Another signing (14 now I think) Another CM. Matt Grimes from Swansea on loan. I remember he was brilliant in L2 with Exeter. If you said 3 years ago we'd sign him, I wouldn't believe you.
Good luck to him. You're right he was class for us but perhaps his big move came too soon as he's struggled since. Leeds fans think he's one of the worst players ever.....

Think L1 may be his level currently and if he's given regular games I'm sure he will do well.

Stefan Payne has resigned for us on a 2 year deal for an undisclosed fee.

Happy to have him back, will cause defenders a few problems in this league that's for sure.

That's the 4th transfer fee that we've paid out this summer, people will start knowing us as moneybags Shrew£bury soon :£

Will Grigg to Charlton rumours doing the rounds again.

Anywhere remotely reliable?

Were a few murmurings down here a week or so back but only just fans between themselves on twitter etc.

I doubt this one has any legs. Robinson was in the press the other day stating that people would be wrong to expect us to be paying anything near a million for a player. How much would you be looking for for Grigg?

Lord knows we are in desperate need of a striker though.

Well we're desperate for a striker and Ciftci is definitely an interesting one, 2 years ago he was arguably one of the best strikers in the scottish prem, sold to Celtic for 1.5m and then seems to have been a bit of a naughty boy since.

Definitely has the talent to be absolutely immense for us, but can Derek Adams keep him on the straight and narrow? Either going to be amazing or a disaster and nothing inbetween imo.

Not a clue to be honest but the move makes sense if we're willing to sell to a L1 club. With less than a year left on his contract, I can't see us turning down around 1m.

Nadir Ciftci, a striker from Celtic, joins Argyle on a season long loan
That's a blast from the past. He was our number one striker target two years ago, had a 1.2m bid accepted but he turned us down and was basically using us in order to force Celtic to make a bid as he always wanted to join them. Not heard a peep from him since.

Sky saying Eoin Doyle is considering a loan move to Plymouth. Please Lord, just get rid of him.

Hope some daft fuckers take Pringle and Grimshaw too.

At this level id take Doyle and Ciftci. With Taylor to come back, Jervis, Blissett and Fletcher we'd have options.

We've loaned Kane Hemmings to Mansfield for the season and strong rumours of Marvin Johnson joining Birmingham for a fee around £2.5m+add ons/sell on clause.

Edit: We need to sign a striker, wide player and possibly a left back (unless Pep is going with Carroll and Tiendalli as cover). This is, imo, on top of a centre-back to cover for Raglan's injury until January.

From watching the few games we've played this season so far we've been able to hold our own without even having a striker, if we add Eoin Doyle on top of adding Ciftci yesterday we look a different proposition altogether

We've only gone and spent a fee on yet another player!!

Omar Beckles (CB) signs from Accrington for an undisclosed fee on a 3 year deal.

I don't know that a striker is coming. We might well wed ourselves to a 4-4-1-1 in which case we have two vying for the front spot with players like Gino or Hall ready to fill in. Not that I think that's the right move, just what I could see happening.

I think we will sign some sort of forward if Johnson goes, and a CB if Martin goes (or a six month loan). Can't see much else.

You lot seem to have got rid of a lot of very good players this season. If Sercombe is anything to go by. He is excellent.

Sercombe is decent and very well liked but he wasn't really bothering our starting XI by the end of the season. With Payne, Rothwell, Ledson and Ruffels in the middle I don't think he'd have had more luck this year either.

Lundstram, Maguire and McAlney bigger misses for me and most others I'd say. Mind when we went up we lost Hylton, Roofe, O'Dowda, Baldock, Kenny, Wright and Mullins who were all regulars.

He's turned down the loan move, the utter wanker.

Linked with Kevin Long (CB) - Burnley

Luke Hendrie (RB cover) signed on loan from Burnley on Monday. McMahon needs to buck up his ideas if he wants to keep his place.

Some Charlton fan on twitter is adamant that he spoke to Karl Robinson last night who said we've had a £1.2mil bid turned down for Grigg.

I have my doubts.

1. Would Robinson disclose that info to some random fan?
2. Would you turn down that much for someone with a year left?
3. I doubt we would even offer that much anyway, even more so when he only has a year left.

It is possible given the fact we're getting desperate and maybe Wigan know that and are holding out for more.

We were linked with Long at the start of the window, i'd probably still take him but Ben Davies and Tommy Spurr have made good starts to the season so not sure if we're still in the market for an experienced centre back.

Burnley fans think he's solid so he should be quality at this level.

Doesn't look like we'll be bringing any more players in this window unless we shift a couple out.

Our squad looks mid-table at best IMHO. I'd settle for that this season. Would hopefully give some of our young guns a chance to develop.

Harry Forrester finally signs on a season-long loan from Rangers and according to the club will be the last one through the door, so no Michael Smith from Portsmouth which has been rumoured all summer.

Forrester seems to have buckets of talent but little application. We were in absolutely desperate need of some attacking midfield intent so it's a great fit and potentially very exciting. The good news is that the nightlife round our way is rubbish.

1. Not a clue as I don't know Karl Robinson personally, although he seems like he has a huge gob on him.
2. Not in my opinion which is why I don't think you've bid 1.2m.
3. Exactly, see point 2.
