Happy enough with that, should suit our system, overall a very good transfer window for us and much improved on last season, only slight worry is a lack of cover at left wing back.

I liked him when we had him, all be it in league 2.

To be honest he’s what we were missing, big, strong, good in the air. So I’m happy with it.
Glad you didn't have him when you played us. Might have given you the edge.

Though considering Rotherham got Nombe off of us, there must have been a conversation between managers about taking Kayode in return, I'm guessing we thought we were getting better strikers (though it doesn't look like we have anyone now)

Our manager has said there were loads of clubs interested but he was keen on coming back here due to the familiarity, and in my opinion probably because he knows he’ll walk straight into our team.

Loft isn't a great player but he might work nicely as a focal point in our system. Ellis was shite in my opinion apart from the 1st ten games or so....if we've got a half decent fee we are laughing.

Fair enough letting Ellis go, done alright but as I say we haven’t missed him during the last five games and if we got money then all the best to him. Loft its just hard for me to get too up on this one. I suppose as an option to bring on to try and get his head on Grant and Chislett deliveries might work.

I’m more concerned how thin we are at LWB. This is a big risk especially as Grants injury record recently hasn’t been the best.

Couldn’t agree terms with Portsmouth on their wing back apparently even though the player wanted the move. Would maybe look at someone like Emmanuel who’s a free agent as cover, Mitch can play either side.

Plant has done well there but it’s not ideal and Shorrock looked no where near ready on Tuesday.

Disappointing yes, but I think disaster is overstretching it a bit.
Caldwell himself said he was confident of getting two more over the line today, there is a chance that they might be announced tomorrow but in terms of strikers we are currently well short.

And we’ve kept hold of Owen Moxon. Big plus for us, especially now we have someone actually capable of attacking his quality deliveries.

Looking at our squad now, it certainly has depth which we simply haven’t had in what feels like 4-5 years.

Goalkeepers: Joe Wildsmith, Josh Vickers
Defenders: Kane Wilson, Jake Rooney, Curtis Nelson, Sonny Bradley, Eiran Cashin, Craig Forsyth, Callum Elder
Midfielders: Joe Ward, Nathaniel Mendez-Laing, Conor Hourihane, Max Bird, Korey Smith, Liam Thompson, Tyrese Fornah, Elliot Embleton, Louie Sibley, Tom Barkhuizen.
Strikers: Martyn Waghorn, Conor Washington, Tyreese John-Jules & James Collins.

The lieks of Darren Robinson, Dujuane Brown, Ben Radcliffe & Max Bardell from the youth team to back these up too in a case of an emergency.

It looks like Brighton came to the table with a £4m bid for Cashin but was far too late and was rejected purely on the basis that we couldn‘t find alternatives within the time left. No idea why they left it so late - if they had offered £4m even 24 hours ago then it would’ve been accepted (I’m sure).

I’m fairly happy with what we have now, hopefully the management staff can work on the form and fitness of the team and find the best XI from the above squad.

FML only Rovers. Club didn't get the paperwork through in time for the 11pm deadline, deal didn't go through

Ouch, this is the problem dealing with MacAnthony and Fry as it seems to me they’ve been playing for time all day on it. Frankly if my club never had to deal with them I’d be happy about it. Am sure he’ll be on Talkshite tomorrow to tell anyone who’ll listen about what happened down to every detail.

No doubt he’ll be telling everyone how it was all some plan from the beginning. And yes, only Marquis as a recognised striker now. Fucking hell.

Got to feel for JCH as well. Who has to go back to the hotel to meet his squad and stay the next 3+ months.

What a shambles

Wait… you genuinely just have one single striker on your books?? I just came across that on Twitter but dismissed it as bollocks as that just doesn’t happen. Wow. Imagine if Marquis gets injured for a few months tomorrow now. No excuses why any club in League 1 should have no less than 4 strikers heading into September.

Seems like things were so frantic and uncertain and ultimately didn’t work out. Really frustrating and I am clinging on to us announcing someone tomorrow or even a freebie next week - although who the hell that could be, I don’t know!

Hopefully Muskwe impresses and we can keep up the form.

One recognised striker, he’s. Collins and Brown are CFs

Apparently Hanlan to Wrexham didn’t go through either, very odd.

We completed another loan signing just before the deadline last night - Jovan Malcolm, a forward from West Brom.

That's 7 loan signings, so 2 will be in the stands every week (one is out for 2 months already tbf).

Kieran Sadlier has been let go as a free gent by mutual consent and Declan John has gone on loan to Salford.. All in all an underwhelming transfer window, Paying £300,000 for Dan Nlundulu the low part for me. Sadlier and Afolayan, who we let go for £5000,00 the last window could at least unlock defences in tight games That's 2 disappointing transfer windows in a row. Hope we have not gone backwards.

3 strikers then. Literally no difference.
Yes there is. Collins (can’t comment about Brown as too early) can’t play top of 4-2-3-1, which is what we play. He isn’t as effective as central 4-3-3 either, which is our back up formation.

We built a squad around a formation and then shot ourselves in the foot by messing up paperwork and selling Loft to Port Vale.

And even still, 3 strikers is still not acceptable when all 3 start the game. We have no options to chance games until January

I don’t listen to most interviews from any team, never bothered by them. But even I’m dreading this one.

Problem is it gives him free reign to point fingers every time we don’t win as well

We are usually pretty good with giving updates on what to expect on deadline day and when we've completed our business. However yesterday, and so far this morning, there's been nothing from the club or the local press which makes it seem like we have business still to be announced or done.

Sadlier's the only free agent we've been linked with so I assume it must be him. Apparently he was in our youth system for a bit so he has a small link with the club already.

If its not him then perhaps a deal for someone else has fallen through. Definitely need a midfielder though.

Is Sadlier a winger? We’ve got plenty of them but need a CM.

Plays multiple positions including wing back and RW, and also centrally, though from what I've heard when he's used more centrally it's usually further forward and more as a number 10.

Not sure what his best position would be? Perhaps a fan of one of his previous clubs could answer that?

From the sounds of it he wouldn't necessarily be the exact type of midfielder we ideally want, unless Bonner thinks differently?

We need a box to box midfielder I’m not sure Sadlier is that?
