I believe so - he was at Solihull Moors last season and had a decent season.

We need a unit to be fair, a decent target man in the team on NYD and we at least get an equaliser against Bristol Rovers.

Cant argue with that, although the transfer market seems to have dropped off since then, since Covid. I'd be happy with £3m tbh. The reality is that we could sign some top players with that money with some fees & wages over the next 6 months and become a team to actually challenge the top 6 IMO.
Our Chairman and CEO have said the arse has dropped out the Championship transfer market in the last two or three years. We've probably not got what we should have done for the players we've sold to Championship sides.

That's obviously a shitter when you're like us and are using Championship sales as your model!

Sounding like Rekeem Harper will be going back to Ipswich. Hasn't played a minute under Caldwell and wasn't on the bench on Saturday
Not sure what's happened to him, he was really highly rated recently yet has hardly played anywhere.

Couple of outs, Harry Boyes has been recalled by Sheff Utd and Connor Wickham has left after the expiry of his contract.

We're being linked with Kyle Hudlin who's on loan at Wimbledon from Huddersfield. His stats don't look great to be honest.
He scored two goals, and I think made the third, against us in the pizza cup. This might sound odd, but other than that did not look great, but quite frankly to me that is enough. Got the sense he was worth a go at league 2 level at the least.

We’ve signed 18 year old goalkeeper Fiachra Pagel from Drogheda Utd, and loaned him straight back till the summer.

According to Alan Nixon looks like Jack Stevens will be staying with us for the season after initial thought Oxford might recall him. At least that adds some stability at the keeper position until summer. At that point we really need to sort it out long term though.

How was Wickham been? First time he’s been fit for ages it seems.

Strange one as he has the physical attributes to be class but hasn’t pushed on at all. Don’t think he can play for more than 2 clubs in a season though so McKenna must want him in and around our squad. Has he played in the fa cup?

Wickham’s been decent, scored some cracking goals but don’t expect him to run a lot or jump for headers.

Morgan Whittaker has gone back to Swansea which is a shame but I'm sure Schumacher has somebody lined up.

Wow I was joking when I said please before Saturday. He was immense in his last game for you. From the outside looking in that’s a big loss that.

Ipswich calling?

Championship interest also, apparently.

Apparently he’s absolutely fuming about it too as he wanted to stay
He posted a Instagram post and a post to his story basically stating his displeasure at being recalled. One of his sentences stated that he was “devistated” to be leaving.

Cant imagine that has gone down to well with his parent club.

Not a chance in hell will he play for you guys after that heartfelt message to our club surely? Lol
There must be concrete interest in him for him to be recalled unless he’s going to play for Swansea? If he plays a game for Swansea does that mean he can only play for you or them until the end of the season? You can’t play for more than 2 clubs in the same season anymore can you? Will be interesting if he’s in the Swansea squad at the weekend.

Won’t be as cup tied, next league game for them is the 14th.

Disappointing, and the fact he’s publicly gutted makes it all the more frustrating. His Instagram story was a couple of angry emojis but it was soon deleted, probably got a telling off.

The risk you take with the loan market. Talented player who we’ll miss for the time being but I trust Schuey and co to replace him before the window closes. Schuey is an excellent coach who brings the best out of players, look at the improvement in Whittaker from last season at Lincoln to now. No reason he can’t do the same with the next player we sign.

Finn Azaz will be back soon also, which will be a boost. Also frees up that 5th loan spot, some talk of Jay Matete coming in, but who knows.

We're after Josh Hawkes from Tranmere Rovers apparently along with Barnsley and Salford.

Should see a couple of incomings before our next game on 14th Jan. Our recruitment has mostly been spot on under Taylor in the last year or two, so hopefully Caldwell can do similar. L1 experience is needed.

A defender is top of the list but with Harper most likely going back to Ipswich, I expect a midfielder too. Michael Jacobs at Pompey could be a shout…Experienced and worked with Caldwell at Wigan.

Jacobs will give you 15 games a season. Suffered with numerous injuries since signing which is a real shame as he has undoubted talent. Also means he has lost any pace he might have and is still on relatively big wages. I'd imagine we'd do a deal to contribute to his wages to get him off the books.

Heard a whisper that we've agreed a fee with Posh for Jack Taylor. Don't know much about him, but Ball and Camara out for the season most likely, so makes sense.

Ourselves and Charlton are being linked with Ibane Bowat from Fulham. A left-sided centre back. Looks like Lewis Freestone's injury could end his season.

Can't see a player choosing us over Charlton though.

Seems we have an offer in place for Nathan Broadhead. Would be happy with that.

Calm down lads!

Haha, I have a feeling this may be a crazy window.

1) Our CEO will be under pressure from our owners to make sure we have the players to get promoted. Anything but promotion is seen as a failure.
2) The FFP is basically non-existent, well easily avoided in league one, but is much stricter in the Championship, so it's very much preferable to make signings before getting promoted. Although we don't want to end up stuck in league one with big money signings for another season as being 3rd I'm getting worried.

Sheff Wed and Plymouth have been far more consistent so I'm not getting carried away for sure. I've seen us mess things up way too many times before so I have a constantly negative view for our chances of promotion.

Wouldn't take any notice of that Football League World trash. As bad as the 'FLZone' or 'FLTransferhub' type twitter handles, made up rubbish for clicks.

For point 2 it’s actually the opposite. FFP is much stricter in league 1 and 2 than the championship because wages are restricted to a percentage of turnover. When you go up to the championship it doesn’t work in the same way - it’s based on a maximum permitted loss. No wage restriction at all. The championship is harder but you are allowed to have larger losses measured over a 3 season period, more capital investment from owners and the club gets more tv revenue. So it’s not preferable to make signings before promoted. Once promoted you can spend more money.
