I see the only reliable poster on Outlaws is raving about the signing. Always take that with a pinch of salt as Im sure he was high on Jordan Cook!

Seems a solid if unspectacular type player who will fill in a number of positions.

This signing prompted me to re-acquaint myself with who we have, need to get a couple of midfield players in I think, looking a bit thin/poor there if you ask me, especially if Berry isn't fit to start the season.

We paid around £250k for him.

That sounds much more like it from our perspective, the most we've paid for a player in recent times is £250k so I'd have been very surprised if we'd bought someone for £500k+.

What's his best position? Seems like he was billed as a full back primarily when he joined you from Accrington but our official website described him as a versatile centre half.

Played both for us. Much more effective at full back from what I saw of him, was decent going forward too.

Jon McLaughlin was pure meh for us, must have improved massively after he left as he’s had glowing reviews everywhere since then.

Hanson going down south is genuinely shocking.

Tim Dieng is not signing a contract for us, will be a good signing for someone in this league, unless he’s off back to France.

Timothee Dieng apparently followed us on Twitter and then unfollowed, which is odd.

Tommy Spurr meant to be signing for Fleetwood, you won't keep him fit but he's a good centre back for the 5 games you'll get out of him.

Always found him to be a better left back when he was with us

Put in some great performances at centre back at the start of last season, looked average-to-poor whenever he's played at left back for us. Went on record saying he doesn't like playing there too.

Saying that we've only seen him start 16 games in 2 years.

Always liked him but injuries were always a worry

There’s a rumour on Twitter he’s off to Southend so might have followed the wrong SUFC.

If he goes there, we let Dieng go cos we didn’t want to pay him a bit more when he’s the right age, a decent physical unit, chips in with goals and assists, good technically and would add to most squads in this league, and get off Southend Wright who is probably not as good and yet will be on more money. Seems a strange one to me

Abu Ogogo confirmed on a three year deal. Can't say I've seen much of him but sounds like a very good signing judging off what the Shrews fans are saying. I take it that this is us taking full advantage of the Maddison wedge.

Starting to build a strong squad.

Said earlier on this thread Dieng was coming to us. Come from very good source be surprised if doesn’t sign for us now. Coincides with our local reporter saying we are in talks with a league 1 midfielder today

Signed Zeli Ismail.

A player all Walsall fans wanted after he did really well for us on loan for the first half of last season and became a fan favourite before he had to go back to Bury.

Finally some positive signs at the Bescot with Zeli and Andy Cook.

The Alex Mowatt following Pearson to Luton rumour has resurfaced. Not quite sure it’s credible but heck we’ve been starved with rumours all summer!

Good luck trying to get any consistency out of him.

Think we are allowed to post any and all Outlaws rumours this time around, it’s been a quiet summer for once!

To be fair we did when he was on loan, he was our best player and seemed to get better and better each game. Started quite quiet but seemingly built on every performance until he was our best performer around christmas.

Yeah I meant over the whole season. He’s always either got an injury or just faded out. Likeable guy just needs to step it up. 25 in December and he’s been at far too many clubs.

Reminds me of Frank Nouble. Definitely got some talent and does knuckle down particularly at the start of spells with clubs, but just doesn't ever seem to push on.

Long may the stability continue, but I’m having a shit time with work at the moment and it’s the summer, so I need something to keep me occupied and Love Island isn’t really cutting it at the moment.

Weirdly, we released him five years ago. He did ok for us, but was a bit lightweight at the time. Went to non-league (Halifax) and has consistently improved ever since. Good luck to him!

To be fair, Zeli Ismail is your first £100 million-rated player.
