Steve Davis...
"I think we still need a bit of experience, that would help us, but when the young players play like they did at Millwall it gives you a lot of hope.

"They are fighting, they're playing at a good level.

"But we still need a bit of help, we'll have or two back over the next two or three weeks which will be a boost.

"We're still short of a winger, George Cooper did well on Saturday, Brad did well off the front but we don't know what Ryan Seager is going to do but was lively and bright when he came on."

Two words, Steve... Grant and Moore. But we aren't signing anyone so doesn't really matter.

Byron was going stale in League One so I was glad we got rid. But it still pisses me off he wants experience when we had a fantastic CM there. Rumour has it Dario was bemused we let Grant go because he said he was captain material and he was the sort of experienced player we should build a team around.

Shame Steve wants to do that with his own son (if he ever gets fit) than a combative midfield player like Anthony Grant.

The bloke who runs the Twitter Account is a fucking knob as well, swear he gets bored so his entertainment is baiting our fans.

I was being a little flippant with Moore seeing as he wanted out for years but point stands re Grant. I was more highlighting the news that "Davis wants to bring in two" is missing the crucial detail "but will go with what he's got". It's also the constant talk of needing this, that and the other when we've spent two years shipping out players and replacing them with absolute manure. I'd rather he went back to pretending Turton was our saviour, that was more entertaining.

I'd be more surprised if the Dario Gradi Football Genius wasn't bemused. I'm still bemused quite a lot of our fans thought it was a good decision to get rid of Grant.

Those fans are the pro-Davisites who genuinely believe the club isn't in a crisis, think Turton is a good player who hasn't had a chance despite being played in at least 5 or 6 different positions almost every week for four years and I always remember some melt on Mad saying that he was happy Grant left, believed a Liam Nolan and Ollie Turton midfield would be the way forward and said they should be complimented by a midfielder who had some steel... :brill:

£2m tabled for Dack from Ipswich.

I think there might be something in that one. Getting near to the asking price, right sort of club for him, just hope I'm wrong.

You said £3m a few weeks back.

Franck Moussa and Ricardo Vaz Te released by Charlton. Could be of some interest to a fair few League One clubs I'd have thought. Moussa in particular stood for for Coventry a couple of years back and Vaz Te's record with Barnsley was decent.

Looking at their forum Ipswich fans don't think they would bid anything like 2 million. I know their scouts have been at our games, but they could easily have been watching Egan not Dack.

Hahaha. He's such a card. Crewe Sign Bent... but it's just a picture of a bent sign. Haha. Like the one posted on twitter 6 hours previously. Haha, so glad this club doesn't take itself seriously like other clubs, otherwise there'd be worries about relegation, zero cash, dodgy directors and selling our best players off to the first bidder. Haha.. Crewe... bent... sign.

I know, I was in stitches as well. Such an original joke, never seen that done before. This guy is wasted at the Alex, should go into standup.

They've definitely been watching Dack, I can tell you that much. I'd imagine any Championship club with a noddle of sense would've been checking Egan out as well though.

Gary Liddle signing for Chesterfield FFS. Jamie Proctor signing on a perm, therefore freeing up a loan spot to replace Liddle, Premiership kid in next week

Any good?
He's alright, in and out of our 11 this season. Standard bottom half-mid table L1 player, but he's a tryer and plays with heart, to say Parkinson rates Tony McMahon and Routis in front of him is an absolute disgrace.

Moussa was quality in his time with us. Would love him back here. Never gonna happen.

Sad to see Liddle go but I can see why. With Evans back soon, Knott, Routis and another loan coming in next week then he probably wouldn't be getting much game time and this way we get brass for him. Parky doesn't like playing Evans and Liddle together and Evans is clearly number one now. Good luck to him, genuinely likeable player. The striker situation is a joke on the other hand, trying to get Proctor permanently is crazy.

Yeah I'm surprised personally but the right sort of player to be spending money on, someone who would be hungry to improve.
We've got money to spend, but IF this is true, it will top the total transfer fees for the club for the last 4/5 years alone
