To put it into context, we have played every game in January without our two best players, suffered just the one defeat, that to a team capable of bringing in the likes of John Brayford (who they paid £1.5M for) and Paul Coutts, and yet we still find ourselves within touching distance of the top two, all on a fraction of their respective budgets.

Sure, today's defeat wasn't great, particularly as MK won convincingly away and City have a couple of games in hand. But I don't remember many seasons ending after one defeat and especially not in January. There are plenty of twists and turns to come and that we are still competing near the top given our budget and small squad is a fantastic achievement in itself.

Excellent January for us. Played 2 games less than Swindon, 3 less than MK, and still right there with both of them. Big game today, need to take advantage but if we can we'll be in a strong position.

Going on the 3 games weve played you in im stunned that your top of the league but you got the job done against us and obviously do something right as we couldnt possibly win 5-0 against anyone

Just over half way through and we've dropped 21 points all season, you're currently 15 points behind us. It would require you to pretty much not drop a point for the remainder and for the top 3 to to do worse than we have for the first half by a bit as you will drop points here and there as well. Preston can be caught, but I have a feeling the top 3 are now out of reach without something drastic happening.

I do think Sheff Utd will go on a great run, and its conceivable that they might catch one of bcfc, Swindon or MK if one of us implodes... But all 3 of us? Not a chance. I think its as close to a dead cert as you can get that Sheff Utd will feature in the playoffs this year. Just hope we don't meet them there.
