beckhams Miami) → Wrexham. He had a finger in the pie at running the San Siro so should know a thing or 2 about stadium management etc especially with us improving the ground.

On a side note, its been 2 years since the club announced plans for the new kop. A year ago they said there have been red tape preventing any building work to commence, but still nothing has changed in that respect. It is far too quiet on the club front. Piss poor comms across the board.

Regarding the new stand, agree that it's very poor communication from a club that's become well known for letting the world know what they've up to ( it's the American way)
Since R&R came in have the club installed a single new permanent seat within the stadium?....apart from some new VIP seating in the hospitality area within the Yale Stand
