Well if the loan player is better play him and get shut of the dead wood and save money on the so called high earners. Simple really.

Joe Dodoo signs on loan until January from Rangers.

Hugely underwhelmed.

Going to be a long 4 months until the next window.

Novak confirmed. Sounds like it was a free.

Not bad.

Not the Vetokele clone you were hoping for? :dk:

Underwhelmed also. Maybe he'll be a diamond in the rough.

I heard you lot were interested in Ellis Harrison but we couldn't get a striker in so it came to nothing. Shame.

We managed to keep Bodin. Huge for us and we've managed to piss off that sneaky twat Warnock. A good day.

Serious day of business from us, best in a very long time on the face of it. Once it's all gelled I'd imagine we're set up for a positive season..

Fair play to Rochdale for signing two players with the same name in one window. That's the sort of thing you do on Football Manager when you're pissing about.

Have we seriously just sold one of the divisions best midfielders to a division rival for peanuts?

Last season in the Championship Gilbey was our best player until a knee injury ruled him out for 7 months meaning he only featured in about 15 games. Slowly working his way back to full fitness.

I hope we have about a 50% sell on fee because once he's back to full fitness, MK Dons have got a 22 year old who is comfortably Championship quality with huge potential and this current market will be worth several million.

Surprised you're letting Alex go when bringing in the likes of Noel Hunt and Gary Roberts who are surely running out of legs?

I doubt those 2 will ever start a game and are cover I hope that we have some loan recalls on the players loaned out as we've loaned about 15 out!

Jokes on us when MK Dons sell Gilbey for about 6m in 12 months time. Keep him fit and MK Dons will finish top 6.

Not quite, got to give the kid a chance though.

Hard to get excited when we've been linked with the likes of Grigg, Godden, Taylor, Tarpey etc and end up with some kid until January. Just smacks panic loan signing.

I appreciate it's a tough market for strikers but we've left ourselves vulnerable by letting 6 leave the club, other clubs knew we were desperate and have tried having our pants down. It's all our own doing.

This regime bang on and on about learning from mistakes. It's utter bollocks, our CEO is as thick as anything, allowing Novak to leave on a free! and once again when we have the basis of a good squad looking able to compete, they leave us desperately short in areas. Up front we now have Magennis who has had injuries and on international duty every 6 weeks and 2 kids. Sick of it.

Rumours today that Godden was actually in Charlton for talks etc but the club then wouldn't agree a fee with Stevenage. He also started following the club on twitter. Being priced out for a Stevenage player when we have made £13+ million in outgoings in the last couple of years and got rid of some big earners is scandalous.

I heard you lot were interested in Ellis Harrison but we couldn't get a striker in so it came to nothing. Shame.

Wouldn't be surprised. Think by 9oclock last night we were just scratching around trying to sign anyone who has ever played as a striker.

Scrap that, Daniel Agyei on a 6 month loan from Burnley.

Big forward with a bit of pace apparently.

Anyone else got an idea?

Prolific in our yoof team until Burnley snatched him two years ago before he even made our first team squad. Was in this division last season on loan in that particularly bad Coventry side where he scored a handful of goals but didn't set the world on fire. Can bulldoze defenders but a bit of skill too. No real idea how good he actually is these days though.

Scott Golbourne in on loan till January - good business that as he's what we've been missing now that Lewington is getting hammered by the fans for being awful and Tilney apparently had a bust up with the manager.
Aidan Nesbitt, undisclosed - don't know enough about him, his stats aren't the greatest but Celtic fans rate him highly and are surprised they sold him.
Alex Gilbey, undisclosed fee - wow, what a signing. I don't know if he just wasn't getting played or was homesick or what, but I can't actually believe he's joined us from a potential promotion rival (if we can actually start playing better than poor that is)

All in all not a bad days business for the Franchise

Eoin Doyle (Preston)

On loan to Latics apparently.

Hope he fires them in for you and he has some suitors in January, sick of the fucker.

I've no idea how he scored so many goals for Chesterfield.

I'd be interested to hear what Robinson has to say about things, like if he was given a set amount to spend and just couldn't get the right people in.

We're reportedly going to sign Andrew Crofts from Charlton.

Why? Just why? We already have an ageing midfielder in Bishop who's too slow. He's also gonna help keep out our best CM Sam Mantom, excellent.

Ins:
Donervan Daniels (D) from Wigan (loan for season)
Jordan Williams The Second (DM) from Liverpool (loan till Jan)

Outs: Jamie Allen (CM) to Burton (undisclosed fee - my guess is 200k + add ons/percentage of future profit)

Not a bad deadline day. Jamie's a very good player, but we are strong in midfield. Daniels was part of Wigan's L1 title-winning squad a couple of years ago so presumably is at least competent, whilst Williams II comes from a known source of decent defenders for us (S Darby on loan, then Joe Rafferty).

Lee Novak wasn't very good for us, fat, lazy and disinterested. That said, he's been ok at other clubs so you might be alright there.

Crofts on the other hand, is crap.

Happy with our deadline day:

Scott Golbourne - experienced Championship left back on loan, will hopefully be a bit more effective than Lewington for us.

Aidan Nesbitt - Celtic U21 and Scotland U21 international on a permanent. Looks like one for the future and decent potential. Won't seem much first team action for us but will play the occasional game.

Alex Gilbey - Got to be one of the EFL signings of the day. Championship quality, and going by how disappointed Wigan fans are to lose him is encouraging for us. Will likely go straight in to the starting 11 for our game tomorrow.

ALSO the fact we've got rid of Downing by loaning him to Blackburn is brilliant work. Still not sure how Blackburn wanted him considering he was our 4th choice CB behind Ebanks-Landell, Wootton and Walsh. Really poor player and inconsistent.

Andrew Crofts signed.

Absolute shite. The sooner Alexander realises Mantom is by far our best midfielder the better.

Always rated Golbourne since his Exeter days, whilst Gilbey looked decent in a mediocre Col Ewe team a couple of years ago.

Yeah that's crap, sorry.

Was rubbish for us by the time he left, we loaned him to Wrexham in the conference. He did go on to do quite well elsewhere, so who knows.

Think injuries have played their part. He was slow on the ball, caught in possession too much,no creativity and could barely keep up with play. Surprised he's landed at another L1 club.
