Any inside knowledge on what's going on with Benjamin Taminu?
a) No work permit
b) Not registered in time
c) No first touch
d) Not even close to match fitness. (This is actually what I think the problem might be. I know I might be being unfair on the Tanzanian league, but I think we don't realise how fit footballers need to be, so I'm guessing the club have him training separately until he can get up to the baseline for shuttles or whatever. The guy just hasn't played a full 90 minutes in a long, long time).
e) Just not good enough to get in the team.
f) Needs to learn English lower league style of play

The Nigerian fans are pretty salty about his callup, and quite a few saying that it's down to corruption; that's someone's getting a cut of his appearance money. Both Taminu and Eguavoen (the national coach) seem aware of the controversy. Must be nice to have the Super Eagles as your feeder team that you can send players out on loan to.
But yeah, given the discrepancies on the transfer fee;
g) Money Laundering
It would appear that it is indeed d). A member of the Super Eagles is struggling to be fit enough to even train with the rest of an EFL League One team, and a 6.5 hour flight to Lagos, sitting on the bench, flying to Libya, being locked inside an airport overnight with no food and drink, flying back to Nigeria and then back to London probably hasn't done a great deal to help, either physically or mentally.
Crawley probably hope that he's not called up again in November.

Just to scare those at the bottom of the league who could end up like us and Forest Green.

TLDR, does he mention Port Vale at all? They seem to be doing OK.
We came straight back up as well.
In fact, the last two times we have been in L2 (from relegation and promotion) we have got to L1 at the first attempt.
Its a piss poor league, but a more enjoyable one as we are a top L2/lower L1 side

We took a long while to get back last time, but we were never at real risk of dropping out of L2 (again). I think this is narrative is pretty much nonsense to be honest.

It's also a fact that relegated sides often start poorly as they have gone through a lot of change in pre season.
I think Carlisle will be OK.

Benjamin Tanimu made his debut away at Reading yesterday.

He got 12 minutes and we didn't concede while he was on the pitch.

Charlton are expecting a bumper crowd against Wrexham. As the away end hasn't sold out, the home end isn't on restricted sale so anyone can buy a ticket. Probably expecting a fair few of the extra crowd to be tourists, we tend to get a few generally as the Premier League clubs in London are difficult to get a ticket for but can imagine a fair few extra tourists who want to catch a sports game in London will be drawn in by Wrexham. It sounds like the club are expecting 20k+, there was 13k at the Stockport game for context.

We do have a dormant fanbase so it may well also be Charlton fans who rarely come making the effort but I'm not sure how fussed those type of fans will be to play Wrexham.

Highest league attendance for you in a few years is it?

A lot will deny it, but we pull bumper crowds in pretty often. Looking forward to it. Despite not selling out the away end, I still expect us to take over 2000. 1 block is left on sale (as well as a few disabled seats) though that's hardly indicative as we're a bit weird with how we allocate tickets.

Yeah, we haven't hit 20k in the league since 21/22, so will have to see if this one makes it over the 20k mark.

It is what is, can imagine most clubs will get one of their highest crowds this season for Wrexham. The club know it, they've been advertising the game on billboards and at stations all over London trying to attract people. I had to buy an extra ticket and left it until yesterday. Normally sparse round me but couldn't buy a seat anywhere near me for the Wrexham game as they've already gone. People will no doubt be grumpy about tourists and day-trippers but again comparing it to the Stockport game, if we do hit 20k that's 7000 extra tickets at a raised price as Wrexham is a 'gold' game. That could be an extra 300k vs normal just in ticket sales alone which is a good chunk for a club at this level.

Strong rumours that we are close to announcing further investors into the club.

Seeing Hard Rock's chairman rumoured from ITKs. He doesn't own Hard Rock, but led their current owners' acquisition of it. The Tribe that own it are worth a cool $12bn.
