Signed a new two year deal with us today.
Yeah, a shame for us but then maybe we were used for some leverage to get him an improved deal with you. Or maybe we were close to signing him, who knows.

Back to the drawing board!

Our player of the season Dylan McGeouch has turned down a new contract and left the club. Another kick in the bollocks that, a real quality player.
Really you had a player of the season???????

It looks like McGoldrick is looking to finish his career at Notts County and lots of talk of them wrapping it up this week.

He was excellent for us last season, finished the season in excellent form and won our POTY award. He was probably on a decent wage here too, with a likely improved contract offer for this season (£12k a week) but looks like he’s off to League Two. Strange.

It means we will be in the market for at least 3 strikers this summer, along with Knight who could also move on then it will be some rebuild - essentially a blank slate.

I guess you're likely to have the pick of the best players in this league unless they decide to go to the Championship. You'll also be able to fund the very best loans from the Premier League, so you should be very competitive next season. Just depends if the manager is capable of bringing together a squad rather than just talented individuals (see Plymouth).

Bonkers that you can afford to pay £12k per week to some players. I'm guessing that's 3 or 4 times what our highest paid players is on! Just shows how difficult it is to get signings in the building when you're competing with that in the same league!

Yep. Reckon that medal will be right up there with his SPL and Scottish Cup ones he won with Celtic and Hibs.

We are being linked with Kieron Bowie who was on loan at Northampton last season.

Show Charlton who's boss and double what they've offered for Alfie - you know it makes sense.

Northampton are being linked with a move for Rotherham striker and 'long throw' specialist Joshua Kayode.

Would be surprised if it happens. A lot of rumours that he wants to play further north or even return north of the border. If he does stay in this area I would have thought there was a chance he would stay with us for another season.

Can play as a wide forward or up top, im not really sure which is his best position. Puts an absolute shift in and uses his physicality really well for a young lad, lacks a bit of pace though. Chipped in with 5 goals, think he can definitely add to that tally with more experience and with a team that's a bit more expansive. Would be a good signing for any side mid table or lower IMO.

We got burnt with Andy Dallas who was homesick so I'd rather we look elsewhere to be honest.

Dallas looked really promising in pre-season then missed home and went backwards.

Newcastle are set to buy one of our 14 year old academy lads Michael Mills for 200k apparently.

We also want him back, would hope due to last years loan we’d have the edge, but as Jord points out he’ll probably go further north.

Matt Taylor hasn't really had a chance to look at JK yet as he was injured while at MK Dons and hardly played last season.
He may be willing to let him go but you would think he wants to assess what JK is capable of first.

He could be a real handful for defences when we had him on loan in L2 a couple of seasons ago and I thought back then he was L1 class.

Would be a decent signing for any lower half to mid table L1 team, but I seriously doubt he would be good enough for you in the championship.

Only question is about his injuries... a feel like going anyone with injury concerns after last year would cut it off straight away.

In regards to Bowie, supposedly his girlfriend is pregnant which is why he wants to spend this year back up north, but then there was something online about a loan deal up to Scotland breaking down, so who knows.

We're in for CM Alistair Smith from Sutton by the sounds of it.

Kacper Lopata signs a 4 year deal at Barnsley. Could be a very good signing that one, I wouldnt have minded him here

Looks like we're currently working on deals to bring back Charlie Kelman from QPR on another season long loan and re-signing Macauley Bonne.

Kelman did ok for us last season, fits Wellens style but not the most clinical in front of goal. He did score the most out of all our strikers though with 7 goals.

Bonne would also fit our style of play, but if he does rejoin us he will probably be expected to hit the ground running........

Bonne is exactly the sort of player we would have been far better with last season. I know he’s not Championship standard and I know Charlton fans hate him, but if he puts in the sort of shifts he did in his first spell I’d be extremely happy. We’d have been promoted by mid-March if we hadn’t been pissing around with Drinan and Kelman.

Speaking of whom, I’d be mightily underwhelmed if we re-signed Kelman on loan. Think his level is League Two, especially with the main supply line likely to be broken when Paul Smyth leaves. Not a player who can create for himself.

Haydon Roberts looks to be joining Bristol City - good move for him. It felt like he had finally found his feet at this level towards the back end of the season and he developed quickly under Warne. Always a risk that once a Championship club came in for him that it would be difficult for us to bring him back.

Wish him all the best going forward - it will be interesting to see where he plays and Bristol and how he gets on. A very capable defender, with ok ability on the ball, I would say his best position is left back of a four but it sounds like he wants to play centre back.

Bonne put in the worst performance I saw against us last season, when we played Charlton at home. I was expecting him to be a threat, but honestly looked like Charlton had just done a raffle for a fan to play upfront. Incredibly laboured. No surprise their fans don't like him.

We've been linked with Alex Jakubiak, any Gills or Bristol Rovers fans able to give a bit of info on him? Good enough for League One?

He's crap, going by his statistics.

We can do better than him surely.

Didn't seem particularly good at anything, scored a couple and then left.

We had him on loan years ago.

Michael Appleton signed him when he first arrived and had to throw a load of kids at it. He was entirely anonymous and doesn't appear to have done anything since.

Got to be honest no idea who he is or if he’s any good. Bigger question I would have is how can it be possible Wigan are even looking at signing anyone at the moment??

Because Wigan are the massive overlords of League One who expect nothing less than mega spending and automatic promotion to get them back to where they belong.

Been told that our chances of retaining our two best players last season Paul Smyth and Lawrence Vigouroux are very, very, very slim.

Apparently we offered Smyth a very, very good offer for ourselves but Ipswich have offered double. Not much we can really do, the only reason he ended with us was because of injuries.

Vigs apparently has offers from ALOT of clubs, including one from Ligue One in France.
