I strongly believe there will be mega bucks thrown around in January and then even more in the summer to get us to the Championship next season.

We must think big from now on and have a big club mindset.

A quote from Simpson today regarding the budget.

“It’s not going to put us as the highest spenders in the league, we have to be realistic about it, but it’s going to give us another bit of a fighting chance.”

Hopefully this now brings you back into the real world with your expectations.

I honestly don't think these guys are coming in to just throw a load of money at it. I think they are in it for the long term and will look to build the club properly and do it right. Spunking all the cash right at the start is not what they seem to be about imo. As I say, they'll back Simmo with an improved budget, but I'd be amazed if it's a crazy level of spending like you're expecting.
They've been quite vocal about upgrading the training facilities, which is a big thing when it comes to attracting players.

This is what we've desperately needed for years and I've heard that we might have a chance of buying land off Carlisle rugby club who for some reason have 3 big pitches even though they're just an amateur club.

Would be ideal to set up our training facilities there or even build a new stadium!

Yeah this is the type of thing I mean, building the foundations of the club for the long term rather than a scattergun panic short term spending spree in January like carver is expecting.

I’ve heard this as well. And it’s come from someone who i would expect would be well informed on this type of thing.

I want success NOW

For too long now we've been pissed on by so many other clubs financially and looked down on.

We need state of the art training facilities, a new 25,000 all seater stadium and proper big marquee type signings in January that will make our statement to the rest of the league.

You’ll be pleased to know that they’ve already put a couple of marquees up in the fanzone behind the west stand.

Curzon Ashton....and Carlisle
They've been quite vocal about upgrading the training facilities, which is a big thing when it comes to attracting players.

I’ve come to learn since living in Manchester how much difference can be made with the right set-up.

Following little Curzon on weekends they currently compete season on season with 150-200 home gates in a league containing. Chester, Boston, Darlo, Scunthorpe and in recent times Stockport, York, Halifax, Kidderminster etc etc all clubs with 2000+ fans.

Curzon have a simile competitive budget on gates of 150 because their off field facilities, extremely large 3G pitch, office and business facilities and letting 40-50 Manchester amateur clubs use them as a base generates them more weekly income than most of them other sides do with their 10 times plus gates.

If you can then have the crowds also on top of the facilities…..quids in.

Good for Carlisle and their fans on this. So long as they’re in it for the right reasons and have the right people around them then can only be a good thing. With that said I’d seen on Twitter you’re giving out foam hands and clappers to people going the game tomorrow so for that reason you need throwing out the league today (as well as adding to the tinpot thread).

Couldn't agree more

I'll give them the benefit of the doubt this time as they are new to english football, but if they are still doing it in a couple of months I'll be writing a strong letter.

Absolutely brilliant. I'm jealous or what. Thats the way new owners should be.

So much better than our Amercian biliionaire.

Good luck for the future Carlisle

What do you not like about your owner?

Bad ahead of Christmas, would that put them on another EFL charge?
According to that article, so long as they pay by Tuesday it seems not.
Which strikes me as an absolute disgrace, not just that the workers are potentially without money over the weekend, but they may well have mortgages and other financial commitments going out today...

theyve been owners for 7 years and were still in div 1.. Billionaire that has no ambition. Why they took over us I'll never know.
Every other reasonably sized club either have a new ground or a proper redeveloped one. He's spent a bit on the ground but not really redeveloped it. Youd have noticed that when u came down the other week.

Their ownership is definitely a divisive topic amongst the fan base, with a vocal minority not happy with it.
Personally I’ve seen them spend more money on the ground (optimising capacity as opposed to very real threats of reducing to 10-12k) than any other owner in 40 years of following the club. They’ve invested off the pitch with superior training facilities, and forming a football set up which creates an ethos through the club. No one else has ever done any of these things.
I’m convinced that the North Stand will happen but only when all of the other non stadium development issues fall into place.
Their biggest criticism will always be failing to get out of this division but I’m happy that they’re not chucking money at it, as we’ve seen where that leads to multiple times before.

After a supporter vote, we've changed our badge (again - we must've changed it a handful of times in the last 15 years but on previous occasions it was just done rather than went through a supporter consultation). The Board think it'll bring better marketing and commercial opportunities so I'm not sure what they're thinking of doing.

It's changing next season from the first image to the second one, which is actually the badge used back in 80's so it's not a new badge per se. It's on the third kit apparently, which I'd not even noticed.

Prefer the first one. Second one a bit dull and doesn't reallylook like an imp.

IMO.
