We'll miss him and his goals for sure but wouldnt say we'll struggle. As has already been said we were clear at the top before he arrived. He's not as vital a piece of our team as say Korey Smith, Freeman or Elliott. Lose any of them and we would indeed struggle.

I'd say we can handle ourselves without Elliott, would rather lose him than Flint.

I think while you have had Matt you have looked a better side than when you had Agard and Wilbrahim, you seemed to seem a more confident side as if the team knows that all is well "Matt's up front" and wont let us down, funny what 1 player can do to a team, no disrespect but ive a feeling you might just struggle a touch when he goes.
It's amazing how better teams look when they have 11 players on the pitch, isn't it?

City will be fine without Smith. 1 player does not make a good team.
People said we'd struggle for goals without Afobe...:tw:

I am sure Cotterill will have something up his sleeve for when Smith leaves. Not forgetting we have 3 other good strikers in our ranks at the moment too and I am sure he will be prepared to loan in another if needs be.

Will be pleased if we can get through this window without losing any of our major players.

With Chesterfield losing Doyle and Rochdale losing Done, you'd think that's two big blows to their respective playoff hopes, although it obviously doesn't mean they have no chance!

Yeah but you just went out and made two more expensive loan signings. Karl Robinson and his shoe-string budget at work.

We won't struggle without Smith. Wilbraham will be a good replacement and I expect us to make a good loan signing too.

To be fair I think we were playing better football before Smith came in the team.

We have to somehow replace 60% of our goals. Not going to be easy, expect us to depart from this thread in the coming weeks.

Good window for us. Nobody out which was the number 1 aim!

Looking forward to our promotion battle now for the rest of the season.

It's crazy how much of a gulf there is between the top 4 and the rest.
I think the season will end with-

MK Dons (Been 'ok' against us, but have looked impressive elsewhere)
Bristol City (look more inconsistent than MK, but still have so much strength)
-------------------
Swindon (To win in the playoffs, very good side, just think the other 2 are stronger)
Preston (Good side, think they'll fall only because of things like losing Garner)
Bradford (Gutsy side with some quality, think that playoffs might be a step too far for them)
Doncaster (Surprise I know, but I think they'll be the late movers)
-------------------
Sheff United (Very hot and cold, though who knows what their new signings might bring)
Oldham (Decent side, played great football at ours)
Chesterfield (Be happy with this)
Rochdale (Our little overachieving buddies *high 5* - Who says League One would be so hard ey)

Best we can hope for would be to somehow blag ourselves a small change of the playoffs, and go to Sheff United away on the last day for a party and a bit of hope. But very unlikely.

More inconsistent? How are we inconsistent? I could see labelling a team stuck in the play offs that, labelling a team who could be 5 points clear if they win their game in hand? I'm not so sure.

Struggling to see the inconsistency when we have been in the top 2 for nigh on 6 months now and were top for most of that time

Didn't mean anything by it, just my guess.

Less you being inconsistent in general, but just not being as consistent as MK. There will be ups and downs, but I can see MK powering through with more consistent results than City. Like I said, might be wrong. I hope I am about Towns position and it's a few places higher haha

Nobody knows what is going to happen from now to the end of the season. Sure, we can all have our opinions based on nothing more than some inkling or other.

I doubt very much if the present top 3 will replicate their vastly superior form over the first half of the season, but are probably too far gone to be caught.

I don't see anyone pulling away at the top, so strap yourselves in guys - it's going to be a bumpy ride!

I don't see that much changing to be fair. We may do our usual improved form after Christmas and look like nicking an automatic spot only to fall at the final hurdle. Would be very surprised to see us finish outside the top6 for sure.

I just can't see 2 out of 3 having that bad a run that you can claw back 15 points, that is also assuming you go on a mega run which is difficult Tues Sat every week.

All 3 sides have their own style which is what makes this battle so interesting.

Id definitely say we were the most consistent of all the sides so far, hence we are top! We dont tend to play that well often but we are ruthlessly well drilled and tactically spot on.

MK are a bit more gong ho I think.. Better football and can completely destroy their opponents when on form but they are much more likely to fall to pieces, ie the Walsall game.

Swindon are a mix of both I guess.

This may sound biased but I do back my own team to win the division. I just think we have that little bit more of an ability to grind our results. I have no idea who will finish higher of Swindon or MK though. So difficult to call.

We're up to ninth! Absolutely flying at the moment and wouldn't surprise me if we end up winning the league as BC and MK have got to start slipping up soon.

Ferguson is the best manager we've ever had! 3 promotions already, dare I say a 4th one is on it's way?!

You've changed your tune, typical fickle football fan. What an idiot.

the way its going at the moment, a team could be in the bottom half with three games to go and could still end up sneaking in the play-offs.
