Been a quiet month so far for us, we completed a fair amount of our current business early but since I've last been on we've signed Dan Butler from Peterborough and added a loanee goalkeeper from West Ham, Krisztian Hegyi.

Quite happy with the Butler signing on paper, always thought he was a decent left back when he wasat Newport and has largely been at this level since he left them.

Hegyi is an intriguing signing. Obviously we need to go into the campaign with more than one keeper so he fits the bill in that respect. Making the assumption that Taye Ashby-Hammond will be our number one, seems odd that West Ham would want to send him to us for his development.

Not sure if he's still on trial with us or not but we've had Curtis Thompson playing for us in a couple of the friendlies so far. Would be the fourth Thompson to sign this summer if he was to join, he hasn't played for Peteborough or Portsmouth though, which might count against him.

It doesn’t seem like Warne is confident of too many more, which concerns me. LWB, AM and ST. It does seem the striker choice is between Godden and Rhodes as he cited experienced championship players.

I hope he’s discounting loan players, as they’ve said they don’t expect to look into the loan market until after the season has started and they want to keep ‘all their slots’ open.

We had one of the smallest squads in the football league last season, used the least amount of players anyway, which we seem to want to emulate again this season. I’d say we need 6 more to be comfortable and content with injuries as they rear their head, doesn’t seem like that’s the plan from the people that matter.

He’d be a quality signing for most sides at this level *if* you can keep him fit, but I suspect his injury record would be why we let him go in the first place.

Hope he finds a club though.

I can’t see that one myself and we can and probably will do better.
if you think Cambridge can attract 2 better wingers than sadlier i would say you are deluded he is no world beater but he is certainly good enough for a team that will finish bottom half league 1

Where did I say we could attract two better wingers? Sadler went on loan to league two last season and we are possibly in for Sullay KaiKai who we could argue is as good, if not better.

Is Sadler quick? We play with quick wingers as we like to hit on the break.

Sadlier has more goals in him than Cameron Jerome, Danny Nlundulu and Victor Adeboyejo put together, really oirried abut those 3 as our strikefoce from what they have shown so far

What about Charles and Bod? Won't they start ahead of those 3?

On the Brentford forum it's been rumored that Matthew Cox is coming to us on a season long loan

Hasn't played a senior game but has been on the bench in numerous Premier League games as back up to Raya and played in the U20 World Cup

If true would be an improvement on what we have and a gamble worth taking....fingers crossed for a James Trafford like loan

Sadlier is one who would probably start for us most weeks if we played wingers. Weve been trying to shoe horn him into a different role which hasn’t really worked out properly. He’s got some quality technique though with both feet… he’s better than league 2 imo but would have to be playing wingers to get anything like the best out of him.

and also Tristan Crama from Brentford as well. CB. I guess that means Connor Taylor is a no-go

Two more signings for us today.

First one through the door is Joe Anderson (CB) who joins on a season long loan from Sunderland.

Second one is Taylor Perry (CM) on a two year deal with an option of a third year in the clubs favour. Spent time at Cheltenham on loan last season and was released by Wolves in the summer.

Happy with how our squad is coming together, we have a very solid starting 11 which should do well and we now have plenty of strength in depth for the first time in three seasons. No more naming 4 or 5 subs for us, great news!

Just need a striker and then incredibly our whole transfer business is completed before the season even kicks off. Don’t think I’ve ever known that to happen for Salop before.

EDIT:- Going toe to toe with Burnley for best signing announcement videos.

I still wouldn't be suprised if Kieran Sadlier ended up back with us - Would probably be a loan again though as I'd imagine Bolton are paying him well.

We're announcing a signing at 7pm. Could be Sadlier then.

Kaikai back on a one year deal. That’s one crossed off the needed list. Out and out winger with pace and a decent goal threat. Happy with that.

Having made any attacking signings in this window yet, with Brady suggesting that he's willing to be patient as possible to try and get as much quality as we can for our budget. A little bit worrying we've got 1 fit Striker with less than two weeks to season start, but I guess this is the crunch time.

Supposedly been linked with Tyreece Simpson on loan. As Striker's tend to cost an arm and a leg I imagine it'll be a loan of some sort either way coming in.

We definitely need a couple more CBs. He's a right footer just like Wilson and Connolly. We also could be looking for a left footed CB or maybe JB is planning on playing George Friend in a 3 on the left! Think JB would still want Connor and I'd be very happy with Wilson, Taylor and Friend with Connolly and Crama as backups!

Connor Taylor has been linked with us on a permanent deal. Or at least he was last week

Aye heard that, along with 2 other Champ clubs. I’d be surprised if true, he has barely any Champ experience and the rest of it is at L2. L1 he’s surely worth it, but not sure I’d pay money at your level tbh.

Anyways, Barton says 2 on loan tomorrow (as posted above) and another 2 by Saturday. I assume they’re the ones on trial.

GK sounds interesting but if they are the trialists then I would like another ‘big’ name or 2, so to speak

I've seen that....do you really need another inexperienced CB?....you've already got Gibson!

Maybe add Taylor and loan us at least one....preferably Gibson as we need a LCB!

Blimey, Plymouth wanting the CB pairing for the Championship that we were hoping for last season in L1, and this season to be fair!

Seem to remember him being pretty decent at Swindon when he was loaned there. Big unit from what remember of him. He’s one a few of our fans have suggested for us to sign (which normally means they definitely don’t end up here).

It’ll be interesting to see if Gibson is a starter, we’ve got 3 left footed centre backs now, Gillesphey, Galloway and Gibson. We do need another right footer, which could be Taylor, but I doubt he’d get in over Pleguezuelo from Fc Twente straight away.

Stoke fans have been slating Taylor on their forum saying he isnt good enough yet for the Championship. Apparently had a right mare in their last friendly.
Gibson is class though, if you can keep him fit, like we did for the majority of the season

He was shite for us out wide in a three. Good feet but entirely too laconic for my liking. Did a job but didn’t move the needle in terms of impact on League Two games. Hope we’re not in for him.

Yeah think we’ve got the better winger in KaiKai.

Surprised we’ve pulled it off as Masi said Sadlier is the best us Cambridge fans could hope for.
