Can I ask what is prompting so many to back MK for promotion? Not disputing that we are one of the favs to go straight back down, I am expecting a hard season.

Recently relegated teams are often expected to make a good go of it. Also, we are really experienced in this league. Know what is required etc...

But, I don't think we will go up personally. I also don't think you will go down.

I thought pretty much everyone in L1 is experienced. "WABLO" and all that....

Sorry, experience on pushing promotion. Few play-off campaigns and runners up with the same management team. If they don't know what's required to get out of this league no one will.

You've not read anything I've written have you? We're rarely troubled by relegation, have a top half budget, have the same spine as last season (ie all the best players) and alongside some admitted foreign gambles we've also signed a couple of good British players.
As I've said, it could all go horribly wrong but I just feel that predictions that we will get relegated are lazy.

You could ask the same about Charlton, quite a few predicting them and they were relegated with us.

Like BCS said, I guess because we've been in and around the top 6 for years in L1 and still have the same core of players that we had when we were promoted (minus Alli, Grigg and Afobe). To be honest though, I think we'll struggle to make the playoffs.

We're in the same basket in L1 as teams like Sheff Utd, Bradford, Peterborough etc who make good signings but fall just short most of the time, either failing in the playoffs or just missing out on them.

Charlton have made a fair few signings though of good players at this level. Who have you signed? Very few people.

By your own admission it could go horribly wrong, so it's understandable that others would predict that.

We've made three.

Double that have left and not been replaced. We won't be close to challenging.

Did you go to the game against Swansea reserves today? :fish:
I'd imagine the clap is something you just get used to , being city.

7 first team players missing according to your forum mate! That would intimate that their reserves played.

A generally reliable source has hinted that we are bringing in some very good players next week including at least a couple of Prem U21 players on loan.

As for our business so far, all of the players we've signed so far were in playoff teams last season:

George Williams - signed from Barnsley, some of their fans claim he was one of the best full-backs in L1 last season.

Ed Upson - signed from Millwall, has looked pretty handy in pre-season and played nearly every game for Millwall last season.

Paul Downing - signed from Walsall, but probably going to be utilised as cover more than a regular.

Hard to disagree we will be on our way down, wont find many Fleetwood fans who would argue. Done little of note in market so far and a poor pre season so far, just no goals in the squad.

Pressley has 10 games to show signs of improvement on last year or I think he will be gone.

If you include sub apps here and there, I suppose he might have stretched 30 league games last season? Bit of a reach all the same. He was very much fourth choice CM here and 2nd choice on the left behind Ferguson.

Thank the Lord we sacked him in time to survive relegation two season ago. Most games under him we had 1 or 2 shots at goal maximum. There were so many games we had no shots on goal, it was turgid terrible shit to watch.
Fleetwood need to get rid before Xmas or you won't have time to recover

Looks like we're going down again.

Seriously though we are a complete unknown quantity this season. We could be brilliant or we could be awful.

That's all fine, but I question how much of last season's success was down to momentum and mental attitude rather than quality. You might find that once you've been spanked a couple of times, confidence drains away quite quickly. I don't think you'll be in trouble with the bottom 4, but I can't see you troubling the play-offs.
