Not gone well I take it?
Not really. Started off ok, picked up an injury (surprise) early on and hasn't really established himself since getting back. Doesn't seem to be an Ainsworth type player. It says something when Taylor Perry is being picked ahead of him as he can get about the pitch more, despite Rossiter being a far better player but not as athletic.

Didn't help that nobody can really tell his best position. Was described as a box to box midfielder when we signed him, Hurst largely played him in a holding role, but I thought he looked more effective in an advanced role. Didn't help himself at Blackpool by watching his man run from the halfway line unchecked who then ran onto a loose ball and smacked it unopposed into the top corner.

Good luck to him and it's a shame it's not worked out.

Leaves us with Winchester, Gillead, Perry, Ojo (loan) and at a stretch Shipley, Castledine (loan) and O'Reilly (loan) as the midfield options. Surely reinforcements to come, as can see one or two of the loanees being let go too.

Jordan Rossiter loaned out from Shrewsbury to Oldham. Must be freeing up space in the squad, unless Carlisle are sending back Harrison Biggins
Great player -- Just injury prone. We did tell you.

Been told tonight from two separate sources (one called our signing today before anyone knew) that we are in talks with Lincoln about bringing Freddie Draper back here whether it's permanent or a loan I don't know that yet but we definitely want him.The general feeling seems to be they will let him go when they have someone else lined up.

Joel Colwill until the end of the season. We have a lot of midfielders as it is so expect a few to be departing shortly.

Amazing how transfer fees get blown up , the 3million has come from where ? I’m sure we’ve spent good money and deffo for league one but we do average double what most clubs in this division average like Lincoln and we did sell Rudoni to Coventry in the summer for supposedly 5 to 6 million so we should be fishing in a decent pond.
I'm not denying that you can afford it, that wasn't my point. My point was that in isolation, I think it's a lot of money for him.

The £3m was quoted online and on your forum as well by the looks of it. Whether that's an initial fee or a deal worth that amount, if two or three places are all saying the same thing then it's probably not a million miles off.

Added to that, our DoF was asked at the beginning of this year about Taylor and he said we'd spoken to Luton in the summer (about both loan and permanent) and would need to find £3m-£5m to get him permanently, which if you take into account he might be on, what £10k/week, maybe more? I don't know what you guys pay but he's not gonna be on £5k/week when you're spending potentially as much as you are on him, then suddenly that £3m-£5m quoted by our DoF kinda fits together.

Be interesting if any clubs are sniffing round Walsall players. Having a really good season. The top scorer has been recalled, so lets see where he ends up.

Looks like Carl Winchester will be next one out at Shrewsbury. Rumoured to be heading to Derry City to be closer to his family. Did an interview with the Shropshire Star last week saying he's finding it harder being away from home

Barnsley fans thinking they can get £4m+ for Adam Phillips

Seems like our interest is genuine, I guarantee if he goes, the fee doesn't get near £2m, nevermind double.

We're supposedly loaning out Terry Taylor with Dundee and Bolton interested. Would be silly to loan to a team in the same league. A weird one as he is a good player but Jones clearly doesn't like him so he's never in our squad

Saxon Earley has gone back to Plymouth. Waste of a loan signing, he only made three appearances and hardly even made the squad.

0 in and 3 out so far.

Skubala said yesterday that we're only looking at loan signings and not really of PL U21 types either, players with a bit more game time experience behind them. Got the impression that as it stands we'll be looking a striker and defender, possibly two defenders depending on Hamer's recovery and how O'Connor's shoulder is.

Cannot remember if I mentioned it but we’ve sent Tom Nichols out on loan to Swindon so that leaves a spot.

Clough seems very relaxed about it, we could end up with one or two more but he’s fine with what we’ve got. Definitely need a striker tho.

Bolton in particular would be a very daft team to loan him to, given you're both not out of contention for the playoff spots.

Came in last January and helped us over the line with some important goals and assists but doesn’t really suit a Clough side and not got a sniff this season, should be a good signing for Swindon.

Strong rumours we are signing Dion Charles, him and Taylor would be a massive upgrade on a couple of the strikers we have had to play this season, pretty much anyone would be though to be fair.

How much do you think Paul Mullin is worth?

Because we'll sign him off you and don't laugh because come on be honest, he hasn't been scoring for you this season so L1 is obviously not his level like L2 is and we can afford his wage which isn't that much from what I'm told.

You will surely want better goal scorers for this level, so what good is it keeping 30 year old Mullin around when you know deep down he's just not up to it in L1?

He needs to be moved on and you need to move on from him.

Like the look of this lad. Seems to have had a great spell at Cheltenham

No sorry. But can we interest you in a Sam Dalby? currently the top scorer in the SPL(he won't be able to play until next season).

Mullin's not going anywhere. Had spinal surgery in the summer and still some way off what he was, but no reason to think he is dropping off for good. The bloke is a talisman and a big star of the documentary so we will just keep him around for merchandise reasons.

He isn't going anywhere but if he did i don't think he go up to you lot. He's talked so many times about being close to home and his family. If he went it would be Tranmere, Crewe, Accrington or Salford, doubt they be able to afford him though

Our loanee keeper Charle Beech has been recalled by Chelsea. Not surprising as he wasn't getting in ahead of Wollacott.

Not a bad keeper by any means. Wales u21 and has only had one poor game in the times I've seen him.

Does mean we are in the market for a back up keeper.

Tom Bloxham sold to Blackpool for an undisclosed fee. Been our main attacking threat since Ainsworth has come in. Surely could have waited until after Thursday night, unless we've got reinforcements coming in imminently

We’ve signed Marko Marosi following his release from Plymouth. Ex Shrewsbury keeper. Anyone know much about him?

Excellent shot stopper, possibly one of the best in the league on his day, but for a modern day keeper distribution a bit suspect. I personnaly prefer a keeper who can stop the ball going in the net rather than pinging passes like a playmaker. Can be prone to the odd nightmare game, Oxford away last season was similar (but not as bad) as Savin had for us at your place in December. But can also win games with his saves.

Would have kept him at Shrewsbury but was allegedly on silly money and was offered a much lower contract to stay at the end of last season that he was never going to sign.
