Adam Armstrong touted as a season long loan as a sweetener for Adams going to Newcastle...would be great business if we could do that but expect they'd want him at a championship club tbh
I'd find it weird that they'd sign another young striker with a worse strike rate in this division than Armstrong and then loan him out.

Same really, from that Alan Nixon guy though who is normally quite reliable

They will still fail. I've bet a slap up Harvester dinner on it.

I hope it's not true. Clarke and Armstrong up front is disgusting at this level

...and Billy Sharp. Which is another reason why I can't realistically see it happening. Those three plus Matty Done and Marc McNulty as further back-up would be ridiculous. Did Armstrong ever play on the wings for you?

He can do but he didn't really for us. Sometimes Darius Henderson would come on and force Armstrong wide, he's ok there, but it would be a waste.

If the above rumours (Armstrong, Clarke and Morsy) were to happen the only thing I could think of is if Wilder wants to go 4-2-3-1 (which I think he did at Northampton?) with Clarke as the 'lone' striker, Duffy and Armstrong either side of Sharp and Fleck/Morsy (or Basham) as the two.

If t sounds too good to be true, it probably is mind.

Fancy sacrificing Armstrongs abilities for those of Henderson

What's with the excitement over Leon Clarke?

He's gash. Up there with some of the worst strikers I've ever seen at Charlton.

His strike ratio in league one is over a goal every two games. You're not gonna find many more consistent strikers than him, especially available for well under £1mill

Confirmed that we are hoping to sign Cameron Brannagan of Liverpool on loan.

Sam Morsy mentioned aswell. Would be happy with either.

Exactly this. Age and maybe desire would be the only worries but at this level he is as close to a guaranteed 20 goals a season as you can get, would have him back in a heartbeat. If you get him and Armstrong there's surely no way you could fuck up promotion again

I'd like to point out he scored 18 goals last season and probably missed 1/3 of the games. I'd say it's just a matter of time before you sign him tbh.

If you lot have any sense, you'll try and get Matt Done and some cash in return for Leon. Done/Pope.would.be a decent attacking pair. Pity you have transfer listed Pope...

We've signed "flying winger" (according to his Wikipedia page, which seems to have been edited by a younger relative:doh:) Sammi Odelusi on a seasons loan from Wigna

Has apparently had previous loans at MK and Coventry. Is the lad any good?

He was ok for us. He's nothing special really. Quick without the ball but his dribbling is pretty poor. Wouldn't expect a lot from him tbh.

Know Wigan fans really didn't like him though, I think a consistent run of games will do him the world of good. Hope he does well for you.

Decent enough signing from Rochdale, not top quality in league one standards but decent enough to put a shift in at this level.

We're in for Kieran Agard according to the local paper, Charlton spoke to him earlier this summer

In addition, our local rag doesnt usually name-drop unless the deal is almost over the line.

Would surely cost us £300k+.

And 5k per week wages at least also.

Agreed.

Anderson is rumoured to be our highest paid player, at £8k per week.

Then there's Vincelot, of which if you believe Cov fans, has doubled his salary with his move here.

Hanson is rumoured to be £4.5k. Then there's a list of players on circa £3k, again, if you believe the rumours. Our playing budget last season was £3m, so it won't be too far off.

New owners seem to be willing to spend, not only in the wages department, but also in terms of fees aswell.

Wow, 8k a week! Well if your owners are willing to spend then I guess Agard to you guys isn't beyond the realms.

If your budget was 3 million last year what is it going to be this year? I haven't done my league 1 predictions yet but I do think you'll be top 6 at least this season, it will be interesting to see who you sign over the next 2 weeks.

No one knows. Seemingly, the owner hasn't told the management what the playing budgets going to be, either. He's said they have X amount in wages for each position - and I suppose you can roughly gauge what the budget might be from that.

We'll have similar, if not more, money in revenue this season - given we've sold almost the same number of ST's last season - in addition, there's money generated from new marketing streams and the compensation from PP leaving.

I think we've gone about our business fairly quietly, but the board have consistantly stressed that most of our ' marquee' signings will come between now and the window closing.

I still believe it's a year of transition and solidarity, though.

Our squad numbers are out, with an obvious omission at number 4. Seeing as we only have 2 centre backs and 1 is injured, that seems fair enough! No idea who it could be though - anyone got one spare?

I can see this one having an element of truth TBH. KA isn't going to get much game time at our place so a move would be good for him.
He's a rare one TBH, nobody ever criticises him and his work rate is excellent, scores a few goals plus he comes across as a really good bloke. Unfortunately, for him, the Championship might be a little too much for him apart from as an impact sub. There is no way he will shift Kodjia from our 1st 11 so I can see him moving on. He's more than decent at L1 level and will certainly bag a fair few for Bradford if he moves there.
If he does go to you, I would wish him well.
I would guess at around £250K as a fee, maybe less.
