Personally I'd be quite happy to keep Fadz. Whatever happens we're going to need a big ugly defender to stop us being the soft touch we often have been at this level, and I genuinely can't think of anyone available at a reasonable price who'd do the job as well for us. We've spent two years trying to turn him into a footballer and although he'll never be as comfortable on the ball as Robbo would like he's now got a half decent range of passing for a centre half.

As for our fans, one cheeky back heel against AFC and all will be forgiven.... Far worse situations have been turned round in respect of other players in the past (just not at our club) and this one is far from insurmountable as long as both parties (Kyle & Robbo) say the right thing.

I think there is a big difference between sitting on the bench for Newcastle in the Premier League to sitting on the bench for Chester, Forest, Millwall, Coventry and Blackpool.

Agreed, i aren't very confident with this fella coming in as number 1

Disappointed to see Collo leave and sign for Crawley.

This and the departure of Knight-Percival leave two big holes to fill this summer.

Any fellow Valiants got any inside information regarding the loan deals for the lads from Monaco. Are they still likely or is it turning into a bit of a dead duck?

Smurf hinted may be mid August due to other interest

Oxford making some signings today, hopefully the forward is Taylor. There are a few whispers that this is the case.

I hope it materialises from the point of view that Rovers can finally move on, I obviously hope it doesn't materialise for one or two obvious reasons, to be honest though the whole screwing around this summer means I can't wait for him to sign for somebody.

At least the opening home game would become more interesting, so fingers crossed.

Why would Taylor join a smaller club in the same division?

I sort of get the impression that his agent has probably screwed it all up a bit, hence why this is being sorted in mid-July.

If he wanted to join Oxford (he has every right), would he not have done that when they lost Hylton about six weeks ago? They've offered decent money before Roofe left.

The money argument from Taylor's perspective doesn't really work either if you believe that 'a number' of second tier clubs were after him just a few weeks ago. They'd have offered decent money, obviously.

We are speaking to a striker who played for Championship club last season who has quite a big 'pedigree'. He is speaking to 4 other clubs but they are all northern so Brown believes this could be in our favour. I'm thinking it could be JET?

Taylor's not joined Oxford today, Chris Maguire and Joe Rothwell are the two players just announced.

So it goes on... unfortunately.

That would be a great signing for anyone.

He played and scored for QPR yesterday in their friendly in Holland. Players leaving rarely go on tour with their parent club.

Wages would be horrendous, too

Pleased with Maguire, never seen Rothwell but Man United offered him a new deal so they must have seen something in him?

Fingers crossed I guess!
