If that £7k figure was accurate I think it'd be nigh on impossible to get anyone to find anyone who'd give him the sort of money that would make it worth his while unless he's really desperate to leave.

If true, and it wouldn't surprise me, this just shows what we're up against. A club who clearly can't afford to spend 7k a week from their income, spending 7k a week and also on a pretty bang average player. The whole system needs a rethink.

We've recalled Freddie Draper from Walsall.

In one respect I'm a little surprised because I thought it'd be later in the window if we decided to and see who else we could bring in but on the flip side of the coin, our Xmas form and general lack of anything was alarming so it makes sense to get him back in the building if that's what we were edging towards anyway.

He's had an excellent 2023 on loan at Drogheda (9 goals) in Ireland and then Walsall (10 in 19) and chipped in with assists as well so an 18, now 19, year old scoring 19 in a calendar year in mens football isn't to be sniffed at.

We've not seen *that* much of him in a Lincoln shirt but he's got great reviews during both his loan spells. Certainly looks like has the physicality for first team football at a young age. saddler78 will have seen him more than us Lincoln lot.
Freddie was great here be interesting to see if he can do it in League one if you play him I think he can strong works his nuts off holds it up well and scores goals he could be a player who goes higher from what I've seen of him with us.

He needs the ball to his feet. He can be lazy and mardy too. Very skilful and has a great eye. Not played enough for us to judge his abilities- Morecambe fans will know more. We have screwed him over really, and so he is on the bench or “injured”
He has said he wants out - so it is reported. The only way he stays is if we get a new manager who moulds a team round him.
Apparently on 7k a week.
No way on earth we would pay that to anyone our highest earners are on about 2500 lol

We can afford it. We cut out cloth by selling players and have a good commercial revenue. However it’s circumstantial as we do not know if it’s true. I bet it’s over 5k.
In the championship I bet we had more players on higher sums than this.

He will have to half his wages to get Interest. And his attitude stinks. Talented no doubt but not worth that figure if it’s true. Probably end up at Oldham or somewhere like that.

Yeah I think he got a proper pouty face on when Morecambe wouldn’t let him leave last season and that would put me off signing him as you know it’s a matter of time before he does the same.

Odd one, from seeing them Saturday their attack didn't seem a problem.
You can never have enough goalscorers and they did miss some chances against us.
Seems JCH (or his dodgy agent) are stalling over the contract - maybe that was the reason it fell through with us and we havent revisited it

Could be the sticking point, not sure on the ownership situation at Charlton these days but their fans have obviously been negative in the past to it.

Ryan Trevitt has gone back to Brentford. A shame as he is a good player, but he is out with injury so not a great loss to us in the short term.

Alan Nixon reporting Vale and Exeter competing for Jake Young at Bradford who spent first part of the season on loan at Swindon and did well. Apparently some sort of six figure fee involved.

Joe Taylor recalled by Luton from Colchester, heading back out to Bolton on loan instead apparently.

Seems to have had a decent season in a very poor team.

I don't know much about him but you have to wonder why he was loaned out to a team in the same division. Clearly made the most of his loan spell though.

Just seen this. I’m in two minds. He clearly is talented, has youth on his side and has had a superb half season at Swindon, but he’s struggled elsewhere. I’ve also heard he might have a bit of an attitude issue, but that’s just hearsay.

Also, with 18 months left on his deal at Bradford he’s going to command a huge fee (by our standards). But, fuck it anyone is better than what we currently have (Sonny Cox aside). And if Vale get Mellon would they need Young too!?

Aye that would be my concern. He wouldn't be the first player to hit a purple patch in L2 and not replicate it anywhere else after that. Does happen in that league more than most. Guess at 22 you're buying potential.

Mellon was mentioned by Radio Stoke from what I gather but I'd believe it when I see it. In truth up top has gone down the list of priorities for me behind CB, CM and LWB. Not that am against any chance to reduce having to see Ryan Loft on the pitch.

Bit nervous about this one. Feels like it's set up for him to end up somewhere else in L1 with the amount of our fans on Twitter acting like he's already signed for us.

Not the first time Bradford sent an out of favour striker to Swindon on loan and he ended up scoring loads there...
Always wary at that especially as Swindon seem to get the best out of strikers who often struggle elsewhere!

That said must be an upgrade on Ryan Loft but would depend on the fee I guess.

Seems we’ve decided to switch our target, now going after Niall Ennis.

Recall him doing well for Plymouth last season.

Joe Taylor to us on loan was agreed last week apparently and trained with us yesterday. Probably not too much of a surprise if he ends up with here our link to Mick Harford, who's their recruitment guy.

Tbf probably a better move for the lad, brill signing for Lincoln. Garuanteed starts instead of constant rotation & 20 mins at the end of matches. Niall Ennis mentioned now but Barnslley in pole position according to reports, it's going to be difficult most likely loaning a striker for the second half of the season without the promise of them playing every game but will be interesting who rocks up at our place

I don't want to take all the credit but after the Barnsley home game, I had a good chat with Mick Harford in Cosy Club, who knows, could well have swayed it! (He was up watching their loanee for Barnsley).
