Pope wants to come home, Smurf wants him back... Would be either him or a deal done for a Benfica youngster I imagine.

Conor could be a decent player in the coming years. For his career to flourish he desperately needed a new club and I hope he does well at Swindon.
I think the fans at Cov had reached the limit of their frustrations with Thomas. They have seen him grow for many years at the club from a very well thought of youth player that most thought would develop into a very good player.
Something just went wrong, like hitting a wall and his development stopped. For some reason any thought of a forward pass or an attacking through ball went from his game and all he did was either play sideways or normally go backwards.
He's a decent tackler and I hope your new coach will sit him down and tell him straight to be more positive. It was only 2/3 years ago Liverpool were on the verge of paying big money for him, so there is a decent player in there.
The new surroundings and new team mates I hope bring him out his shell and he reaches the heights many at Cov once thought he would reach.
He desperately needed a new club and challenge and I wish him well

I'm in the no camp for Pope I'm afraid. Did a good job for us in L2 and a decent job in L1 but we need to move on.

The best he is going to offer to any L1 side now is to be a decent outlet from the bench when a plan B is needed

Thanks for the feedback, we have reasonably high hopes for him and I look forward to seeing how he does tomorrow at Woking.

Surely, surely to goodness he cannot be any worse than bloody Anton Rodgers!

Ok I'll bite. We've signed a decent keeper and last season's non-league's top player in Goddard who I think might be very good this season. As well as Conor Thomas from Coventry, they were all gutted he left so happy to see him join us.

We need more players, sure, but last season we signed Ajose in September and he ended up being the leading scorer and sold at a profit so I'm not going to be going to the potting shed to reach for the revolver just yet.
I wasn't fishing, but thanks for your informative response

Hasn't failed to deliver the signings as yet.

Where's these signings from Monaco?

FWIW Jerome Thomas is a crackign signing though. Was excellent for us in every game last year but wasn't fit and didn't stay, if you get 20 games out of him he'll push you up the table.

We've signed two AS Monaco players so far. Sebastian Amouro and Anthony De Freitas.

Pleased with Jerome not played much in four years as you say so got to hope he's fit, if Andoh stays and recovers fully from his ACL we would have two quality wingers.

It was more like 5 to 6 years ago that Liverpool almost took him off our hands. He's been going backwards ever since.

Seems a snip of a deal which is 'up to 6 figures'. I'm surprised he was let go so easily...

What's going on at Coventry? You seem to be behaving like us.

Vincelot from Cov, 2 year deal

Pretty happy with that. We attempted to sign him for £100k when he was at Daggers, before he snubbed us for Brighton.

Good signing that. Annoying for us but money should (hopefully) be reinvested into the squad.
So not only are you not signing anyone, you're now actually selling players?
