We’ve signed Tom Flanagan on a two & a half year deal from Sunderland.

Has made over 120 appearances for Sunderland in the last three and a half seasons, including 25 so far this season.

I’ll happily take him seeing as they’re 3rd in the table!
Had a great start to the season but has been making loads of errors which cost us points the last 2 months however he didn’t play in Saturdays debacle so he will be pleased about that. Flanagan is alright for this level and some games is good but then some games he is league one haha. Just like most. Personally i would have kept him but he’ll have been on a decent wage and contract was running out.

Give him a chance. Just watched some of his goals on YouTube. Knows where the back of the net is. Not sure who you were expecting?
I was fooled by that video when we signed him and we were told he would smash league one by millwall fans. He isn’t a central striker but is a decent link up forward. He puts in a shift mind so can’t fault him in that respect but don’t expect tons of goals. Now watch him start banging in hat tricks for fun.

Dempsey confirmed 2 and half year deal......top 10 this season Automatic next season

We now have the best team in lge1
Gone from toothless up front and pedestrian in midfield to guile power and pace in three weeks

Haha maybe not quite the best team yet but we have had an unbelievable transfer window. The best we’ve had in years and years. I can believe the squad depth we have now compared to a month ago. I have no idea what our best team is anymore

Three goals is our months quota. We wouldn't look to use them up all in one match.

Congratulations, you have a very good player in Dempsey.
He never gave anything less than 100% every time he pulled on the shirt for us so goes with our best wishes.
All the best Kyle.

Not a spectacular transfer window for us but then again it wasn't expected to be.

We only signed Kelly and Tutu, but more importantly we kept Smith, Wiles, Lindsay, Rathbone, Ogbene and Barlaser who all had interest from other clubs.

Even Ladapo is still here, but he needs to get his head straight unless he wants to rot in the reserves until May.
With Smith, Grigg, Kayode and now Kelly to get past, he has his work cut out.

Worst signing of the window.

Kovar to Burton. Singularly the worst keeper I’ve seen at Swindon. The number of times he was beaten at his near post was amazing.

Well I woke up this am ( words of a great 60's pop song - but which one ? ) and see Matete to the Black Cats, he was out of contract this summer so pretty good business. Young Billy Crellin to Everton, two and a half year deal, Fleetwood born and bred. Really wish these guys the best and hope they have successful careers
More importantly we have got Dan Butterworth on loan from Blackburn, after getting Harrop from PNE last week and then probably losing him to injury till end of February this was more than welcome.
Phew....

Ben Thompson signs until the end of the season, formerly of Millwall. Decent signing, expect Dempsey to be departing shortly
Howls of anguish about this from our fanbase no doubt. The fans obsession with Thompson after an excellent six month loan period back in the 2019/20 season has reached epic proportions, peaking with each transfer window. If he's still the same player then you will love him.

The team that started against Sunderland Saturday is strong then you could add Dempsey,Sheehan,Aimson,Katchunga,Bakayoko,Thomason,Sadlier,Isgrove,Bodvarsson and maybe the one with the most potential Amaichi.......That is some squad for league 1

Permanent deal isn't it.
Yup, my mistake, it’s a short-term, but “permanent” signing till the end of the season. Presumably cos he’s on Championship wages, if he does well (and we go up, which is a big ask) then we’ll keep, if not then maybe we don’t.

Sercombe to Bristol Rovers is a no-go. They wanted him on loan.

We have also signed Cheltenham born attacker Jamie Soule on loan from West Brom after Dan Nlundulu and Charlie Brown had scans today. Looks like Nludulu could be out for some time, which is a shame because he'd started like a train.
We had Jamie Soule last season, he came in to replace the injured Callum Morton, then got injured in his second game and we never saw him again!

I think the fact he's a local boy will give him a lot of leeway.

My cousin played with him in the youth setup at WBA and he thinks he's something special, so fingers crossed.

We've done ok this transfer window.

Kept Griffiths so we didn't end up with a problem at GK, cover in at RB, and brought in three in forward areas, whilst keeping hold of Scully.

Slightly bigger squad now, which was needed. Saturday was the first time this season Appleton has had to leave out fit players from his 18!

A little disappointed we didn't get a CM in to be honest, we're too samey in there and can't battle and get control of a game (see Burton on Saturday).

The fact we’ve managed to get rid of Cosgrove & Pyke bizarrely makes it the best window in Salop’s history.

I’m off down the local for a beer
Why didn't Cosgrove work out? He smashed up defences in Scotland at a similar standard to League One. I remember Scunny fans laughing when we signed Lyle Taylor and Cambridge fans having nothing good to say about Joe Pigott so not going to judge Cosgrave by one failed loan.

Absolutely love Matete. Hope he does well for them. I've never seen such a fearless young player. Was a joy to watch last season, the only consistent bright spark in a dark season.

I think we will fall short of playoffs this season …. But this team fully gelled going into next season with max 4/5 additions in the summer is exciting. I think in the summer we will be looking at a permanent gk (or extension of Trafford), left footed cover for Johnston (I think Senior will be back up for Gethin next season, Aimson as Santos back up) and proper competition for Declan John, Fossey permanently (which is the most important as he’s brilliant) and maybe cover/competition for MJ as Tutte will be off.

Just to add to that… we have to keep hold of Dapo and Santos at all costs for at least another season

Undoubtedly they get a decent sum from Arsenal. The owner seems to be trying to build facilities that create income streams to make them sustainable so fair play to them.
They were the only club in non-league who charged the journos to get in, wasn't uncommon for the local radio people to be refused entry unless they paid and they would kicked out straight after, interviews in the car park after the game more often than not.

Saturday was a throw back to games like Accrington, Wimbledon and Shrewsbury where we were just bullied in midfield. Yes the conditions played a part but never got going at any point even after we scored.

Rip up this league next season......Good players are starting to want to come to us again.
If we get offered crazy money for Santos or Dapo i would take it

And there’s some incredible value if you look hard enough if we do get some good offers. Morley looks a steal at 75k.

We’ve had a cracking window, got rid of Dahlberg, Cuckur and Vilca all useless and signed Agard, Griffiths, Younger, Clayton and Mitchell on permanent deals plus Jackson, Martin and Odubeko on loan. Also got a sport science strength and conditioning coach (bloody needed one) and Glynn Hodges as set piece coach. We definitely look a better side even if the results aren’t coming yet, the lack of fitness of the squad overall is telling and one of the main reasons we are where we are. We still have Anderson, John, Close, Bostock, Taylor, Gardner and Okenhibirie to come back that’s not a bad squad especially for League 2

Pretty happy with our business, we've replaced everyone who needed replacing, made a huge net profit on transfer fees and have a squad strong enough to cope with the backlog of fixtures we have. To get Jamie McGrath and Graeme Shinnie for under 200k combined is excellent business in particular. My only worry is Magennis up front, he was shite on Saturday and isn't a patch on Charlie Wyke.

Can't judge him after 1 match mate.

Hopefully he does get splinters then - and doesn’t get game time going on what you said…
I suppose young players improve. He didn’t look too good under pressure, didn’t like having to play the ball with his feet and his positioning was at times dreadful.

We’ve got in Lewis Wing from Boro on loan, apparently Pompey were in for him too so fvck knows how we pulled that one off.
We're no longer a big fish in this league, financially. We've basically been told that we couldn't afford him. This is despite moving on some high earners in this transfer window and having a pretty small squad.

The Cowleys have made mistakes for sure, but I wouldn't be surprised if they jacked it in. Don't seem to be getting the financial support they require to actually get near the top of the table.

If we finish top 10 then they've probably done ok.
