James Jones left us for Burton. Good signing for them.

James Jones was a big part in the last few years. Works his balls off everyweek. Hope it works out well for him

2 words. We're desperate.

I very much doubt it'll be 2 mill.

It says 'undisclosed' and reports of the fee being 2 mill are just that - reports (ie. click bait). Parky won't pay the 'Wrexham Tax'....it's as if it's coming out of his own back pocket!

I think he could have done better than Burton but he's settled where he lives and it's not too far for him. I remember Lincoln fans didn't rate him but overall he's been good for us. He did have some of those anonymous games they warned us about but he definitely came out of his shell more the longer he was here.

Agreed, great signing for The Brewers fair play!

Just seen Rotherham have signed Gore on loan. Reckon he'll do well at this level

£2m is a bit mad for a guy who has never bagged over 15 in L1. Reading have done very well there.

We are in a post Stansfield world.

When the leagues top goalscorer was just subject to a 7m bid (that was rejected). The second is apparently going to Celtic or somewhere for 11m and the third bought for 15m, the fourth highest scorer at 2 mil is a snip.

Looks like Jay Rodriguez is done.

We would have him, Fletcher, Smith, Mullin, Palmer, Marriott and Faal. Surely someone must go out on loan and it would have to be either Mullin or Palmer.

2 million for smith is just crazy, certainly a more money than sense kinda signing, excellent bit of business for reading though.

Jay Rodriguez should be a baller down here, but 36 in the summer. Interesting to see how long a contract it is.

Yeah, hope we swerve the L1 market completely, so much more value abroad.

You don't half love to put us down.

Kone has had half a good season at this level and Wycombe are turning down £6m for him. If it is £2m, I don't see that as overly bad value for a proven L1 striker.

Brandon Hanlan confirmed as going on loan to St Evenage, seems reasonable.

He's OK, but to me he has 1 in 3 good games, and isn't quite a proper striker or a proper winger but somewhere in between the two - so he's not just someone you can just drop into the team and expect him perform, you have to take his specific style into account.

When you have a mediocre strike force and a centre half who is top scorer, we're desperate. Anyone with a pair of eyes can say we're screaming out for some more quality from what we already have. Start of pre season I said the forwards we have won't get above 20 between them. Thats absolutely shite for a club aiming towards the upper reaches of the division. Potentially going to the championship with league 2 forwards.

Did you believe at the start of the season we'd be fighting for automatics? I certainly didn't.

I don't see us as desperate tbh, more that we're jumping on an opportunity that's been presented to us to challenge to go up and we're having to pay January-tax to have a real go.

yup, January is a shit time to buy, and even more so if you're transparently desperate (hi Lu'un).

Though in our case I don't think we're trying to fleece desperate clubs, just that we genuinely don't want to sell Kone right now - though clearly he will go in summer regardless of what happens now.

I absolutely did not expect to be where we are, but the tactics and the way we play absolutely stinks out the division and forwards are not even shooting let alone scoring. The fact is goals can come from anywhere, but you always need someone in double figures which is usually a forward. We don't need granddads retiring at our place either.

Not to worry if Wrexham get into the Championship they can build a team around their keeper
Complete re-build needed if you get promoted and i am not talking your ground

With the possible exception of Birmingham that's true of every potential promotion team in this division.

Rodriguez confirmed. If he has anything left in his legs he will be any upgrade on what we have.
Looks about 50 on the photo in the kit
