Ahh yes I've heard that one mentioned. Sounds good enough for a mid table team. I'd take him.

Posh sign Gwion Edwards from Crawley for an undisclosed fee.

I don't really know an awful lot about him, except he sounds Welsh.

Nope former Bolton and Blackpool defender Niall Maher. Only young at 20 years old and seems to be a CB. We still need a LB. Looks like a squad player rather than a first team player.

First signing to be announced Monday when said player flies in from Amsterdam... Either a Dutch player or at a Dutch club i guess!

Bury sign 3. Midfielder Zeli Ishmail, Defender Meher and Goalkeeper Ben Williams. We also signed Anthony Kay from MK Dons last week.

Solid L1 signings?

Anthony Kay will do well for you, defo solid and will work bloody hard.

We had Zeli a few years back, seemed to be highly rated but never really lived up to it. Never really offered much in terms of goal threat.

A shrewd assessment.
When you took Barnett from us a few years ago I thought you made a very good purchase. That seemed to work better for us than you.
I think you've made a good purchase here too that will hopefully work out well for you and him. If you watch highlights of our game at Newport last season you'll get an idea of what he's capable of. Hope he does well.

Ben Williams is the absolute definition of average.

Very, very replaceable.

The fact you've mentioned Barnett in the same paragraph concerns me.

Tyrone Barnett is fucking shite.

Joe Edwards signed for Walsall. Very good signing that, hope he does well.

We have made the best 3 signings on paper I can ever remember us making in about 10 years.

Happy with Edwards, good reviews and was Colchester's players player last season, highly rated at Yeovil.

He, Cuvelier and Oztumer look very decent for a Walsall squad at this level.

Just as a sidenote, read on Posh's forum and a chap posting on ours who is a family friend...APPARENTLY Oztumer had 2 Championship offers and a big offer in this league, but chose our contract and the promise of first team football... surely Jeff hasn't pushed the boat out?!

I've kept an eye on Edwards career since he left us in his youth days, he's a talent midfielder and he'll put a bloody good shift in. Can cover at full back as well, so I've heard from Colchester fans. Would be a solid addition for any side at this level - an upgrade on Mantom.

Gwion is a winger who tends to play on the left although he is right footed. Quick and direct. He aint another Gareth Bale but he is good and I think he will do well for you. He will get isolated on the wing in the harder games. He isn't lazy but he does tend to stay out wide.

The player we brought from Swansea I would say would be a no brainer for Posh but I think he has gone backwards a little since then. Some good coaching will definitely help.

I still can't believe what Posh did to Tyrone. He was amazing for us. Knocking in goals and terrorising defenders but when I saw him back at Crawley a season or so later (playing for Bristol City) he was like a little boy who had lost his Mum. Just wandering around playing with himself.

This week we have signed;
Simon Eastwood GK
Wes Thomas S
Aaron Martin CB

I'm sure all the fans of their previous clubs will dislike them, call them lazy and label them useless..

Eastwood was one of the worst keepers we've had whilst I've been watching City, he still gets jokes made about him on the forums. He was a youth loan from Huddersfield at the time and there were rumours it was in the deal that he had to play no matter how shite he was. Will be interested to see if he's improved, I'm guessing he must have.

We had Wes Thomas on loan last season, albeit he only played a couple of games cos we had so many loan players he had to be left out of the matchday squad.

He looked pretty good to me and most wouldn't mind if he had stayed. Saying that, when Obika and Ajose got going nobody would have dislodged those 2.

Decent signing all the same.

Sounding like the Ajose deal should be completed early next week.

It poses an interesting question though. Would you have been happy with him as a replacement for Ajose?

He's a totally different player to Ajose. Thomas is much better suited to teams who play with just one striker, whereas Ajose really only excels in a front two with someone else doing the legwork. That's why a lot of Town fans see Obika as the more irreplaceable of the two as, while he only scored half as many as Ajose last season, his overall contribution to the team in the form of assists, hold up play and bringing others into the game is arguably a greater asset to this football club.

Cheers, we tend to play with one striker and wingers joining in so looks like he is the perfect man for the job.

Sounds like both Thomas and Martin are 2 really good additions then, i'm also willing to give Eastwood the benefit of the doubt for now, just glad we've finally started signing players
