Joe Piggott now confirmed on a two year deal.

We need one more forward player and a centre back (we currently only have two fit ones) and we will be ready to go.
Seems like Turns is maybe coming back based on the comments from Wellens? I'd be happy with that, thought he did a great job and got better the more he played.

The forward player will surely be a wide man you'd think. Can see us getting someone in on loan most likely.

Happy with how our squad has shaped up, kept the core of the promotion side together including the essential El Mizouni, strengthened the midfield, signed a good replacement for Vigs, replaced Smyth with the excellent Agyei, who had more goals and assists and a decent striker in Pigott - the one position we struggled with last season.

Confident we can stay up with what I see.

Barnsley were apparently close to signing young CB Jesse Debrah after leaving Halifax (compensation required as he's under 24) but their local media guy said yesterday that it had broken down and he was in talks with us.

Very quickly it became Lincoln, Notts County, Walsall and Carlisle all mentioned but we seem to have distanced ourselves from it so sounds like his agent is doing a job of touting him around and planting stories everywhere.

More rumours here that we’re about to announce the loan signing of Jay Stansfield for another season.

Not sure what to make of it to be honest. On one hand I’d be absolutely buzzing, as would every other Exeter fan. But on the other hand, I think he needs a Championship move to help with his development. Assumed Rotherham and/or Swansea would be interested.

If we can pull it off, it’s a hell of a signing… again.

Alan Nixon and other sources reporting we’ve bid £300,000 for Mendes Gomes from Luton.

Seem to recall he’s half-decent at this level.

Another i dont get !!

Was quality at Morecambe, but he is a winger. Upgrade on Kachunga, but way behind Dapo

Wonder if Evatt thinks he can turn him into a RWB pace to burn.....Dont think we have anyone like him
Did he play wing back for Morecambe at all? Don’t know if I’m dreaming about that? Or even though it’s highly unlikely… Back 4 and wingers with Johnston injured. Can’t see it though and I’d actually be gutted if we go back to wingers and don’t have Dapo anymore. Think he’ll end up as the number 10.

Doubt he is in there plans in the premiership when they loaned him out last season when they were in the championship

We appear to have Max Woltman on trial with us. It hasn't been confirmed 'officially', but BBC Radio Oxford said it was him on tonight's commentary when he came on for the last 15-20 mins. Don't know if he is still actually a Liverpool player or free agent though.

Strong rumours that we're trying to get Chelsea's Tino Anjorin on a season loan. He was at our training ground yesterday.

Very talented 21 year old attacking midfielder who has struggled with injuries last couple of years. Would be a gamble but definitely a difference maker if we can keep him fit and on the pitch. This is a position we have been looking to fill all summer.

We had one last season who has captained Liverpool's youth teams and plays for England U20s. Cant get much more highly rated than that for a young kid and he struggled massively in L1.
Charlie Colkett was another 'highly rated' captain from Chelsea who flopped for us.
On the flip side we had Elliot Anderson in L2 who was phenomenal and last season was on Newcastle's bench all season.
Until they are chucked into the men's game its difficult to tell how much of a learning curve they face, hence us lower league folk are the test centres.
Agree. We signed Joe White from Newcastle who had just signed a new deal for them and was said to be held in high regard by Eddie Howe. He showed flashes but ultimately really struggled to nail down a place in our team.

This season we’ve brought in three premier legacies loans so far, all of whom have excelled in either u20s or B teams, but time will tell if they’re ready for the harshness of EFL football.
We've had more hits than misses.

Had four loan GK's (2x WBA, Stoke and Brighton) who've all been more than good enough for us, Brooke Norton-Cuffey (Arsenal), Morgan Rogers (Man City) and Brennan Johnson (Forest) were all excellent, especially BNC and Johnson. TJ Eyoma (Spurs) as well who we ended up signing permanently.

It's been CM where we've found decent, young loan signings had to come by. Fiorini (Man City) was too lightweight, technical and tippy tappy although he improved in the final two months of the season, Conor Coventry (West Ham) looked nothing more than a very average lower league midfielder and last season Tashan Oakley-Boothe (Stoke) was an absolutely wet lettuce. A striker, but N'Lundulu (Southampton) will go down on a list of our worst ever loan signings I think.

We've noticeably switched stance and have seemed to opt for higher league loan signings who we are more likely to be able to attract on permanents. I suspect PL loans come with a huge price tag nowadays given the money some of these young lads are on now.

Mendes Gomes was signed by us during the 21/22 summer window. At that time it was obvious we had designs on being a primarily 433 team with perhaps an attacking 10 and some genuine width in the side. He made a few sub appearances but looked a bit weak and not particularly quick, certainly needed to bulk up for a championship player so we sort of waited for that to happen so he had little impact.

We then sort of stumbled upon the 352 a few games later and never really looked back from that point onward playing it ever since. He had no position in that shape for us really, and although we tried him in both, he’s not wing back, not a centre midfield player in the manner we play the 352 with high pressing energetic midfield players. He’s not a true striker either. So he was totally lost and basically became one of the few signings we’ve made recently that just hasn’t worked. He needs to move this summer to re-ignite his career as I do think there’s a player there we just aren’t the team for him unfortunately. We tend to look for high pressing athletes and he’s just not that.

His last appearance for us was at RWB but we also tried him at CM. I think his true position is wide with some licence to cut in with support of more pacey fullback or as a 10. He seems to have had a solid loan at Fleetwood last season so they may be able to tell you a bit more of him and his best positions as we never really saw it here.

Sounds like we're looking to bring three more in but nothing imminent. Squad numbers wise we're probably in a position where we can just about afford to wait and fill those during the season if we need to but we definitely need to fill the squad out a bit by the end of the window.

CB is an absolute must, maybe even two if we can, a CM and a wide player are where we need them.

Bonner has confirmed we’re definitely going to sign two wingers. We’re being patient as good players seem to be holding out. I think two wingers and another striker should see us good for the start of the season.

He can play as a CAM, which is where we used him, he's not a out and out winger either, he was always given the role to roam free

Sort of the problem with him really in my view. Hes technically nice but a bit of a luxury player, most top sides these days aren’t carrying number 10s whose defensive utility or ability in the press is minimal

We’re apparently interested in loaning Dom Ballard from Southampton. Meant to idolise Matt Le Tissier or at least that’s what they want you to believe.

That is what has my head scratching....No doubt he can be lethal in the bottom 2 divisions, but we got rid of Dapo and have Sadlier with us at present, but we also play 352

Think Evatt sees him as a 10....not convinced but a upgrade on Kachunga

As well as Mendes Gomes, apparently we’re looking to sign Ross Sykes from Union SG.

Dale Taylor confirmed on loan from Forest, was on loan at Burton last season, with a 1 in 4 strike rate.

I can’t see that one myself and we can and probably will do better.
